I'm gonna be honest but the audio issue suited the audio records of zykov talking to both requiem and omega since he's in the dark aether the radio transmissions could have some distorted records and a few gun shot background noises

Some other points: First, how did Zykov know the Forsaken was visiting Angelica (Valentia) and pretending to be her father? Second, why haven't any of Omega’s Aethernauts reported coming into contact with Zykov? You’d think he would see them and would wanted to at least make contact if not outright help his fellow countrymen.

A good point, but he could’ve just intercepted the transmissions that we hear, if the foresaken is talking to Valentina from the other side, who’s to say Zykov couldn’t listen in?
It's a good point but he would most likely be trying to trick requiem for his own needs. because almost every one who has been in there for years have lost it.
I guess Zykov knew about the Forsaken pretending to be Valentinas father through his contact with the Omega Group (espacially Peck) and the Story with the aethernauts, many of them were effected by aetherium and i wouldn't be surprised if Zykov was keeping his distance out of caution because of his experiences with other people in the dark aether
@@tor9719 Could be he found out from Peck, but I don't think Peck knew until Berlin based on some of his dialogue in MDT. I could be forgetting another piece of intel.
It also possible that he was overly cautious, but he had a line where he said something to the effect of I watch you travel back and forth and I'm jealous. If he really wanted to get out, you'd think he'd try to make contact with them especially after finding out they are Russian. It just seems odd.
Anyway, we'll have to wait and see what the intel for season reveals.

From the looks of it, Zykov has been in the Dark Aether for over 12 Years. He is most likely dead after the message saying that the Forsaken is altering its looks.

The title "The Forsaken" really plays true to the fact that Zykov was indeed forsaken by his own countrymen. Also, the entity was apparently not around until he had entered the realm.
Yeah and spending that much time in the Dark Aether he probably became "The Forsaken" and is plotting to get revenge on our dimension for getting left behind for so long.

Hes been in it since the beginning of Cold War and actually has significance in our characters progression through this lackluster storyline full of radios and sub par Easter Eggs. I think if they would have introduced him as one of four players and didn't go with the choose your operator mentality i would have been more emotionally connected to this game. Im interested in his travels through the dark aether and how his tinkering mind works to restore the perks and such. Having him as a main character would have been one of many better moves they could have made.
@@reubenperry2389 NGL im not much of a fan of her storyarch without having Rictofen to complement it. Yes he may make an appearance but once again having her as a playable character as well as seeing her in the cutscenes takes away from the experience to me. Just my opinion but we all are entitled to them.

In the next map we're probably going to have to free zychov but the forsaken will also come out, in the next map we'll have to put the forsaken back then zychov will sacrifice himself.

Here’s a theory: Vogel is alive but he’s being used as a puppet by The Forsaken One, or something along those lines as oppose to him dead and The Forsaken One taking his place
There's one issue, if time actually moves faster in the Dark Aether, Vogel would had died due to old age by the time of Cold War.
Zykov is the Forsaken's backup plan. Also, Peck is getting played like the fool he is.

If I remember in one of the radio communication with requiem before mauer, Zykov mentioned that he gave up on going home (or at least home to his family because he afraid the outcome of his family). So, out of nowhere Zykov desperate of getting out of dark aether is suspicious.
I think that in the final dlc map requiem will fail to stop the forsaken and they’ll have to use the dark aether in some way to travel back in time to world war 2 to try to stop the forsaken from gaining so much power
That’s actually really good theory. Since the next COD is likely to be in wwII and treyarch has been reported to help with zombies they could use that game to go back and maybe find the forsaken at an earlier state and find a way to permanently trap him in the dark aether

Zykov has to be the forsaken. Like Major Carver said, people change within a few hours and turn into the mimics and zombies and tempests, and yet we don’t know how Zykov could’ve survuved in the DA for 40 years. it would even be damn near impossible to even last a year in there. and with the intel that BlackOpsAmazing has shown us, he’s keeps asking to be brought home. So potentially we could fight Zykov(The Forsaken) in DLC 4 of cold war zombies with Samantha Maxis probably sacrificing herself to stop The Forsaken. and in the document with Weaver, Grey, Strauss, and Carver, their saying they don’t know if they can trust Zykov or not, Weaver even said that the team should be cautious about it.

