So this phone for a student like me is FU*KING PERFECT, yup you heard me. UI is the best simple, elegant and not power hungry. No bloatware *cough* samsung *cough* . Low light mode is superb. Because it's not a high end phone nor is it a qualcomm chipset. It's stupid really to think that they expect the best for the least amount of money. I have one the phone works great just because of the chipset there are problems with most games as programmers aren't making designing games for the intel soc

I love this phone! Got it about a week ago. The camera is superb. I've taken photos that my friends think I downloaded from the internet because they're so crystal clear. I have tons of apps running at once and I never experience lag. The screen is vivid and bright. There's a built-in call recorder function which I've never seen on any other device. I paid $200 for this phone without a contract and it's hands down one of the best purchases I've ever made. It really should be impossible that this phone comes with some many awesome specs for such a low price. I couldn't be more happy with this phone.
Exactly right. I've this phone too and it feels like another flagship phone with 2 gb of ram. Apparently the phone is so underrated. His review also sucks in my opinion cuz he talks like the phone is very bad when the fact is that it's just as good as moto g if not better in some aspects.
synergestic It's definitly better than the Moto G if you look at the specs. Also the screen is bigger and the intel processor does a great job saving battery life if you're not using power heavy features. The GPU is great for 2d effect which makes every animations buttery smooth, smoother than the GS5 or some other flagship phones (granted those do have to run 1080p+ resolutions). A lot of phone for the money all around.
Zenfone 5 has two CPU variations, A500 and A501, the CPU is clocked at 2.0ghz on the A500 while the A501 is clocked at 1.6ghz. From a pure performance perspective this a small difference, one that the general-user will find very hard to notice, but there is a major catch, due to various reasons the clockspeed's sweetspot of this particular phone is around 1.5ghz. If the sweetspot gets surpassed the CPU starts to leak a lot of energy in the form of heat requiring more energy-power to function correctly thus resulting in a extremely bad overall battery performance. Which takes us to my point, people that are reporting good battery life have the 1.6 variation and people that are reporting a bad battery experience are probably using the 2.0 variation.
I just got the asus zenfone today , and I like it. Very smooth and buttery. Real racing 3 works great. I don't know what this dude is talking about but high graphic games works fine on mine. I will upload a video later to show you.
This phone is so strong , i have this phone for 4 years , and it still working great , and i heavily charge and phone and play while charging , for 2 years , and it still work great ! I don't know if the intel make this asus great or it just asus quality , i love this phone!
After 2 years it couldn't access to UA-cam anymore, the battery goes down with lightning speed, and processor speed is slow. But still surprised it still works.
I did my research...i just bought a zenny 5 #teamblack The battery isn't an issue. It depends on your usage. The speakers could be louder but it's good. The camera is awesome and the phone itself isn't laggy. It feels great on the hands but it heats up some. So far very satisfied!
I dont believe in this review! I am watching this review right now using my Zenfone 5. He said that this phone is laggy and not good in gaming performance in which is not true! Im playing HD intensive games using my zenfone 5 like asphalt 8, Gta vice city and nba2k14 and MC4. but this phone runs all of this games smoothly without facing any problems! And for your information, this phone has already received a kitkat update(4.4.2)! the only bad thing about this phone is the battery. But still the battery is not that bad.

I am facing a problem with the Zenfone 5. While using 3G data plan I find the connection switching between 3G and 2G quite often. Unable to understand whether it is the problem with the 3G connection or with the Zenfone 5 set. In one video the user says it is a problem of the Zenfone 5 handset. This problem persists even after Kitkat update. Please help to sort out this problem, if possible.
interesting how that quick setting menu looks as well as it's customization is so blatantly taken from the BB10 OS. But can't hate them for taking something that works very well and is very practical.

I have an Asus Zenfone 5 16gb. All seems fine except that the battery drains much faster than my previous phone. Even on standby mode it still drains quite faster than usual android phones. All of which even though I turn the power saving mode on. It even charges slower than my previous phone. It's like 1/2 hour or 2 hours. For the gaming; I'm not that of a gamer type of user when it comes to smartphones but I'm playing "REAL RACING 3" on my zenfone 5. So far it only lags very little. The corning gorilla glass 3 is not really effective. I've only used my phone for about 1 week and yet it had a minor scratches. I haven't drop it or and my pocket doesn't have anything else beside my phone. So I recommend you to apply a screen protector or a case. The ZenUI is very unique and beautiful. The rear camera (8mp) is very clear for me. Even the front(2mp) camera too is clear. The phone's processing speed is faster than any of its competitors on its price range. I rate this phone 7.5/10. If you have a mid range budget for a new smartphone I recommend you to buy this phone. :)
i have bougt zenfone 5 with android kitkat 4.4.2 inside the box.. My problem is i didnt move my apps to my sd card, yeah in the apps it said that it was shared in the sd card but shared in the external sd card is just a little, the large file is in the internal storage. Bluetooth mp3 and downloads from browser is also going to the internal memory of the phone and i cannot move it to external using file explorer. Majority in the external sd card was cameras pictures and videos. in the battery? Just do all u know how to make ur battery longer..like off location,off data when not in use,decrease brightness etc. After weeks or months i have just adjusted to its battery life and accept that it can run atleast 1 day and half only or sometimes a bit longer. its a great budget phone. i dont agree of some things mention by the reviewer :) subscribed to Android Authority :) Camera is also good in this price range and it has own camera features.

