Heretic's End holds a secret to be discovered. Flickering lights on a previously inactive jump gate are causing a stir. Boron ships are as unconventional as you would expect from such an extraordinary species. X4: Kingdom End introduces a wide variety of Boron ships of different classes, which excel with their fluid designs, their wavelike shell animation, and their distinctive grace and uniqueness. Come aboard and experience what may very well be the most breath-taking ships in the X-Universe.
🪐 X4: Foundations 6.00 Update
X4: Kingdom End is being released at the same time as the extensive 6.00 update for X4: Foundations. As is our tradition, we will once again be introducing a number of significant improvements to the base game in this major, free update for all X4 owners. We won't be able to show the full changelog until a later date, but X4 players can already look forward to the following upcoming 6.00 improvements:
- Position Defence, a new feature which allows you to have a carrier-led fleet defend a larger area
- A new cinematic camera cutscene mode
- Improvements in, among other things, AI combat and fleet behaviour, trade behaviour, boarding, salvaging, docking experience, flight pathing, low attention combat simulation, and the station editor
- UI and quality-of-life improvements
- Performance improvements

Egosoft, after reading about the next update, I hope you re not thinking on replacing the immersive experience of landing the spaceship and then walking out to the spacestation, and change this to be a cutscene of the spaceship landing like games from decades ago used to do and show. that would be a major step back

My uncle introduced me to X3 many years ago. I ended up having over 700 hours played on a single playthrough. He was a massive fan but sadly recently passed away.

The Boron ships and station look so cool with their unique organic design and the Kingdom End music still has its peaceful essence. Can't wait to play thia expansion. Great work, Egosoft!!!

@@mokinokaro I think it should be the other way around. There should be visitor areas like this, yes, but if it's required for the vistors to move further into a Boron ship, it's them who should be required to put on a suit. Simply because it would make Boron ships more unique and moving around them more fun.

Been waiting longer for the original ships to get some unique personality, rather than cut and paste mods. The Split ships were awesome, the Terran ships were awesome, and from this trailer, the Boron ships look awesome. So why are the original vanilla X4 ships so shitty?
Truth is, I wont be buying this next expansion until I see some love for the Argon, Teladi, Paranid etc ships, that aren't just cheap cut and paste jobs. Everyone has been asking for the ships to have their own unique design, and Egosoft have refused. Time to go on strike I think.

Man, this series has come a long way. Been here ever since X2 on DVD, laughing at the NPCs crappy jokes, and now this. Really looking forward to that launch!

x2 was really great though. PSGs, the Odysseus, the introduction of the Khaak, the fierce fights with them, especially in their home sectors, AEGIS weapon control system.
Still remember 15 years ago when found the disc for X3: Reunion on a friend's house and tried it out... We've all come a long way. Thanks Egosoft, can't wait to meet the Borons for the first time again!
Well - The same goes for me when I got a demo of X-Beyond The Frontier on a CD that was on a cover of a game magazine. A few days later I found the box containing the game in my local game store (those days game stores where sprinkled everywhere). That was somewhere around 1999. Since then I played every iteration of the X series. And I love these X4 series that keep expanding...
Oh my, the Borons are back, and their ships are even more stunning than I was hoping for. Thank you, Egosoft, this really is a magnificent Christmas present!

Well, with that Boso teaser you hit me in the right spot. I remember when in X3:Reunion (damn that was a long time ago) I was just flying around in my basic Buster, not actually knowing what I`m doing. And then I jumped to the Kingdoms End. It was like I jumped strait into some space ocean with huge boron capital ships gently floating around like whales. And that SONG! Thank you guys for this sweet nostalgia moment ;)

@@victorfula344 dieser Soundtrack heißt tatsächlich ebenfalls "Kingdom End". Komponiert von Alexei Zakharov. laut youtube stammen die vocals von Natalia Yakovleva.
Just the mere fact that they used the leitmotif of Kingdom End from X3 is bringing tears to my eyes and goosebumps all over...

I bought x3:tc randomly on mac store more than 10years ago. The game was the most pleasant surprise i've ever experienced.

