Im from Israel, I fly with El Al all the time, and Im shook that their are still using their old plains for such a long flight!! We have new and much more improved plains then the one in the video. Anyway, great review !!
I flew on this same aircraft a year before you did, from YYZ-TLV. LY's known for utilizing their aircraft for long periods of time. By this point though, all of their 767s have been retired and replaced by the 15 788/9s they currently possess (with a few more on the way). Speaking of the 763, I'll be flying on one for the first time since the above flight next month, from NRT-YVR, courtesy of JL.
I already tried the ELAL 767 from London Luton last year and it was not so bad, they now offer an app for entertainment on these planes so be sure you download that before the flight. service on ELAL is great but i cant say i would prefer them over other airlines. also you need to note that because all these ELAL planes are old, they have incredible legroom. i am going to try ELAL 767 to Beijing this winter and i have mixed feelings. i would not fly them if the fare wasn't 500 dollars round trip.
You fly El AL and you get one thing----Security! That's it, knowing you'll fly in peace. Don't expect 5-star service or gourmet cuisines. Knowing I'll get clubbed saying this, but El AL could adopt better service and meals like Emirates and Qatar.
Better than WOW! LOL. Show the legroom. Not bad on El AL. It was better when it belonged to the Government. Newer planes. Boeing 707s. New in the 60s. Where is the Humus? they used to give that.
isaacflyaway they were fine. Nothing to brag or complain about. Although they kept tell me to keep my window completely closed so I wasn’t too happy about that
I can not stand their service I flew on them lax-tlv tlv-lax every year for 10 years and they are horrible. Now I fly on Turkish airlines who have amazing service and is cheaper than the 1,500 a person roundtrip on El Al. They are the worst airline in my oppinion.
Great report, not great aircraft. I'm surprised El Al is that far behind on its fleet renovations, and furthermore, I'm surprised they're sending an old 767 on a route like BOS-TVL instead of a more popular shorthaul route, like CDG-TVL.
I understand that. What I mean is, I wonder why they would send an old, outdated aircraft on a longhaul route when they could just use it to service high-demand shorthaul routes, like CDG-TLV
Perhaps its just a lack of airplanes. The El Al fleet is not very big. 45 airplanes, half of those being short haul. You are assuming they would have a replacement airplane to fill the route. They probably don't.
Amazing trip report! I've been trying to find a review of the flight for quite a while. Quite an ancient plane, with a cabin that clearly hasn't been retrofitted. Was the flight fairly full? Liked and Subbed Check out my channel if interested, I also do reviews, but I started my channel quite recently.
I love Israel but the way elal is rubbish such a chutzpah! Old filthy out of date planes - eveb the few new 787 they got will be outdated before you blink I hate to say this but there are better ways to fly to Israel like with delta and united, even air canada its worth the stop over then to fly with an airline that operates the oldest fleet in the middle east
I totally agree. When El Al got their new 777 in 2007 I got to fly it on my regular lax-tlv route and vice versa. But I still felt like the plane was 20 years older then the plane was and the plane was less than 6 months old
El Al falling behind their Arab competitors big time probably on the same level as Emirates with their unsmiling foreign flight attendants and dirty, hairy and tobacco stench blankets they repackage after every flight without washing them. Qatar and Oman lead the way and that's flying economy.
The main reason people fly LY is for security. Their planes all have missile defense countermeasures, and their security screening procedures (including testing luggage for possible explosives) are second-to-none. It's why only a single EL AL flight has ever been successfully hijacked (back in 1968). If they didn't have to invest so much in security, they would for sure be able to ramp up their soft product.
Got the contrails on video!! Wicked awesome!!
Awesome video. Great to see a report on ELAL. That is one old 767, and very filthy yuck. The food all looks allright!

Brendan

planes are often retired at 25-30 years
Looking at the flight, they seem to have switched to the 777 and it only operates on sundays. But it could be a seasonal thing.
Great report!
Thanks
Smoothly touch down !!!!!

Very cool thanks for sharing
Kosher in-flight meal looks nice.

I get that. Price always comes first for me!
Nice report, at least u flew what will soon b a historical plane , since slowly the 767s are being retired from many airlines fleets.
really? so what are they using instead?
787's
.Love this video, i watched it many times
Did you fly on ELALs 747 ?
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the video. I never got to fly ELALs 747, I understand they are retired now, but I wish I got to though.
Excellent video!
Thank you 🙏
Schönes Video
Thank you!
Nice video ...
The 787-9 has replaced this aircraft now ANYWAY from BOS-TLV.
Almost all 76-3s & 74-4s were phased out; replaced by 78-9s and soon 78-8s

They sure did have a ton of security
I notice when the plane lands, the people are clapping. I've never been on an international flight where people clapped upon landing.
When you fly on an old 767 for ten hours, the end of the flight is cause for celebration.
Israeli tradition
@@NYLUB yup
Great Report, even thought the flight wasn't that great.
By the way, what was the flight date and the aircraft registration (if you remember)?
The date was 2-18-18 and the flight was ELY 16
El Al stopped flying from Tel Aviv for Boston because the airline have no budget.
but first class on those flights
In the safety video
Remember the end
Thats the card you picked

What a sad airplane that was, at least it was taking you to Israel
They’re updating their fleet now which is good
Great review! How were the cabin crew onboard ELAL? :D
isaacflyaway they were fine. Nothing to brag or complain about. Although they kept tell me to keep my window completely closed so I wasn’t too happy about that
Troy Santulli You payed for the window seat so you payed to have a window blind to do with as you wish.
Great video! i flew the same flight- the crew is great and it is a surprisingly better flight than expected. :D

no el al is good. i also flew turkish and almost no difference

The 767s are to be replaced by 787. I suppose, why renovate an airplane if you are planning to replace it.

Disgustingly filthy plane
It really needed a deep cleaning

It's Palestine
I did also visit Palestine, beautiful country!
@@TroySantulli really I couldn't find it anywhere. Is it near Narnia? Or Oz?
There's no such country as Palestine, but I'm sure you meant to say Israel.
