- Jeremy Renner speaks with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer for his first interview since his scary snow plow accident on New Year’s Day, when he attempted to save his nephew. The 'Avengers' actor opens up about refusing to be ‘haunted’ by the near-death experience, and shares if he dreams of performing his own stunts again. 'Jeremy Renner, The Diane Sawyer Interview: A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph' aired Thursday on ABC.
I knew for some time that he was a good person out of the limelight...I could feel it. And that right there has proven me correct. He thought of his nephew...and later feels so sorry his sister had to see him like that. Plus, his nephew didn't get on the phone and tell them come help Jeremy Renner. He said someone needs help really badly. No name dropping, special treatment, all was sent without originally knowing who it was. THIS is why I tear up with hearing his story...every time. The real down to earth loving bonds.
It wasn't his nephew on the phone to 911 it was the neighbor. The neighbor didn't know who it was laying there as his face was injured and bloody. The nephew didn't tell him who it was either until the neighbor asked if it was Jeremy (who the neighbor had never met).

Jeremy is a real-life superhero, and his nephew is very lucky to have him.
We always say things like “I’d lie in front of a bus” for this kid… for my family…. This man actually did it. Put his nephew’s life literally ahead of his own. He’s the very definition of a saint. I’m glad he lived to tell about it and is on the road to recovery. God bless him.

@@jenniturtleburger3708The nephew was between the truck and the snowcat, because he was removing the chain they used to pull the truck out of the snow.
So glad he got quality care, from the neighbors applying pressure to his wounds to the nurses and docs and others at the hospital, to the physical therapists and his family helping too. Good job, all.
Thank God he survived to tell his story! He’s an amazing actor, singer and songwriter! I truly love how passionate he is about helping others. He’s a real live superhero! He’s down to earth and humble. I can’t wait to have a chance to meet him at Comic Con. It’s not every day you get to meet an actual hero. God bless you always Mr Renner! ❤

Jeremy is wonderful and he's so down to earth. I'm so glad he's getting better. It was a great interview. He's got a great support system and he's a fighter and he didn't give up. Not all superheros wear capes and Jeremy is a superhero in real life.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Nobody see a victim when they hear about his accident. They see a hero. A brave, resilient, and loving hero.
I personally thought her was going to die, because all the articles were saying he was going to. But he made it out. He lived.
It's also daunting to think about what if it was his nephew instead, you know? The outcome could have been very different. That's why he's a hero.
He made a full recovery too! That's crazy!

Thank you universe for allowing him to stay here on earth with us. That man is one of a kind there isn’t men like him in this day and age. His parents should be very proud of the job they did raising such an amazing man… I’d marry him in a heartbeat after losing my husband I haven’t been attracted to anyone but this man wow he definitely does it for me lol

Had he been on a harder surface ,he more than likely wouldn’t have made it ,I’m a retired nurse,I’ve seen traumas like this come into the E.R. he’s damn luckiy to be alive ,and having that fighting spirit and a loving family most definitely helped.

I know many of us know someone or have personally shown this kind of courage that's never heard about because we aren't celebs. That said, THIS is a lesson in how to adapt and overcome with the resilience and grit, character and integrity that in too large a number has been lost or reduced. Especially, here in the US. Ironically, one of if not the last spot it should be happening relative to the rest of the known world.
Commenting on his own comment? Who does that?!? 🕺⬅️ does 😜. That undoubtedly expensive advanced rehabilitation treadmill Jeremy was on was some badass stuff. Maybe I'm just on the wrong side of 40 and I'm pathetically unaware of this technology or it's one of those things only able to be utilized by those with Marvel hero 💵💸 . Have ant of u ever seen or used that treadmill tyle device he was using. I heard him say that it was somehow allowing him to only use about 20% of his bodyweight while walking. Considerably quick pace I thought, relative to his injuries and incident. Although, I don't know how long after his injuries that video was taken so I guess that progress could be subpar. Anyway, if any of u have experience or knowledge of that treadmill, SOUND OFF! I'm a nerd about this stuff. I'd like to know more from someone who's used it. Please 🙏🥺
@@BenSmith-mg5jv My contact had completed knee and leg surgery, the rehab here in New Jersey was state of the art,and it was similar to the type Jeremy is using! She is not a millionaire but she is my Super Hero! Most well equipped rehabs have modern equipment 😊

Luckiest man alive, just grateful that he didn’t wind up in a wheelchair and disable the rest of his life. I’m so glad that his nephew was saved And on Unharmed… We all have nephews, and remember them as babies no matter how old they are they’re still gonna be babies…. People in that situation they’ll do anything for their loved ones even if it was a friend or a stranger he would’ve done the same thing without thinking and who wants to be the one that I would’ve I could’ve and they didn’t do enough… He just momentarily forgot he wasn’t a superhero…

Pretty dumb…his nephew was in a truck designed to save a passenger who crashes going 60 plus mph. Modern vehicles have so many safety features. His nephew was never in any danger at all. He nearly killed himself for nothing. Never try to jump into a run away vehicle if any kind, you’ll most likely just get dragged under it.
