So he would very likely be taking it seriously and making sure that those parts of this upcoming movie would NOT be done wrongly.
There’s something about the first Sonic movie i really like. Sonic’s just alive in the real world experiencing our Earth while being chased by bad guys. Whereas now we’re going further and further into the superhero/cosmic realm. The new films are feeling a lot different from the first. I kind of wanna see Sonic interacting with normal civilians more, getting into shenanigans. Sonic taking over a barista’s job because the line is taking too long would be classic..
Feel like the dance part and probably the part at 8:18. It could be in the film, but I imagine if it is it's gonna be during a scene, which is a version of Gerald and Eggman's version of the where evil grows scene from the 1st film. Although for the dance scene if it's in it the animated part won't be in it
9:50 Bro, what ?! That has to be fake ! 😂 Also, I just want to say, Chris is keep up the good work ! You're my go-to guy when it comes to movie news and just loving what you're doing on the channel.
Honestly, I think they need to let Carrey retire, he deserves it at this point. That, and maybe they could write Stone as a new villain? That could give the writers some new story avenues to go down.
Personally i think its gonna be a fun movie and i cant wait to take my two sons in Christmas. Its a tradition of ours to go to the theaters on Christmas.
Think of it like this. Sonic Adventure 2 was rated E. The video game equivalent to a PG rating, and it had those darker themes and those world ending stakes. So us expecting this movie to be similar in tone to SA2 is reasonable. Because SA2 was made for kids and this movie is still made for kids. But some Sonic fans need to realize that these movies have already established a tone that they’re a little bit more sillier than how Sonic is normally. So we shouldn’t be surprised when we see Eggman and Gerald dancing in a trailer, when in the trailer for the first movie had Eggman dancing and Sonic and Tails dancing in the second movie’s trailer. This is nothing new
To be fair, you can have an installment with its tone slightly more mature and darker than the previous, while at the same time, delving lighthearted and comedic moments with proper timing that isn’t goofy or forced. I believe that the first movie handled this well and the second film just went all in with the goofiness. Plus, movie Sonic shouldn’t be sillier just because kids watch it. In fact, the comedy should be handled without any goofiness and immersion breaking moments. It makes people lean more into believing that Sonic is for kids (which isn’t, since it’s an all-age demographic franchise with its games centered sometimes around darker and mature tones, as well as its moments). Plus, people forget that Transformers One exists, a movie with the same rating that handles its tone, themes, and comedy extremely well. Too bad it failed at the box office.
What if during the end credits, they have all the characters dance to the new song and then Shadow start bussin out sum moves that shocks Sonic? Am I the only one that would think that would be hilarious?
dont get where these people are coming from. like i want a badass sonic movie where shadow battles sonic on the moon thats a bout to explode or smtg like that, but like, even the trailers show how goofy the movie is. this version of sonic is much more family friendly, and it was obvious that the third movie wont take that much of a tonal whiplash
@@MRMintyMinty well, gerald robotnik is alive in the move. also sonic is an ally of gun unlike in the games where he was confused for shadow. also him using guns and riding a motocyhcle were introduced long afer sa2 came out, so it's not super game accurate
Personally I feel like Gerald being Santa Claus isn't going to be in the film, just did it because of Christmas. The other scenes (if they're in the film) will most likely be Eggman's imagining spending time with his granddad. Even though he claims to hate people in general, he wants to have a family. He's not fond of being an orphan (1st movie), when he trapped Sonic, Tom, and Maddie; he said "looked at the happy little family" and (to me) seem kind of jealous of them (sonic 2), and we know he teared up meeting Gerald from the Sonic 3 trailers. I kinda of wonder how this will play out in the film. I know Eggman talked about "ruling the world", but that doesn't seem something that Gerald would want (could be different in the film) . . . I can see Gerald betraying Eggman to get his revenge on Earth for Maria.