I have a theory... I once read a piece of Intel that stated that Peck made the Kransky Soldat suits and after examining one from the Dark Ather... they were modified. I think, yet hope not, that Zykov modifies them. Is that too far fetched?

@@RaNgErs_Rep I would say that it makes it more likely that the forsaken would try to help both sides, so that there is a bigger chance of a portal between the Dark Aether and their world. If he only helped one side it would be less beneficial for the forsaken in my opinion.

From what we've seen so far with the Forsaken's mimicry of Dr. Vogel, there's a good way of telling it is him, listen to the audio logs with "Dr. Vogel" versus the audio logs with Zykov. We'll likely know if the Forsaken is pretending to be Zykov when there's a voice behind him.
I posted something similar to this a few days ago discussing how strange it is that a random Russian soldier could survive as long as he has and accomplished as much as he has. Taking the fact that time flows differently between the dimensions into account and his lack of change due to his time there and he seems almost inhuman. Sam was gone a few weeks our time but 6 months in the dark aether. From WW2 to the Cold War would be ridiculously long in the dark aether. I doubt he’s who he says he is.
Side note: Zykov mentions in multiple messages him going to hunt. I doubt there are rabbits and deer in the dark aether and he then mentions the Forsaken hunting other elder gods. Could be a Freudian slip

I’d love to trust Zykov but… 40+ years in the aether and just having some side effects is unnatural, not to mention even living that long in there. He may have brought us the perks and pack a punch but so did the last villain. He may very well be a Soviet from WW2 desperately trying to get home and help us win the war against the dark aether but he could also very well be the forsaken.

does the Dark Aether slow down the aging process for humans ? I’m only asking because of Zykov has been trapped in the Dark Aether for many many years and since time works much faster in the Dark Aether then shouldn’t have Zykov died a long time ago ?
And , has it ever been explained as to how and why he has stayed human for so long ?

I am not shure, but i think the time works slower in the dark aether for zykov at least. Since he had only 20 years of notes when he broadcasted his intel that was 37 years after he became traped there. So the time had gone 37 years in the real world, but only 20 for at least zykov. At least that is what I got from the wiki. so two years before outbreak. And I would asume that he would have continued the logs for as long that he was traped in the dark aether. So if the time was to be faster for zykov than it was in the real world, he should have more jurnal entries than the amount of days between his entrapment and when he started broadcasting. It could also be that we haven't gotten the latest bit of intel from him, but i think the wiki should be at least a little close to how it is. Just go to the wiki for Kazimir Zykov for more accurate info than i can give.

Crazy theory but what if zykov is the forsaken cuz when he was in the dark aether he stumbled onto dr Monty or the shadow man and got his power somehow and got corrupted and he blacks out when he turns into the forsaken that might be why he was able to survive for so long and how he knew how to repair the perk machines

Here is a game theory, maybe Zykov is perfectly normal and he is just being used as a piece of bait or a fail safe.

For some stupid reason in my brain, I’m convinced Richtofen built the CBR-S or at least the Strauss variant. I only thought this randomly today because the Strauss version kept saying things like “This is just what the doctor ordered” (which if you didn’t know what a Richtofen thing) and Rictofen did help build the wunderwaffe originally. I am aware however, that this was in the Aether storyline and not the Dark Aether story so its very much possible Richtofen is useless when it comes to weapon building in this storyline
Well the director of requiem who is most likely Eddie in until is said to be really weird and mysterious and eccentric he probably is the one who told them to give personalities to the weapon

I just thought something. If Zykov was the Forsaken One, why would he reveal that he could alter his appearance and turn others powers into his own. Just though of this wonder if we will get 1 or 2 more maps for the storyline of BOCW zombies.
Zykov can't be The Forsaken. Because hes the one who assisted Dr. Peck in making the Inversion Warheads which were meant to stop The Forsaken. Which Ravenov had sent in the Ocean.
Great point! But then again, maybe he anticipated Requiem destroying them. Could’ve just been another way for him to gain Omega’s trust as well as Requiem’s.

