      Yeah, Tavor's receiver is BEEFY under the polymer outer case. It is made out of aerospace grade 7075-E6 hard-anodized aluminum coated in Teflon. Even the polymer parts are high-strength impact-modified polymers.
      X95 SBR(Micro Tavor) is my Fav! Even after attaching a normal-sized suppressor to that 13" bbl, it is still as short as an MK18 unsuppressed and stock fully collapsed.

    Both the KelTec bullpups use a heavy steel receiver to protect the user from cartridge detonations. It is literally one of their selling points of their designs. The RFB chamber is surrounded on the top and sides by two layers of steel. Wish the plastic wasn't trash and basically turned to shrapnel.

    For anyone wondering how he has a 300 Blackout AUG, it's a conversion kit available from a small US manufacturer called Heresy Design. Swap the stock barrel for this, load some 300 BO in a mag and you're good to go. No other mods needed.
    Can be a bit picky to get cycling correctly w/Subsonics, but once dialed in it runs well. Real nice folks that run the company too that'll be glad to work with you if you run into any issues.
    On a side note, I'm quite glad Scott decided to not destroy the AUG he's got there. However, there's a part of me that is curious now. How well would a 70's design bullpup handle extreme overpressure rounds?

    • @AndyAdventuring
      @AndyAdventuring 3 місяці тому +1

      I've never shot 300blk. How difficult is it to keep 300blk subsonic with a 16" barrel?

    • @theJF7
      @theJF7 3 місяці тому +2

      @@AndyAdventuring As it turns out, it can be a challenge. More difficult than typical 300 BO barrel lengths (6-10"). It also will depend on the suppressor that's attached, as some cans will "boost" velocities slightly. Best bet is to try several brands, along with different cans if possible, in order to find the right combo. 220 gr weight is generally subsonic even out of 16" barrels, but again there are other variables. If you have the ability to make your own rounds then you can really tune it well for both proper cycling and subsonic velocities.
      Note too that the AUG 300 BO setup will usually need the gas on the "full" setting for subs, which is the opposite of most suppressed rifle setups. This has to do with the gas piston being further forward than a normal pistol-length gas setup, requiring the gas to travel forward through the specially designed sleeve (thus reducing overall pressure).

      i cant say for sure without going out to look which powder i used but it was just over 7 grains with a 168 gr bullet that cycle the action and they are very quiet.

    • @theJF7
      @theJF7 3 місяці тому +2

      @@WJS774 I don't see any steel plates, but it's fairly thick right around where the left hand ejection port would go (NATO stock). That and the plastic they use is pretty strong (doesn't flex or feel flimsy, maybe nylon fiber reinforced?). My guess is the thick/strong plastic, the robust BCG + chamber, and the lower possible pressures (compared to the 308 in this vid) all contribute to the lack of any steel plates in the stock.

      @@EgonSorensen
      I'd say using gun deaths per capita is a bit unfair when talking about gun safety, especially within the context of @ValidSurvival comment.
      First off, per capita deaths is very rarely good data. Raw numbers are almost always more useful if you mean to provide unbiased data. For sake of argument I'll stick to your numbers for 2021. As per the 2021 numbers provided by the Pew Research Institute, there were 48,830 firearm related deaths in the USA, 54% of that were suicides, 43% were homicides, 1% was officer related, 1% was undetermined and about 1% is considered accidental/unintentional. I think it's safe to say that intentional discharge resulting in death should not be factored in to a greater discussion of safety, as well safety clearly isn't a factor in a scenario where people are intentionally harming themselves or others.
      @ValidSurvival comment was on proper handling and maintenance by the firearm community at large so it's really only fair to use that 1% of total gun deaths per year, which in 2021 would have been 549 deaths out of the entirety of the USA, which has a population of 332,000,000 in 2021.
      That seems pretty damn safe if you ask me.
      Don't get me wrong, there's always room for improvement, and every death is a tragedy, but let's not lie about numbers just to get a point across especially when it's this easy to find the numbers.

      @@Lilith-Rose Yeah, which kind of proves that the problem isn't the guns, doesn't it? Even with how much easier it is to get guns in the US, there's _still_ more knife crime than the UK. You could get rid of every single gun in America and even if not _one_ of those murderers would simply use a different weapon instead (which is a totally absurd proposition) the US would still have more violence than the UK. But tell us again how getting rid of guns will fix the problems in the US...

      People give Keltec a lot of crap for making not-fancy guns. That doesn't mean they make crappy guns. "Simple, durable and cheap" is a reliable customer demographic... as long as you don't screw them over with a flop. Snobs, on the other hand, will often excuse their brand of choice for making a flop "because they're so cutting edge that sooner or later something will end up in production that could only have been caught with 10 years of field testing".

Then we bought a 44 magnum Ruger rifle and broke the stock off into the trash. He stuck the barrel and guts of the 44 into the 42 mm and it bolted right up with a couple adjustments. Then we went to Williams Gun Range and I set up the tripod and Machine Gun and a police officer stepped up . I have to see the paperwork on this 👮 Tom whipped it out. Officer was loving it. Tom let him shoot it. It was incredibly accurate. Lot's of break-ins in his area so he bought this very scary weapon. This was in the 90's