To be fair I think it's gerald people have a problem with dancing. Eggman has always been a pretty wacky character. Gerald on the other hand is one of the more serious sonic characters. I don't mind the change personally but I do get why people might be bummed out about the change. Even so I'm sure the movie is gonna treat him less comically during the final act
I have a thoery that krysten ritter's Character will eventually turn into rouge the bat somehow but seeing that pic of Tom's sonic eyes at 9:42, it will probably turn true, unless the pic is fake then again depends on what crazy experiments Gerald got up to
That's just standard film marketing at this point. I remember when the last 2 Transformers movies had trailers that didn't spoil much.. and those movies struggled.
We are appreciative of what we do get, could it better? Sure, I'm still going to my cup and popcorn better regardless. Been a blast reviewing the first 2 movies, this is going to be a fun movie experience no doubt!
"why do you want this movie to be serious, its for kids" Oh boy, wait till these people see what happens to maria in the games CONSTANTLY. Sonic was always meant to have its serious moments.
On top of that, just because something is for kids doesn't mean it has to be goofy. Kids' stories can be serious too, and in fact, there should be more serious kids' stories in modern cinema. Children deserve better than fart joke slop. (Disclaimer: I'm not saying Sonic 3 is for kids or that it's gonna be fart joke slop. I'm simply taking this argument further)
Well the games have always been for teens. Lighthearted but also serious. In my opinion Sonic Heroes has the perfect atmosphere and style. 05 and 06 tried too hard.

Honestly I could see Agent Stone take Eggmans place as a villian in future films if Jim carry is done
Nah he should be the good guy
i feel like shadow is gonna be that contrast that HAS to be taken seriously. sonic always needed that contrast to his whitty nature
My theory is that Paramount has something else up their sleeves, like a new Sonic character drop perhaps? Thats why Paramount is revealing so much.
Being a sonic fan is A Nightmare
1:07 cmon Chris everybody wants some good sonic head
Didn’t AMC do the Wolverine mouth popcorn bucket? If they did then I don’t think they were lackluster at all this year.
Don’t worry about it, that’s just Sonic fans for ya
Is this 2008 or something
Oh I thought it was something serious thank god
@Shadowthehairhoob I do see their point though I mean I don't think it's that far filled to want a movie like the original source material obviously they are going to add some new things but still.
@Shadowthehairhoob lol
@@SeanLugo-io4pd I’m curious, since I’ve seen people like you call these people with a different view from you, “Sonic fans,” then what do you consider yourself then? Just a curious question.
I think that you should just calm down and not worry about how the Shadow and Maria stuff will be handled in Sonic 3 because in case you don't already know, the director of the Sonic movies (Jeff Fowler) is a major fan of Shadow and he was also involved with the production of the CGI opening cutscene of Shadow's 2005 spin-off game!
Again if anyone has played Sonic adventure 2 nothing is spoiled for me
Why didn't they just do the Master Emerald as a Popcorn Bucket?
I get to see the movie early because of the fan event
This is gonna be the best Sonic movie in History. 💯💯🔥🔥
People don’t understand movie with a cool and edgy character has to be a dark movie
this reminds me of that one eggman dance from those sonic shorts videos
those who know💀💀💀💀
We need to see Jim Carrey with the death egg
I work at AMC and the buckets are a clear tin and the same head from regal 🤫
I really feel like Eggman should play a smaller part in future films, like a treat.
Feel like the dance part and probably the part at 8:18. It could be in the film, but I imagine if it is it's gonna be during a scene, which is a version of Gerald and Eggman's version of the where evil grows scene from the 1st film. Although for the dance scene if it's in it the animated part won't be in it
Thank God I left Twitter. Its a cesspool of waste.
Thanks to footage leaked on Youtub,. I know an important scene that's gonna happen now. So part of the final scenes are spoiled for me.
I hope they properly do Maria’s story but I do think the movie should have some humor and I just hope they balance it out
9:50 Bro, what ?! That has to be fake ! 😂
Also, I just want to say, Chris is keep up the good work ! You're my go-to guy when it comes to movie news and just loving what you're doing on the channel.
