Hello Otto thanks for reviewing OM4 using an Android Phone. I not even found a single person who made a review of OM4 using Android phones. Your video helped me today. Now I can confidently order OM4
OMG, this is awesome. "Think of the gimbal as a glass of water." Great tip. And good one about locking the focus so the auto doesn't start looking for everything else when you come over the bridge. I'm really thinking of picking up one of these things now. I'll just need to get a better phone! Oh yeah, when I saw the transition from one clip to another with the tree separating them? That was amazing. I want to learn how to do that. I'm going to go upstairs and watch this on my big screen now. And then my daughter and I are going out for our weekly trip to the grocery store. (I'll practice my ninja walk.) Great job on another one Otto!
LOL Thank you Matt. You know I was actually going to show the glass of water but then I thought about the potential mess with so many cables around the floor that I just gave up. The tree transition was fun, that took away a lot of time because there were some "details" that I was not aware of (it was behaving strangely) Good luck with your visit to the grocery store! If anyone asks why you are walking in a funny way just show them the video! LOL. I still have your last video on my watch later list, so sorry, but I was busy trying to get this video out this morning.
@@OttoJulian_ Ha! I know I've been putting out a lot of videos lately. And I appreciate you watching; just don't ever feel obligated. I'm sure they can be boring for non-fly tiers. :-)

Hiii otto...... nice video i purchased after ur video..... why its showing 30fps in dji app my phone is capable of 24 fps...... all the features not usable if used in stock or filmic pro camera plz do let me know.... wats the video intro song name????
Hello Leo! When using the Mimo app you will be limited to 30fps. My shots were taken that way and I modified them on edit. The only way to shoot 24fps or any other with Android is by using the native app from the smartphone. This doesn't happen with an iPhone and I'm not sure why this is this way. hi there!! you are welcome! I've been planning to do a few videos on the OM4, but have been caught with other videos. I am not familiar with that app that you mentioned, I tried searching for it on my Google Play and it doesn't show up.
This is a great video, although I will admit I was confused for a little while! What you are wore while you are talking was pretty similar to what Mike wore on the day that you two filmed the examples, so I got quite a few minutes into the tutorial until I realized who was who!
Txs for your review mate.. appreciate the effort you putting in... please help me..I just bought osmo 4... Does bluetooth always needs to be turned on? Can internet connectivity n location be turned off and will it still work?
Thank you! If you want to use the MIMO app, then Bluetooth will need to be on. Location services is supposed to help locate the device faster but I don't turn it on anymore. Not sure if it is "mandatory" just the first time you connect your phone with the OM 4
Great content and instructions Otto, especially like like the way you take time to explain, as a new user of the OM4 and my first gimbal I have found very informative watching your videos. Please keep producing more 🙏

Hello, great video! I have one question though. How often do you hold the trigger button to lock all axis? Did you use that in any of the shots of this video? Thanks!
Hello!! I press the trigger quite often. For example on the shots where i need a straight movement like following a person or a path. Otherwise the gimbal might change the direction slightly
Hello, Otto. Question: I want to use a protective case with my OM4...I have the S9+. I know you have the S20+. If you did use a case, which would you recommend that would allow the same functionality with the OM4?

