Hi I’m looking at getting these for my b7 passat estate, did you dads car have projection lenses like xenon’s or are they just a normal bulb with the mirror backs? Cheers
Hi, thanks for watching! They were just normal bulbs with the mirror backs in my dads Passat. That’s why he wanted to upgrade to the H7 LED lights :) I hope that helps!
Yes white will look new.. but in rainy season the white color will reflected by rain water to your eyes.. not beam thru.. will safe if you choose yellow 3300k
What does the beam pattern looks like against the wall? I had them in my Golf in a reflector housings but now I changed the headlamps to projector headlamps.
I'm thinking about buying these bulbs, but like your dads car, my car also has that rubber cap to access the bulbs. Did it fit back on without fouling the fan or do you need to keep it off, for the fan to breath?
Michael Britain Hi Michael! I’ll have to double check with my dad. I think we tried to put it back on but it wouldn’t fit/easily fell off. He’s had them installed since this video and hasn’t had any issues with them - RESULT! Is it a Passat you have too?
@@DylansCarReviews cheers for reply! No, its a hyundai i30 I've got but its got a flat hard plastic cap just like ur dads passat does. Think it was my fiesta I had before, had a dome shaped rubber cap, which would be much more useful to house the fan.
Michael Britain yeah one with more space to house it sounds ideal. Maybe you could find a cheap one online? However these have worked perfectly fine without the cover on my dads :) thanks for watching - don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already!
@@DylansCarReviews cool! So you didn't bother putting the cover bsck on at all? I thought you potentially got issues with dirt & condensation inside the lense? 🤔

These work great in rain, sun and fog :D

hi David! Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I'm not sure really. No fancy pattern, my dads was in a reflector housing too so just bright :)
@@DylansCarReviews no not a problem at all! Oh ok, did you ever get flashed by anyone?
Are they still running good?
Hi Andrew! He bought a new car a few months ago, but they were still working when he sold the last car. They're very good
@@DylansCarReviews thanks!
Did you have an problem with the passat not detecting the led? Throwing a bulb error code?
Hi. Yes there was intermittent problem but this is common. The lights still worked without any issues :)
@@DylansCarReviews got it. Thanks! The dash will show the error but bulbs worked fine.
Yes :) the error on the one we tried only showed up when you start the engine. You just cleared the message and it was fine again

Michael Britain I will double check with him when he gets home from work but I think the LED slots perfectly in the hole so dust doesn’t get in
Are they canbus free?
Passed the MOT without any mention....
Dave Haggerty the original bulbs are kept in the car, so I don’t know if they were swapped out beforehand or not lol
