According to Ludvig Borga’s ex-wife, he once chased her with an axe. I don’t think he’s getting into the Hall Of Fame. He’s in the same category as Matt Borne, Dynamite Kid, and Chris Benoit.
This dude got beated up by world since he was a baby he was on his own since middle school. He needed to be tough to live. He was fucked up but his story is not that simple. Also he didn't turned his back to his politic co-workers. Tony Halme lifted them up and he was good with them after he retired. He was good politic
He was a good guy. Also entertaining and quick witted back when he came back to Finland at 90's and humored people at various tv-programs and started boxing
In one of his books he tells an anecdote of when he was in jail and told a black inmate he can lose weight if hes fat but you can never wash off the color of your skin
He was, his- ex-wife wrote a book about what a monster he was and recently a journalist published book revealing that he lied and fabricated large parts of his background and was basically a career criminal.
Tony did not use the name Ludwig in politics, as most people in Finland don't even know of his pro wrestling career, he was mostly known from other things than "clown wrestling" (as the show is actually called here). Even thought his talk was rough I think in his heart he was less racist than Donald Trump is.
His Viking song was a joke it was part of the comedy show he was part of.. President comment happened way before his brain damage. And it happened because President Tarja Halonen was leader of the "lesbian rights organization" And he was sorry about his comment Tony thought that she really was a lesbian
No doubt Tony was never in a good place in his life. One can speculate if childhood horrors at home and lack of Finnish authorities to made intervention had major negative impact how his mind was developed. Anyway he didn't seek help as an adult and was piece of sh*t all most everybody around him. But there is two things i want to clarify. Firstly, people who voted Tony to parliament were poor citizens from low-income residential areas, who normally didn't vote at all. He went to local malls and shady pubs to campaign himself and his vision about honest and transparent politics that would work for poor people. They say Tony was political protest. He was not big Finnish star, like "our Tony". He was polarizing figure, few loved him and others loved to hate him. And the second thing was that you guys basically said, that he was monster with no decent act in his life. Well, he did lots of charity in his personal life outside of publicity. Reporters tried to ask him about his work in charity, but he kept that side of himself personal. There were money donations and Ironically he went to children's home to spoke about bullying and tried to steer youth to sports, like weightlifting. Due to his childhood kids resonated some where in him. Truly paradoxal and surreal life.
Good episode. It seems that Tony is definitely up there with Tom Billington (dynamite kid) as a pretty unsavoury character. Pity as I think with a bit more training he could have really gone somewhere with the ludvig borga gimmick.

Lol Tony Halme was a racist moron.
Wasn’t he a racist? Goodnight
Tony was awesome, I met him multiple times in Helsinki.

In real life, he hated abuse of women and children and did alot charity work.
Be he would also abuse his wife.
I don't believe he was racist, I heard the tattoo was a teenage mistake.
From what I have read he did nothing to cover it, as I think one would do if one consider it a 'teenage mistake'
He waa openly racist

The guy wasn’t as bad as these two guys portray him.
Yeah, this podcast was really awful. Just uninformed shit.

I read the first 2 books he wrote. Absolutely amazing. Timanttia.
Do you know if there are any english versions?

I don't think Dynamite Kid would have tried to rib Tony though
its HALME
Ludvig Borga's Nazi tattoo was their eagle symbol.
Jim Ross has said it was a SS tattoo.
Just watched him fight randy couture in ufc and wound up here
I thought he was a great performer. Y'all shouldn't dog him
Job well done yall earned a new fan
The general consensus here in Finland nowadays is that Tony was a dumb bully who got famous for some reason.
Its the opinion here too
It's not. I think the general consensus about the life and career of Halme is mostly positive, Tony was the underdog story and Finns love that.