Got x3 reunion at a dollar store for 2$ in 2006. First pc game I bought. Never looked back.
I got the X3 gold pack years ago randomly at walmart (i think it was walmart). Once I figured out X3tc its been my favorite game ever since.
Mine was from Target and I bought it because 'space!'. I hope they never stop working on this series.
Found X3:TC in a bin at Gamestop. Did not know the ride that I was in for

I'm in fucken tears man, what a Christmas present. Kingdom's End was always my little quiet place I would visit when I needed to catch a break. Seeing this, and hearing the sector track remastered... Its so bloody beautiful, the Boron are so bloody beautiful.
Ok, I'm buying this for the ost alone. I loved Kingdom End soundtrack in X3, but this one is pure goosebumps.
A welcome Christmas gift, if I do say so myself. I already own the base game, so now all I need is Vendetta, Cradle and Avarice in preparation.
On a side note, can I say I'm SO happy Egosoft are keeping the space flight game alive? Of all the franchises to still be around, The X Universe is one I'm so happy to see going, and in this year, the 19th anniversary of X2 The Threat, the game that introduced me to this mythology when I was 3/4 years old, I'll happily jump back into this universe sooner or later.
I was hoping that one day there will be a Boron DLC, and finally, here it comes. Many many thanks, can't wait to see it being released! I love you, Egosoft!
Like always, Egosoft gets a slow start but the End Product is a Beast, even if it takes them a long time go get there. Finally Boron Ships enter the Universe, the most awesome Designs you can see in a Space Sim. Love it ^^
Those stations modules and ships are stunning, the in universe solution for boron wandering around in ship is also good looking and in my limited knowledge make more sense than a ship fully filled with water (inertia would be terrible), great find on your side, would never thought of it without you!

The song for kingdoms end has always been my favorite track in the X aeries
Can't wait to see what cool things this brings again to the X Universe. Although I must say I always hope for much more storytelling/adventure contents to be there. more stories, more mysteries to discover and solve. It would be great if some day you could also cooperate with some author to add more od this. For example one of the best additions to Stellaris game (Horizon Signal) was when they cooperated by Fallen London and Sunless Sea writer. Hope to see more of this in X4 too in the future.
long ago they did, there s books written on the x universe lore, some x foundations sectors even have names related to the books stories
Man, this looks gorgeous, and the music.....oh how long have i been waiting to hear that music again .
It was a "bit" long ago in 2004 that i picked up x2 randomly and fell in love with this franchise. I'm 37 now and still play both x3 and x4 regularly and I'm really glad that you guys are givin us Boron back again. I can still remember the first time when Julian had to pick up that Boron (Mi Ton?) and how hilarious and annoying at the same time the dude was.

This music was beautiful. I'm hyped to seen the Boron again. Even more hyped to think of the future of the X series. I imagine we can now look forward to the possibility of new species being introduced. The universe is a vast place.
I don't know... I think there is something to be said for really going in deep on a handful of species as opposed to having too many species that they can't really go deep on any of them.
@@Erduk a new species would be amazing but i feel that may be for X5. it's been the same races for i think over a decade now. the newest being the terrans i believe.
@@ginjaedgy49 And? People like the species. It's the individuals in those species that matter.
If anything make wars bigger. Manipulate the xenon more while having a story to have them walk their own path. They're basically Skynet. Humans try to use them and destroy them. They defend themselves. All organics are a threat in their eyes. There's room for working in some good story there. They've been around all this time and never really been delved into a lot. If that story has a devide of the faction through the middle with some remainign hostiles (because enemies to fight) with anthoer faction converting to the players side...
Yea, I can see that working. Provided it's done after the terran missions. This in turn can destable the galaxy (because of course they're going to have concerns). Which can bring in more faction wars. Got to put the big fleets we amass to use somehow.

Flying through certain sectors in X3: Terran Conflict was actually scary with those things coming out of nowhere. X2 introduced them in a big way. Could have the khaak more of a threat. There are a lot of asteroids. In X2 they attacked Argon Prime. Would make sense for the Khaak to attack the nearby sectors there.
Not sure how that could be worked in story wise though. Plus we had a big war with them in X2. Maybe if they were hiding out with the boron and we get to see the khaak in "insect" for the first time? Friendly khaak and hostile khaak and both fighting in xenon space. Can see it working with the right plot.
We never did get to see what Khaak look like.

These are the best Boron ships yet imo, The design language and form really works in a way that I don't think previous Boron designs did as good as they were these ones are an other level.

I've been an X-games player since X3, I've loved the simulation, I've enjoyed the sci-fi, and I've ogled the ships - these images are breathtaking and remind me of the fascination I felt flying alongside the massive M1 and M2 carriers & destroyers in my little m3 starter fighter. I'm so glad the Boron are back! Consistent good work from Egosoft, thank you!

I don't know if anyone remembers the X4 video I made months ago trying to capture cinematic moments, but the 6.00 update may bring that itch back to craft something new with the camera feature. Awesome job as always Egosoft

Damn i so want the original X-tended team to come back and remake the X3 Reunion era universe in the X4 engine with x4 assets...Imagine the XTM Otas, Goners, Sohnen and mighty Terrans back in modern X4 engine. I miss the old days so much. Almost 20 years since Reunion , graphics were above anything ever seen at that time, generations ahead of it's time :(((((
