Many people died from stepping on land mines while escaping through Thailand border along Preah Vihear Mountain ranges in western Cambodia back in early 1979. People had to walk over the corps to avoid the infested mine fields before reaching the refugee camps in Thailand. My wife and her family had to witness these horrific and deadly journey. Peace from a genocide survivor ✌️

Thousands of them! It’s insane the amount scattered not only here but all over the world.

Great video and props for showing this organisation. Besides feeling sadness and anger of what happened and still affecting people today I also feel a bit proud of my fellow belgian Bart Weetjens. I didn't know it was a belgian who started this.

Thank you! Visiting places like this help us and hopefully the viewer appreciate the things we take for granted, like not having to worry about getting blown up going for a walk.
Hats off to him. An ingenious idea and saving peoples lives and livelihoods.

wow really interesting - The map of the world with all the land mines shocked me, I didn't realise land mines were so extensively used around the world - a cruel and stupid weapon that were planted by "great leaders" in their time

It’s crazy to see that there’s still so many mines and unexploded bombs scattered in this area.
Absolute idiots and very emotional to see the effects of such short sighted ideas.
We are truly blessed in the west for the most part.

Crazy that it’s a rat sniffing it out isn’t it? You’ve heard of dogs doing jobs but never rats!
It certainly is, eye opening for sure and something that we weren’t aware of before visiting.
Would recommend, and you get to enjoy Siem reap! It’s a great place.
Thank you for joining us again Ant! 🙏🙏