Buddy I’m sorry to say but it’s real. Apparently the context is that Tom has a holographic disguise and he’s switching through different ones
@@alwaysawesome216 oh I hope that's the case, sounds fine Enough

8:31 Maybe Blu ray exclusive...? You know, dvds has extra short films and contents in them, so like, mabye these scenes are Blu ray exclusive?
Honestly it can be an on off type of thing there can be movies where he is part of it and some movies where hes not part of it
Shadows popcorn bucket instead 🔥🔥
Honestly, I think they need to let Carrey retire, he deserves it at this point. That, and maybe they could write Stone as a new villain? That could give the writers some new story avenues to go down.
I believe he stated he wanted to be in the movie. Forgive me if I am wrong.
30 years from now, Jim, pushing into his 90s in almost all the movies.
Fans: "will Jim be in sonic 20?"
Atleast he will be able to play Gerald without any prosthetics 😂
People are mad Sonic doesn’t take itself serious? Are these really Sonic fans?
Personally i think its gonna be a fun movie and i cant wait to take my two sons in Christmas. Its a tradition of ours to go to the theaters on Christmas.
Cool video I love the sonic popcorn bucket
2:15 it's not a bucket, it's a soda cup lol
@ I agree
@@dingbat5231 Thanks!
It should never win academy award for this...?!
The sentence "sonic head seems lazy" is wild to me 😂
What if during the end credits, they have all the characters dance to the new song and then Shadow start bussin out sum moves that shocks Sonic? Am I the only one that would think that would be hilarious?
No you are not dude Shadow dancing ain't something I'd be expecting to see. 😂
Gerald doesn’t look like the type of guy who wants to end the world after Maria’s death… after watching those scenes
I bet he will show his true colors later in the film.
@@AetherStryfeHopefully, because it's not looking like it right now 😅
@@Reyna_Amaturi That's the point. It's supposed to be a plot twist.
dont get where these people are coming from. like i want a badass sonic movie where shadow battles sonic on the moon thats a bout to explode or smtg like that, but like, even the trailers show how goofy the movie is. this version of sonic is much more family friendly, and it was obvious that the third movie wont take that much of a tonal whiplash
Yeah it’s more family friendly but it’s still extremely game accurate and they aren’t shying away from shadows tragic back story
They arn't going to fuck up the shadow stuff, none of what we've seen has lead to disapointment
The sonic bucket at regal is the same one being at the amc theaters
WE DO THIS EVERYWHERE WE GO🗣️
I THINK YOU KNOW
@normanmccultureboy6492 THIS AINT NO ONE HORSE RODEO
Sonic fans, are we seriously getting mad about Eggman of all characters having a goofy scene now? come on.
Dude, I’m a sonic fan and I’m not even mad about Eggman Being goofy And I feel like this movie is gonna be great
This is the first I've heard of this, haha.
3 uploads all at once
Fr we being spoiled
You can’t really take the sonic fans seriously. They want to cheer when a little girl gets shot. Let eggman dance
Expected a Seriously breathtaking film. That guy needs some sun. It’s about a blue humanoid hedgehog lighten up😂😂😂
I have a thoery that krysten ritter's Character will eventually turn into rouge the bat somehow but seeing that pic of Tom's sonic eyes at 9:42, it will probably turn true, unless the pic is fake then again depends on what crazy experiments Gerald got up to
Paramount has really spoiled the entire movie at this point
That's just standard film marketing at this point. I remember when the last 2 Transformers movies had trailers that didn't spoil much.. and those movies struggled.
I’m tired of the “its for kids” argument. Its a weak counter. Some of the best family movies to date have serious/emotional scenes.
Man I love watching 3CFlims
9:06 He’s completely right. The Mario movie at least never did corny stuff like this
6:11
I fell like Sonic generations could make so they have to face all of their past villains
We are appreciative of what we do get, could it better? Sure, I'm still going to my cup and popcorn better regardless. Been a blast reviewing the first 2 movies, this is going to be a fun movie experience no doubt!
Does cinnepolis in dallas have the sonic mexico bucket
Watch shadow's screentime be a quarter of the movie
Why do you guys treat what happened to marie as some horrific scene that will scar someone? lol. It was a flash bang off-screen shot