kind of weird that this comment popped up all of the sudden on my comments list. 9 months ago...huh.... sorry I never replied. I guess you got a tripod by now?
@@muhammadsalisu8868 that would be a regular size tripod! Look in the video description on "everyday gear". There is a small tripod that I like for traveling but it's not regular size. Then the one that says carbon fiber is pretty good for around $100. There are cheaper ones but they are usually not very "time resistant". The one I use is a Manfrotto BeFree but it's more expensive
@@OttoJulian_ thank you I also want to use mic what type should I buy because if the phone should balanced well and am using a mic it will distorts the balance
Hey, I'm currently using the galaxy Note 20 with my DJI OM 4. Looking to add the Moment case a lens. But online I'm seeing that it might not be compatible any suggestions?
I think that your Note 20 with the Moment lens are going to be close to the maximum payload that the OM4 can handle, therefore giving you some trouble. I think that the lens is a great addition to your smartphone and I would buy it anyway but knowing that it might not work along with the gimbal
I can't decide what should i buy?? Om4 or zhiyun smooth Q3??! I'm thinking about om4's power bank ... is it more important than the easy change mode in smooth Q3 ?! Or not.... in other hand when we making film with smartphone ,it runs out of power very soon... and using external power bank means to stop filming and wait for at least half an hour ,and in travel filming it may causes to lose some good views on the way...I don't know what to do🤦🏻♀️could you please help me to make a good decision?!😥🙏🏻
Hello Mahla, you have a strong point about the powerbank. for traveling I think the OM4 would be a nice option if you really feel like you are going to be using it for extended times. I also find the magnetic clip to be very convenient when traveling, since I can remove and place the phone back to the gimbal in just a second. Bare in mind that charging and using the phone with the OM4 will work best when the phone is on horizontal mode. Vertical mode might have some problems depending on the phone and cable combination.
@@OttoJulian_ yeah ...you're right otto... i heard somethings about applications and its change mode.... I don't know how much are they(om4 & smooth q3) different and how much is this important... they made me confused too
I thought you already watched my video comparing the 2 of them. Changing mode with the buttons is very useful (if you constantly need to change modes)... but like I said, it's all about having a good gimbal that adapts to your needs and/or style
@@OttoJulian_ I watched it ,I think I should whatch it again, cause my english is not so good i may didn't understand the details ....thank you for replying and helping 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yeah I had that gimbal and it was stiffer in my opinion. I think that OM4 is just more "sensitive" to movements but I had no problem getting used to it after a couple of tries
Hello Tyrie! It shouldn't be moving side to side! make sure you are placing the magnet on the right spot, place the phone while the gimbal is sitting on the tripod, and finally I would suggest making a calibration (go into the menus for this)
I use it with Android. The gimbal is good. If you use the mimo app it does have some limitations, but you can always ditch the app and use the camera regular app. Most useful functions will still keep working, except others like zoom etc
Hi. No it can't roll 360° but I don't think that smartphone gimbals can, only bigger gimbals (as far as I know). This movement is not 100% necessary unless you need to make a shot where the smartphone keeps spinning.
@@OttoJulian_ I think the Hohem Steady x can do the 360 roll. I'm deciding whether to buy that or the Osmo Mobile 4. It seems that the stabilization of the OM4 is better. What do you recommend me?
@@mundosdigitales1I've been testing the iSteady for the last days, it can't do 360. But it will roll to around 250°, but the camera will see the motor when you go that far so it's not something that you can use (tested with iPhone 12, regular camera). The OM4 will spin/roll to around 200°. Both gimbals have cool things that I like. Next week I'll have the review of the iSteady X, and probably soon after I'll compare the 2 gimbals.
@@OttoJulian_ Once again thanks for responding. I have one question left. I have seen videos showing the Hohem iSteady x with the handle pointing towards the ground. Then they pick it up and the phone turns 180 degrees. I do not know the usefulness of that movement but it must serve for something other than engraving the grass or the feet. Can the om4 do that?
@@mundosdigitales1 I think you are talking about when the phone gets like upside down (phone close to the ground). That is the underslung mode, so you can shoot close to the ground or any surface. Yeah the OM4 will do that too
Great cinematic content bro! Vsiting you here. I'll Wait for you to vsit back. Got B-roll and Cnematic stuff as well. Do check the Sardines cooking B-roll and Pandemya one. See you there. Take care
A good stabilizer is supposed to allow for sudden movements and maintain the smoothness of the film, but this is not the case with this Gimbal, if you have to move in slow motion and you have to walk as if on eggs, what is then the benefit of having one? I want to move normally and the Gimbal solves the stabilization, this Gimbal does not.
Well said, but even bigger pro-sumer gimbals have this issue. I used the Zhiyun webill to show this at the beginning. If the operator moves too much it will produce shaky footage. What you see with most cinematic shots have been fixed in post with warp.

Hello! Thank you!
I think that the lens is a great addition to your smartphone and I would buy it anyway but knowing that it might not work along with the gimbal
anyone knows where can i order the metal magnet????
DJI website or Amazon
Sure you are welcome. You can activate English subtitles it may help ( I fix all English subtitles so they should be 99% good)
Hello Otto Julian interessanti i tuoi video prova a caricare i sottotitoli in italiano👍🏻
Italian subs, ready!
Why do I find it easier to use the dji osmo 2 than the om4, there is less shakiness on the osmo 2 as well
Yeah I had that gimbal and it was stiffer in my opinion. I think that OM4 is just more "sensitive" to movements but I had no problem getting used to it after a couple of tries
Please tell when is om5 launching
no news about that yet. Maybe towards the end of 2021?
Can you tell me what mobile can I buy my mobile is having last days of its life
You are the best UA-cam who replies my all questions yesterday I commented you on MYRA AYAN account
Difficult question! It depends on your budget and what you are looking for !
@@OttoJulian_ ok what experience you have from your s20 you always show in your videos
Hey how can I get it to stay still it keeps turning side to side
Hello Tyrie! It shouldn't be moving side to side! make sure you are placing the magnet on the right spot, place the phone while the gimbal is sitting on the tripod, and finally I would suggest making a calibration (go into the menus for this)
@@OttoJulian_ Oh OK I’ve been trying for like almost a month to get it just to sit still street I think is doing like a 360 turn

@@jaysoncam6778 you are welcome!
How to create transition at 07:08 ?
7:08 is the end of the video
Otto, one question. Are you Latino or Phillipino?
hi, I have a mix in my blood...don't even know where to start...long story lol
Is it good for using android??
I use it with Android. The gimbal is good. If you use the mimo app it does have some limitations, but you can always ditch the app and use the camera regular app. Most useful functions will still keep working, except others like zoom etc
@@OttoJulian_ does it has dynamic zoom bro??? I use huawei
Dynamic zoom doesn't work very well on Android (at least not on my Samsung S20+). Tomorrow I will try it out on an iPhone. Thanks
@@OttoJulian_ OK bro love your video 👌 keep it going I'm waiting for next video
Cool Rio! Thank you!
Hi. Apparently the om4 can't roll 360 degrees. Is that true? Is this movement necessary? Can it be corrected?

Hello...

Hello!!! Thanks for watching!
