I think the same, it had potential and so on!!! If it weren't for the one who made me cancel it, surely at that moment we would have seen the movie or at least it would have been great if if the movie was going to be canceled, a series of the movie or a book would have been made to see what it would have been like.
I know it's a somewhat dangerous idea and possibly not considered, but I would like to do a fan campaign to see if there is any chance that Dumbo II will come back to light and be made again.

Dumbo II was a planned sequel movie to the 1941 animated Disney film Dumbo that would have been directed by Robert C. Ramirez, who also directed Dreamworks's Joseph: King of Dreams. It was scheduled to be released in 2001, but was delayed and eventually, production was cancelled by John Lasseter after he was named Chief Creative Officer of Walt Disney Animation Studios in early 2006.
This is quite interesting. I think this scene could have looked very well animated if it weren’t cancelled. Plus, it was unexpected to hear Dumbo speak. Maybe he was set to learn how to speak in this one.

I think it's most likely now that John Lasseter is no longer CCE of Disney. Him being CCE of Disney is the reason it got cancelled in the first place. He never likes new chapters to any Disney movie that isn't from Pixar.
I wish they would bring back Gigantic, I wouldn't even mind if it was 2D instead of 3D. In fact, I wish they would bring back all 2D animation, and no more 3D and live remakes.

If we could somehow talk to the guys at Walt Disney Animation Studios and ask them to revive Dumbo 2 for a theatrical release, I would make the animation done by Duncan Studio, the company that did the new scenes in The Iron Giant and the animated sequence in Mary Poppins Returns. A voice for Timothy Q Mouse in this movie would be Billy Crystal. There would also be a credit that says "Based on an original idea by Joe Grant, Burny Mattinson, and Robert Ramirez." Jennifer Lee and Ken Duncan would be executive producers and Eric Goldberg and Teddy Newton would be directors. There would be score by David Newman with songs written and mostly performed by Tim Minchin, the guy who wrote the songs to the musical of Roald Dahl's Matilda. Well, guys? What do you think? Should this be possible or not?
The giraffe is Dot. Originally she was a zebra, my favorite animal, but they changed her to be a giraffe instead.. which was quite a shame because I love zebras..
The bear cubs remind me of Phil and Lil from Rugrats, my guess is that it's a somewhat similar thing with them being twins. I mean, they look just about the same and the main distinguishing factor between them is that the girl has a head bow. Otherwise they look identical in pretty much every other respect. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the intent they were going for when designing those characters for this cancelled sequel.
@Rkerekes13 Not only that, i can just visualize Kath using her voices for the twins for the cubs in this sequel had it not been canceled, especially given that she is one of the many go to VA stars that Disney has used regularly over the years.

Dot probably got replaced by the giraffe in this animatic. I recall seeing some concept art of Dumbo and the gang peering from a circus tent. There were two versions (as far as I remembered): one featured Dot and the other (seen on the back of the Dumbo DVD) featured the giraffe.
Dumbo and Timothy making new friends with Claude, Lolly, Dot, Godfry, and Penny, who didn't like Dumbo at first, and the baby animals' troubles and actions at the circus caused them to get separated from their families and ended up in the big city, so while enjoying the amazing sights, they have to work together to find their way back home and safe away from the animal control
@@reynarodriguez9742 I always thought that the only reason he couldn't speak in the original is because he was still a very young calf and elephants tend to develop mentally much like children do over a period of years vs months like most animals. Note that Dumbo was still learning how to use his trunk and make sounds in the first film, which are a skills that baby elephants have to learn much like human babies are born not knowing how to use their hands or speak.

Yes it was cancelled, but I'm not a "DUMBELL!!" That's my opinion for the future. I say again, "never say never, it could happen in the future someday, not right now or in a few years from now, but only the future will tell ." So we all will wait and see what will happen in the years to come.
I honestly think this sequel had potential. Yes it would've have been another "animals finding their way home" story, but seeing Dumbo actually interact and befriend the other circus animals is something we never saw in the original. The only thing that does annoy me is that the animal catcher seems really generic for a villain/obstacle. Granted I'm not sure how you could improve a character like that, though I'm very curious how he managed to capture Timothy and what he would have gained from it.
No Dumbo 2 was cancelled but it may still happen according to Disney they will start filming this movie sometimes in 2019 with Tim Burton remakeing the live action Dumbo movie.
This sequel as everyone and their dog knows went down the cancellation drain along with Aristocats 2 and Chicken Little 2 following Michael Eisner's departure as CEO and John Lassiter's appointment as head creative consultant man at Disney, and ultimately i feel it's for the best that they did as the DTV "cheapquel" line had been for the most part a derided and reviled part of Disney's animation output over the preceding decade with only a select few actually being decent as for every good title in the line like The Lion King 2, Bambi 2, 101 Dalmatians 2 and The Lion King 1 1/2 there was plenty of awful hot garbage along the lines of Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World, Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True, The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2, and Pocahontas 2. Who knows how this movie would've turned out but in the end it's obvious why these cheap productions bit the dust given the above big management shakeup that occurred back in 2005/2006.