I'm interested in trying out this phone however I have an important question. On almost all the listings the phone is listed as only having WCDMA bands for 3G. However GSMarena.com lists the phone as having HSPA+ bands... Can anyone tell me if the get HSPA+ on this phone in the US?
I am having SERIOUS PROBLEMS with this phone it has ' dual sim' slots and it doesn't recognise EITHER sim. It was described as ' UNLOCKED' when I purchased it , I contacted the company I bought it from and they said it might be that it only accepts ' certain sims' but couldn't tell me which- which blows as I thought the whole point of ' unlocked' and especially 'dual' sim is it accepts ANY sim from any country . That the dual function allows you to keep your normal sim in while you use a foreign sim at the same time. It recognises the imprinted number on my 'contract ' sim , but when I tried to call that number from my land line nothing happened. I put in a pay as you go sim in the second slot and that recognised the company but not the number. I don't have signal bars for either siim, I have already tried ' factory reset' and nothing changed. I can't send the phone back and wouldn't feel right selling a phone someone can't use, and I really had high hopes for this phone but have seen other posts that this is an issue for others too. I hope you can help Thanks

I got my zenfone 5 1month ago and I never experience hang or logging. So Smooth and so fast. And its value for money as well. I love this phone so much. I trust Asus coz the processor is atom which is under the Intel inside so just like the computer or laptop ur phone. The priced is cheap but the specs so awesome and great. You have 2gb ram which is not bad and 8gb and 16gb for internal. And check out the benchmark so unbelievable coz the ram speed is so fast. The Asus Zenfone 5 is so nice and very good smartphone. :-)
i bought asus fonepad 7 with 1.6GHz intel processor and 1 GB Ram.. it was a wonder tablet with sim support ... but some high end games were laggy and some werent ... i researched a bit and finally concluded tht it was bcuz of intel processor !! Intel is new to android world... and many app devs are yet to fully make intel compatible!! basically this zenfone must be awesome!!

Good phone I just ordered one and arrived this me this morning. Overall the zenfone5 is a pretty decent smartphone considering its affordable price. I got the Z2560 1.6ghz dual core intel atom and got a benchmark score of 19472 (Antutu) and 8737 (Quadrant). What I don't like about this device is no backlight for soft touch panel keys. I just hope a official 4.4 kitkat update would be release for for this phone via OTA real soon.

I have the LG Spirit (H440n). It has a 720p screen. It was cheap and feel find to use, but it's a bit slower than I was expecting as it's quite slow. And the 8GB internal storage is just too little as the OS and stuff I can't move to the SD card makes it go full all the time, and I can't update things anymore. It's extremely annoying (I have moved the apps I can and all pictures and videos are on the SD card). So I was thinking about this ASUS model instead, but as it doesn't have 4G, I don't think so, that's something the LG actually has.
It is okay to buy Asus Zenfone 5 because I had no problem with the performance especially in games. I don't know why Zenfone 5 is too lag for games. But I saw another video the gaming performance is okay.

Same here. I don't understand that either. I experience no lag with gaming or multitasking. And the sound is excellent.
Fone works even better when you set it to automatically download app's to sd card.

***** It's very less. Given my usage, my phone doesn't last longer than 10 to 11 hours. And I don't have any games installed too.

I can't send the phone back and wouldn't feel right selling a phone someone can't use, and I really had high hopes for this phone but have seen other posts that this is an issue for others too.

I got my zenfone 5 1month ago and I never experience hang or logging. So Smooth and so fast. And its value for money as well. I love this phone so much. I trust Asus coz the processor is atom which is under the Intel inside so just like the computer or laptop ur phone. The priced is cheap but the specs so awesome and great. You have 2gb ram which is not bad and 8gb and 16gb for internal. And check out the benchmark so unbelievable coz the ram speed is so fast. The Asus Zenfone 5 is so nice and very good smartphone. :-)
Would it last over 10 years till 2024? I'd hope so because my Zenfone is still usable in 2022.

i bought asus fonepad 7 with 1.6GHz intel processor and 1 GB Ram.. it was a wonder tablet with sim support ... but some high end games were laggy and some werent ... i researched a bit and finally concluded tht it was bcuz of intel processor !! Intel is new to android world... and many app devs are yet to fully make intel compatible!!

Good phone I just ordered one and arrived this me this morning. Overall the zenfone5 is a pretty decent smartphone considering its affordable price. I got the Z2560 1.6ghz dual core intel atom and got a benchmark score of 19472 (Antutu) and 8737 (Quadrant). What I don't like about this device is no backlight for soft touch panel keys. I just hope a official 4.4 kitkat update would be release for for this phone via OTA real soon.

I have the LG Spirit (H440n). It has a 720p screen. It was cheap and feel find to use, but it's a bit slower than I was expecting as it's quite slow. And the 8GB internal storage is just too little as the OS and stuff I can't move to the SD card makes it go full all the time, and I can't update things anymore. It's extremely annoying (I have moved the apps I can and all pictures and videos are on the SD card). So I was thinking about this ASUS model instead, but as it doesn't have 4G, I don't think so, that's something the LG actually has.

It is okay to buy Asus Zenfone 5 because I had no problem with the performance especially in games. I don't know why Zenfone 5 is too lag for games. But I saw another video the gaming performance is okay.

Its fast and efficient but the battery life sucks use for 2 hours from 100% it drains to 30% have to charge atleast 2 times a day
