I am sewing at the kitchen table. So feel blessed. I was keeping my fabric in our clothes closet. I homeschool my kids and we and a school room so I putting up storage in the school room currently to try to come up with more storage. My fabric addiction is out of control as is my notion addiction. My next house will have a sewing room just for me. (Fingers crossed 🤞 and lots of prayers) lol I am clicking my heels 👠 20 times. Lol
In our old house, I sewed in our formal dining room. Before that it was our breakfast area. Make the most of the space that you are currently in! * fingers crossed for you! *
Just stumbled across your blog & ended up here. I am not a patient person & usually watch videos chopped up because I don't have a lot of patience to just & listen to every detail but that being said I absolutely through enjoyed this video. Loved the 2 x 4 for making the desk work-so something I would do. Huge thank-you I am now subscribed to your channel, blog & whatever else I could..lol yes I will be stocking you until I catch up with all your postings & videos-no worry I am pretty harmless. ♥
Suggestion!:: While you are waiting to find your perfect legs for those two bookshelves toss the 2x4's. Go and get a 4x4 and vote to length, same as the 2x4's were. Paint them white to match the shelves. Then withe your amazing paint skills, paint designs all over them, like starts or you sayings. Be sure and sand all sides and ends smooth first. .wahlah, custom, one of a kind legs that are strong.
Your video touched a chord inside of me. I have been quilting since 2004 and it is so easy to let your space get out of control. I went through the same process and donated a ton of stuff. I use the saying if the clutter steals my joy then it has to go. I really enjoyed your video and have become a new subscriber. I look forward to more videos. Your room is beautiful. TFS
Oh my goodness, I have all this ahead of me! Not sure whether to laugh or cry... however it must be done. I have a good sized sewing room but am sewing in the dining room! Hubby is not happy 😬 and tbh nor am I. Main problem is layout, hampered by lge built in wardrobes and wall to wall window. My repairman recommended that the machines not be right in front of the window because of condensation, but thats where the best light is. However there was a little rust forming on the throat plate so I may have to follow his advice. Will also have to declutter, hurts just saying it,lol! All the best with your lovely new space, I’m going to hack some of your ideas so thanks in advance! Much love from South Australia 👍😊💐
I really enjoyed your tour i have watched many different ones and yours felt the most honest with its trials and tribulations. I love craft of many kinds because i always like to "Have a Go" I rarely comment but just really wanted to in this case x
Hello from Vienna, Austria. I am in the same situation, I want to change my sewingroom in the attic and I am looking for the perfect solution, but now I possible knew what I could do. So thank you for the inspiration and I wish you all the best. Yvonne
I wasn't a part of the book launch (though now I am wishing that I was!) I met Jenny at a conference. She is a beautiful woman and I loved everything about her!
Hi christen great job I want to also change some things in my sewing room can you give me the name of that program you use to rebuild your storage space, love your embroidery machine, which on is that one? You give me motivation to redo my room lol 😂😂😂😂
oh gosh, I haven't used the program since I did this project... it was a free app on android for furniture rearranging. There was an ad free version that would allow you to save the images or add in a few custom upgrades etc... I just took screen shots. Please don't judge me lol 🤣 I have since deleted the app. I'm sorry!
What space design app did you use? We are moving into a new home in April and one bedroom has been designated “Sewing Room.” I am so excited to move in and organize the space.
I used a room layout app... I don't remember the name of it. It did what I wanted, but it wasn't the easiest of programs to play with.... however, it was free... How exciting for you! That is such a wonderful blessing to have your own space!
Why not use the 2X4s for the legs? My hubby did this for his record shelving and he painted them black to match; you might also be able to slide baskets under them:)
Because that would be too easy, right? :) haha I may resort to that soon. I had in my mind a cute little rounded leg, but the 2x4s would be a better temporary situation than what I have right now!
That was a really hard decision for me! In the end, I found a good home for the cabinet where it will be used in a nursery instead of as a craft cabinet for all my kids art mess! 😆
Hello, I'm about to move in a place where I'll have a sewing/craft room and I'm very interested in that room layout app, do you remember its name? Thanks a lot!

Hi Yvonne! So exciting that you are working on your own space! Best of luck!
What a fun video! You did such a nice job. It is so fun to get your sewing space fixed up. I am working on mine, too.
Thanks so much! Good luck with your sewing space. It is worth the effort!
Yes do a tutorial on the ornament. That looks so fun!
Already done 🥰 You can watch it and follow along here: ua-cam.com/video/_PZKIfoDzYw/v-deo.html
Such a fun video! But what a fun surprise to see my friend Jenny's book!! Love her! Were you a part of the book launch with me & I didn't realize it?

Thanks for sharing your room makeover. How large is your room?
It is a bedroom size. About 13 feet squared.
There is no way you could have made me part with the huge storage cabinet…..HA!
It is called Floor Plan Creator. It is a free app... so it is not without its faults! Good luck on your new space! That is so exciting!
@@ISeeStarsQuilting Thanks!
I find legs at quality lumber yards and cabinet/door suppliers
What a good idea! I will have to check some in the area because I am still using the 4×4 method to hold it up 🤣
Lets hope and pray it is not a support wall. LOL
I would die to have a « craft room all to myself….perhaps in a other life?
I don't clean I sew is my come back
Yessssss.... lol mine is usually that I am not the only person who lives here 🤷♀️
I would have died for what you got rid of woman!
I did make sure it went to good homes where it can be used! 😉😘