You know I am such a huge fan of dumbo! I love the live action one. And I also love the cartoon one from 1941 I'm kinda disappointed this was cancelled. If this was animated in the same animation as Ralph breaks the internet, that would be better animation. But if Dumbo and everyone were on an adventure to New York, I heard that Penny is an adventurous ostrich, and she was jealous of Dumbo flying and she knew she couldn't fly, because she's an ostrich, ostriches can't fly. If this film came some years in the future that would be great I would see it in theaters right away. And Dumbo is a cute elephant he was cute in the live-action Dumbo 2019 and he was also cute in the cartoon way from 1941, and if this movie wasn't canceled there would probably be a heartwarming happy ending on this movie if it wasn't canceled like when Penny and Dumbo became real good friends and they all made it back to the circus even by Dumbo seeing his mom again and probably told his mom all about his adventure in some kind of way and the circus becomes a big success and Penny found a perfect act for her to do That's kind of like flying and at the ending credits there would probably be a heartwarming song.

They may not do sequels anymore but I think maybe Disney should make twenty or twenty five minute shorts of these classic characters before starting their movies like when they did that Mickey Mouse short for Rescuers Down Under. Though, if Berlioz, Marie (one of my favorite Disney characters), and Toulouse were meant to be teens in that scrapped sequel too, then, maybe they should've been voiced by actual teenagers instead of adults because their original voice actors were in their thirties when the scrapped storyboard was made, yes, even Marie's love interest, Marcello, even though I do love Rob Paulsen ❤️ Cartoons did it again! Dumbo 2 may come in the future Toy Story 4 was cancelled all because of the never made Disney classic Dumbo 2 but it's coming pretty soon but now filming is still going when incredibles 2 comes this year but it's being made but it was announced that they know to bring back Dumbo 2. Disney has known to bring back Dumbo 2 it's filming still at the end Dumbo brings the animals back home where they belong but there's no ringmaster the ringmaster is dead.
Well maybe they could use it as reference for new films. Disney always does that whenever they recall the cancel film like Frozen for example, which is the recycle of Snow Queen.
Hopefully the Tim Burton version of Dumbo could get a sequel? I heard the Aladdin Remake might get 1 as well as The Jungle Book remake, and The Lion King remake, and also the Mufasa "live action" prequel film
A lot of the direct to video sequel films of this time were in production (like this one, The Aristocats 2 and Chicken Little 2) back when Eisner was still CEO, and were still chugging along even after his departure/ousting from the company and Iger and Lasseter coming in. It seems he mostly shut down the ones that were still in the storyboard phase like the above and only let those which were far enough ahead (The Fox and the Hound 2, Brother Bear 2, Cinderella 3.etc) in production or even complete that it was too late to just scrap them. Apparently it seems Lasseter saw them for the cheap cut rate productions they were as a product of the previous regime and decided it was time to do away with them.
He should've cancelled 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱 2 instead! That sequel sucked SO bad! At least to me, no offense to any of you who have seen it.... but I hope you'll understand how much it affected me as a kid and even as an adult today, and respect my opinion too

Two of the storyboard artists Joe Grant who worked on the original Dumbo and Burny Mattinson who passed away recently created the story
They should do this sequel and also a reboot of the original I call it a Seboot

If we could somehow talk to the guys at Walt Disney Animation Studios and ask them to revive Dumbo 2 for a theatrical release, I would make the animation done by Duncan Studio, the company that did the new scenes in The Iron Giant and the animated sequence in Mary Poppins Returns. A voice for Timothy Q Mouse in this movie would be Billy Crystal. There would also be a credit that says "Based on an original idea by Joe Grant, Burny Mattinson, and Robert Ramirez." Jennifer Lee and Ken Duncan would be executive producers and Eric Goldberg and Teddy Newton would be directors. There would be score by David Newman with songs written and mostly performed by Tim Minchin, the guy who wrote the songs to the musical of Roald Dahl's Matilda. Well, guys? What do you think? Should this be possible or not?

