Seems like a really good machine. Shame that Home Depot doesn't really push this mower like they do the 40V Ryobi mowers.

The thing was built like a tank but I think it was a rushed product. I tried a couple different brands and settled on the Ryobi, it’s the best I found but almost any gas mower is still superior.

Ill wait on the lawn mower until they get that self propelled redesigned. I just bought the trimmer and blower for 75% off. The batteries that came with it was worth more by itself. Home depot may say goodbye soon to this brand just like they did Greenworks.

Home Depot just jacked-up their price through the ceiling😡and by $250 over The price point that I had in my cart. I went to purchase it and it was in my saved for later section at $799! Save for later… See you later Ryobi🧐Yes, I am not happy. Unfortunately I have too much invested as I own many Ryobi 40V lawn and garden interchangeable tools so the battery and charger system was important to me. Perhaps I will purchase the GreenMachine push “manual” unit at that price point. I could buy two for what Ryobi wants for one now! I would like to have at least two batteries just in case. I was wondering how easy is it to push without the drive on? I do prefer the telescoping handle on some of the competitors models, where this one is more traditional in Design…Appreciate the time you took to do this review, it’s “Freakin”nice to have an honest “user opinion” of equipment 😎reviews. “see ya!”😅

Very detailed review! Worst self propel actuator method ever designed!!! As an engineer I cannot believe that they would design it that way. Super inconvenient and it's going to wear that switch out prematurely.

Do you have to use the self propel on this or can you push it without it as well?

That self-propel setup is a NO freakin' go for me. How did that even make it past the design phase?

did you end up getting rid of this for the Ryobi? Which do you prefer?

The Ryobi is the best I've tried. I'm keeping it but I'm not totally satisfied. The push handle is not long enough, I'm 5' 10" and if you bag you will have to adjust your stride. I have 3 boys 6'3", 6'5"and 5'8", the two taller ones couldn't use the mower, it's just to short, my short boy said it was perfect. The speed control is too easy to move, if your belly hits it, depending on which way your torso is pointing you'll either shut the self propelled function off or have it full blast. If you pack the bag the front wheels want to lift. I only bag so these things are important to me. My neighbor has the Ryobi mower that's a step down from this one, she has to mow on 2 or else she scalp's the lawn, I mow on 1 and the cuts are the same height, it mows high. Run time with the 2 6ah batteries is excellent. I bought a 7.5ah battery and mowed roughly 8,000 sqft of wet grass using the self propelled function a majority of the time, 5,000 sqft at setting 2 and 3,000 sqft at setting 1. If you don't bag and you're not too tall then this mower is awesome.

@@116falconer Thanks for the info about the height, I am 6'2", so that seems like the Ryobi would be a problem. Why did you end up getting rid of the Green Machine? That had a long handle, right? It is on sale today, down a $100 I think. I'm concerned that the Green Machine is too new and there is no guarantee that Home Depot will keep it around long enough to make it worth while. I would like to eventually buy a chainsaw that uses the same battery. My yard right now is small, but that could change. I kept my last mower, gas, for 23 years. Thanks for all the good info in your video and in your response.

The self propel function on the Green Machine is REALLY BAD! I was disappointed because the trimmer and blower are awesome and I had high expectations for the mower, everything about the mower is awesome, it's built like a tank. If you don't have landscaping to mow around the Green Machine would be ideal.

@@116falconer Thanks for that clarification on the self-propel function. I'm going to wait and look for something better. Appreciate your honest feedback.

@@116falconer I tried the Ryobi as well. First one had a bad speed control switch. I also agree the design is bad...it moves way too easily. Then I tried the new Ryobi crosscut model. I never got to use it because upon inspection I found 3 large screws that mount the black side plates to the deck (where the handle assembly attaches) were stripped out in the plastic deck. Trying a Toro 60V Vortex unit now. Nicely built and nice cut but leaves some clippings on right edge of deck when bagging.
