Thanks for the comment! That’s what I was after…most players end up with an understanding of this sound but often don’t see some of the shapes and patterns that are on the instrument. So, while I generally want students to know what notes/intervals they’re playing, it can be helpful to use shape based lessons to acquire new muscle memory and then use our ears (and theory) to understand what’s happening after the shapes are in place. @@jacksnax4guitar460 yes I'm working through these and muscle memory/shapes is helpful and it's also a cool way to reinforce the names of the notes in this part of the neck where I get brain freeze when trying to remember plus I so often play these "scales" starting on the one of the E strings and it's not necessarily the best jumping off or landing point I
Thanks Jack, this is super helpful. I’ve learned the shapes off of the 5th and 6th string roots, but I’m “stuck” there. This will expand my horizons no doubt!