The giraffe is Dot. Originally she was a zebra, my favorite animal, but they changed her to be a giraffe instead.. which was quite a shame because I love zebras..
The bear cubs remind me of Phil and Lil from Rugrats, my guess is that it's a somewhat similar thing with them being twins. I mean, they look just about the same and the main distinguishing factor between them is that the girl has a head bow. Otherwise they look identical in pretty much every other respect. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the intent they were going for when designing those characters for this cancelled sequel.
Speaking of Phil and Lil, I can't help but picture their voice actress Kath Soucie doing the voice of Penny the Ostrich!
@Rkerekes13 Not only that, i can just visualize Kath using her voices for the twins for the cubs in this sequel had it not been canceled, especially given that she is one of the many go to VA stars that Disney has used regularly over the years.

Dot probably got replaced by the giraffe in this animatic. I recall seeing some concept art of Dumbo and the gang peering from a circus tent. There were two versions (as far as I remembered): one featured Dot and the other (seen on the back of the Dumbo DVD) featured the giraffe.

@@reynarodriguez9742 I always thought that the only reason he couldn't speak in the original is because he was still a very young calf and elephants tend to develop mentally much like children do over a period of years vs months like most animals. Note that Dumbo was still learning how to use his trunk and make sounds in the first film, which are a skills that baby elephants have to learn much like human babies are born not knowing how to use their hands or speak.

I honestly think this sequel had potential. Yes it would've have been another "animals finding their way home" story, but seeing Dumbo actually interact and befriend the other circus animals is something we never saw in the original. The only thing that does annoy me is that the animal catcher seems really generic for a villain/obstacle. Granted I'm not sure how you could improve a character like that, though I'm very curious how he managed to capture Timothy and what he would have gained from it.
No Dumbo 2 was cancelled but it may still happen according to Disney they will start filming this movie sometimes in 2019 with Tim Burton remakeing the live action Dumbo movie.

This sequel as everyone and their dog knows went down the cancellation drain along with Aristocats 2 and Chicken Little 2 following Michael Eisner's departure as CEO and John Lassiter's appointment as head creative consultant man at Disney, and ultimately i feel it's for the best that they did as the DTV "cheapquel" line had been for the most part a derided and reviled part of Disney's animation output over the preceding decade with only a select few actually being decent as for every good title in the line like The Lion King 2, Bambi 2, 101 Dalmatians 2 and The Lion King 1 1/2 there was plenty of awful hot garbage along the lines of Beauty and the Beast: Belle's Magical World, Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True, The Hunchback of Notre Dame 2, and Pocahontas 2. Who knows how this movie would've turned out but in the end it's obvious why these cheap productions bit the dust given the above big management shakeup that occurred back in 2005/2006.
But this one had potential and decent world-building... :(

You know I am such a huge fan of dumbo! I love the live action one. And I also love the cartoon one from 1941 I'm kinda disappointed this was cancelled. If this was animated in the same animation as Ralph breaks the internet, that would be better animation. But if Dumbo and everyone were on an adventure to New York, I heard that Penny is an adventurous ostrich, and she was jealous of Dumbo flying and she knew she couldn't fly, because she's an ostrich, ostriches can't fly. If this film came some years in the future that would be great I would see it in theaters right away. And Dumbo is a cute elephant he was cute in the live-action Dumbo 2019 and he was also cute in the cartoon way from 1941, and if this movie wasn't canceled there would probably be a heartwarming happy ending on this movie if it wasn't canceled like when Penny and Dumbo became real good friends and they all made it back to the circus even by Dumbo seeing his mom again and probably told his mom all about his adventure in some kind of way and the circus becomes a big success and Penny found a perfect act for her to do That's kind of like flying and at the ending credits there would probably be a heartwarming song.

Dumbo 2 may come in the future Toy Story 4 was cancelled all because of the never made Disney classic Dumbo 2 but it's coming pretty soon but now filming is still going when incredibles 2 comes this year but it's being made but it was announced that they know to bring back Dumbo 2. A lot of the direct to video sequel films of this time were in production (like this one, The Aristocats 2 and Chicken Little 2) back when Eisner was still CEO, and were still chugging along even after his departure/ousting from the company and Iger and Lasseter coming in. It seems he mostly shut down the ones that were still in the storyboard phase like the above and only let those which were far enough ahead (The Fox and the Hound 2, Brother Bear 2, Cinderella 3.etc) in production or even complete that it was too late to just scrap them.
Apparently it seems Lasseter saw them for the cheap cut rate productions they were as a product of the previous regime and decided it was time to do away with them.

He should've cancelled 𝘓𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘱 2 instead! That sequel sucked SO bad! At least to me, no offense to any of you who have seen it.... but I hope you'll understand how much it affected me as a kid and even as an adult today, and respect my opinion too
i never watch disney anymore because they cancelled it