Zykov reminds me of Isaac’s wife with her always saying “isaac make us whole again” from dead space with how he says basically “bring me home…… insert who he is talking to” and drives people with desire like peck is info and requiem is weapons and technology but no info so either he is as you say the forsaken but one I can’t see him as being actually zykov either cause as they said being in dark aether 40 years in our world is over 400 years cause Samatha was only in there basically a week in our time and in DA she said she was there for months that she lost count which in zykov would mean he’s dust by now if he hasn’t turned into a DA entity which seems eternal as long as they have aetherium which in that case would naturally serve the forsaken so even if it’s not the forsaken and actually zykov I can only picture him as a agent for the forsaken with him being the forsakens hole card also but it’s more suspicious that he knows the forsaken showed himself to Valentina since her childhood of which Valentina said she has never told anyone about seeing her father at all so he can only be the forsaken

The person we've been dealing with is ya boy Ed. Ed is the forsaken. Forsaken literally means abandoned.. sam abandoned him in the dark aether.

And Valentina couldn't be Angelica, since Valentina is russian, and Angelica is german. Them lying wouldn't be the first time, so I wouldn't say that zy being ed is literally imposible. Just a bit improbable. Since they could do that as a plot twist, but I personaly don't think that they would have Eddy be zy and the forsaken at the same time. But I could be wrong there tho.

Secondly zy has been there since Endstation which we know for a fact is a Nazi German base and since we saw both Sam and eddy leave the dark aether they would be similar ages (mid to early 30’s) that rules out him being there for the same length as zy who has been there since the 40’s
To say he is zy implies he was sent to the new timeline and sent back only to adopt a whole new name and language, join the Russian army who hated Germans and work up the ranks just to get stuck again in the aether and somehow act like he’s never been there before without ever addressing Sam even in passing, Richthofen likes to talk a lot so that alone is odd and let’s be real eddy lost in the aether for as long as he has been he’d be sounding more like ultimis rather than primis
Zy isn’t eddy, that requires insane leaps of logic the best stuntmen in the world can’t make
@@cowgod1945 I know Valentina isn't russian. But the russian name she adopted. That is why i used her german name Angelika. The thing I was trying to point out is that saying eddy, who is a german, couldn't be zy, who is a russian, is the same as the situation with Valentina. Not that i think Valentina is russian, it was just that the similarities between how Angelika was pretending to be Valentina, a german pretending to be a russian. And if hypotheticly Eddy was impersonating Zy so people wouldn't believe it was him.
That wouldn't be the same situation but it would be similar. And i can't find anything that officially states that Sam and Eddy leaves the dark aether together. The only thing is that they leave on tag der toten to possibly the dark aether together(at least the new universe), but not leave it together. So for me at least it could be a possible option for Eddy to not have been able to leave the dark aether.
To me it doesn't require that much of a leap of logic. Since we know Sam came to the new universe with no memory of what had happened in the previous universe. So for her to know eddy, that would mean that she had to have met him in this universe. And we have had no information that she might have met eddy before she went into the dark eather.
So eddy being in the dark eather from the start wouldn't be that strange, and him being corrupted from the dark eather wouldn't be either, since we have seen that happen to other characters in both intel and with Angelika. And Eddy learning Russian wouldn't be that strange. And it wouldn't be so strange for the forsaken to have an ability that gave him comprehension of any language from one of the beings it devoured.
So if the forsaken has an ability that either lets it understand any language and manipulates the one he imitates or be able to get the memories of the ones he devour, then it wouldn't be so strange that the forsaken to have either Zy in his grasp or devoured him. And i don't think that eddy being the forsaken is that farfetched when we don't know where eddy is anyways(at least to my knowledge, if i am wrong here please give me a link or something so i can correct my misinformation).
I don't think this is the case, it's just a theory of one way they could spin this.

