    Hi, I got MacBook Pro 16 M1 Pro since 6th of august brand new. Now I have 61 cycles & battery capacity is 95% in Mac settings (91.5 - 92% in coconut battery). I can get approximately 9-10 hours on 1 charge if watching UA-cam + Safari surfing on 50% display brightness. Is it normal to have already 5% dropped capacity on Macbook after 6 months of daily use? Since 1st of January 2023, I started to use AlDente Pro and set my charge to 50-70% limit range to let my Mac have more consistent battery capacity & have less cycles. What could you say and recommend to save battery life for a longer time on MacBook Pro 16 M1 Pro? Any ideas how to bump up the lost capacity of battery lil bit or it's not possible?

      5% drop seems high but not unusual. Mine isn't in the best shape neither. generally speaking you don't need to care too much about it. keep it cool when charging etc. if it drops below 80% you can get it replaced under warranty.

      It all depends on voltage
      Remember, a powerbank has inner voltage of 3.7V, while you need to increase it to 5/9/12/20V. Of course you can’t increase voltage and at the same time preserve current. That’s why mAh will decrease with voltage increasing. So 20000mAh is only true for 3.7v inner powerbank voltage

    But all these battery banks are equipped with lithium-ion/lithium polymer. Baseus selling 100w for 100 euros for a 20k mah is outrageous. If it was at least battery chemistry with graphite or silicon carbon, it be justified, because the lifespan of the battery bank shoots up dramatically way over 1000 cycles unlike these which will always last 300-500 no matter what BMS sistem is in place.

      I'm not technically adept enough in that department to deduct the capacity in mAh from the given information.

    • @MF2_ETaube
      @MF2_ETaube 2 місяці тому

      @@CirphrankGG No matter what battery bank you get, it’s hard to get a full charge on a Lenovo IdeaPad. The issue isn’t just the battery bank capacity; it’s about how much power the laptop needs and the inefficiency of power conversion.
      The Lenovo IdeaPad 5, for example, needs a charger that outputs 20V at 3.25A (which is around 65W). So, if you want to charge a 56.5Wh battery, you need a battery bank that supports output at 20V, not the typical 5V most power banks provide for phones.
      Here's the math: you'd need a battery bank rated for 20V to match the laptop's input. A lot of people think a 10,000mAh or 20,000mAh battery bank will do the job, but that's misleading. Those ratings are often based on the 3.7V cells inside the power bank, not the output voltage. When you're drawing high current at 20V, the usable capacity drops significantly.
      For example, even though you have a 20,000mAh battery bank (which is 74Wh at 3.7V), when you step that up to 20V, you'll lose a lot of efficiency in the conversion process. In practice, you'll likely only get a fraction of that capacity, especially at higher loads. Pulling more amps reduces the usable capacity even further due to internal resistance and heat.
      Take my phone as an example: it has a 4000mAh battery, and I charge it at 12V 1.67A. My 20,000mAh battery bank (which should theoretically provide 76Wh) only gives me about 2 full charges-that’s only about 8,000mAh of actual usable capacity. Add to that a full charge for my AirPods Pro, and I get roughly 8500mAh out of what’s supposed to be a 20,000mAh bank.
      So if you're trying to charge a laptop like the IdeaPad, you'd realistically need a battery bank rated around 30,000mAh or even 40,000mAh at 3.7V (which translates to roughly 100-150Wh) to get close to a full charge, especially when accounting for real-world inefficiencies.

    Bought Baseus adamant 65w 20000mAh yesterday, tried out today and will bring for a repair/refund tomorrow.
    From a full charge (100% on screen and no energy consumption over the wire) it gave 5400mAh until it reached 40% and then it died like it would be at 0% - no reaction to a button, no charge given. As soon as i hook it up to a charger it boots (showing 0%) and in 3seconds show 40already. Given a few seconds charge from that shown 40 and tried to use it to charge phone or anything again - bam it goes flat again at 40%
    When charging the powerbank itself with quick charger (60w), it grows from 40 to 80 smoothly and then at around 82 it just immediately jumps to 100 and stops charging. Hooking up 5v charger instead of a quick one still allows to push in a few percent.
    Saw those negative youtube videos before buying it but thought (its just one of thousands and it will not happen to me.. boy i was wrong).
    Do not recommend it at all.

      @@ToolsElectroDIY I would love to know that too as I bought 20k mah one and it charged half of my battery and died. It was fully charged before. I wonder if it was faulty power bank or maybe laptop batteries takes way more power to charge?

    • @ToolsElectroDIY
      @ToolsElectroDIY  Рік тому

      @@TheDayVee It is 74wh capacity and 74% efficient, meaning you get about 55wh out of it. If you laptop battery is 100wh, then 55% charged up makes sense.