Even tho there are big diffrences, since valentina has been in Russia since she was 2 years old. So she has a good comprehension of russian. Not that I think that Angelica and Valentina are two different people, and that i know that Angelika is her birth identity.

What if Sam is the forsaken one and he swapped with her when she went through the portal? Could that be possible?
Unless the forsaken can separate itself like mitosis, and make another version of itself, I doubt she is one. But there is something going on with her related to the Dark Aether, like her ability to make portals without a teleportation device. Could be something related to the first group of timelines from previous games. Zykov does seem to be compromised though.

I don’t know if this means anything that could support the theory that zykov is the one or being controlled but I can’t help but notice in the audio logs he doesn’t seem to have the voice of someone who’s over the age of like 60 cause we know he’s been in there for 40 years but he sounds almost like he’s not aged bit sus

I think it's zykov cause why would he speak of the forsaken if he is that's just makes no sense second there is not crystals all over the dark aether so if he just stays away from them then the exposure will be lower and maybe some humans don't get affected by it that much like sam
I think that if the forsaken is good with decit, then he would absolutly talk about "the forsaken" like it wasn't him. Since that would create mental distance from him and "the forsaken". And the other point about the dark aether not affecting humans as much, we have audio logs from people growing aligator like teeth and getting physicly altered. And when you go into the dark aether in die machine, there are more aether crystals there than in the real world. So I would at least asume that would be the case for the rest of the dark aether too. But of course he could be in a place with less crystals tho. Still just my opinion. Not a fact.
I doubt it because of them soon adding death perception and zykov being the bst way to explain why we got it now

I feel zykov is too desperate, but not in a normal way. He seems like its an urge and he has no true detailed reason, he doesn't mention anything other than "I want to go home" no details of a former life and things he wants back from that. It seems like he is desperate to get out with no real reason other than pure determination, if I were acting as someone from Requiem I would say to prove you're zykov answer:___ it is a videogame though. And he tries to familiarize himself with everyone WAY too much constantly saying "my friend" and as the saying goes: If someones being too nice to you they probably have ulterior motives
I think if you were trapped in a horrible hellscape filled with flesh eating demons for four decades you'd be desperately trying to get home just to get home...

Zykov isn't like Samantha, who can survive the Ether due to her power's.
If it wasn't no overpowered god eating the rest of the God's, it'll probably be a Doom wet dream for me but at the same time.

I don't even think people sleep in the Ether because of everything wanting to kill you. So the wants of Socializing, Sleep, Food and to stop living in fear is a normal human reaction.
@@AristotelianEpistemophilic I think you're overthinking it. The knowledge Zykov claims to hold is his only bargaining chip. Its the only reason Reqiuem and Omega have any interest in him beyond the initial "oh look, this guy has been in there a really long time, that's neat." There's not much motivation on their part to put the effort into getting him out of the Dark Aether, so he makes his rescue the one condition for gaining what could be critical information about what's threatening our dimension. The more he gives away for free, the less leverage he has.

I don't think Zykov is the Forsaken, because why would the Forsaken disguise as Zykov if his first plan in Mauer der Toten hasn't even failed or succeded yet
Good observation tho. But what if his original plan was to use zykov as a way to make both sides create a link between the dark aether and the world, but then found an opurtunity with angelica that would later disguise herself as valentina. And you wouldn't expect him to be zykov right, so that could be a reason for treyarch to do that. and it isn't that farfetched either. Just my thoughts on it tho.

@@tor9719 Yeah, that's kinda true. It was just something i thought up on the spot. So yeah, I agree there that it wouldn't make that much sense. But hey, this is treyarch. Maybe it happens anyway. But i think it would be that satisfying if it were to happen.
@@martinrisy3125 i could imagine that the Forsaken kills Zykov and pretends to be him as a Plan B after Valentina has failed or that one side frees the Forsaken by accident being either Peck trying to pull Zykov out of the Dark aether and something goes wrong or that Project Janus frees the Forsaken somehow (which i find is the most likley option)
