    I’m admiring a couple things. The sewing machine cover that is so pretty. The pin cushion with a set of decorative pins in it. Love those.

      @@ISeeStarsQuilting we have a lot in common. There will always be messy craft rooms, or messy closets. As you say, that’s just the way it is.

    LOVE your remodel. Your sewing room is fantastic! WOW!!! Congratulations. I'm terrible at organizing my stuff. I was doing okay with my stuff until I inherited my aunts sewing stuff. Now I can't seem to get ahead of the mess. Every now and then I stop and make a bunch of cat/dog beds out of my scraps and that really helps. It's a lot of work and sometimes doesn't fit into my plans, but it's got to be done in order to alleviate the scraps! Thank you so much for sharing. This is inspirational!

      Thank you for watching! Scraps are such a big thing to wrangle. You could check into some local sewing groups... They may be happy to take some off your hands when you feel like you're drowning 😜 also, my sewing space doesn't always look pretty and clean lol I make messes too!

    I like it !!
    I like the fact you placed your desk in the closet, added a cabinet, and that is a gorgeous light pendant.

    Fabulous, I love it! I'm lucky enough to have a dedicated room for my quilting, etc. but it's much smaller than yours, just a spare bedroom 11 x 11. But I still realize that I'm fortunate because a lot of people have to use the dining room table, so I'm absolutely not complaining! However, you've given me some good ideas, especially the idea of removing the door and gutting the interior of the closet. There is so much wasted space in there, and you showed me that it's possible!

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  3 роки тому

      Wonderful! I'm so glad some of my ideas helped. Yes, I'm very lucky to have this dedicated space. I used my formal dining room for many years.

    I think you have the perfect sewing/craft room! Some of my faves are how you keep you star FQ's and mini bolts separate! I noticed your book of constellations and I love the subtle use of your star theme, including the light over your desk throughout your space. I keep my FQ's in color coded baskets and the coral basket is full of polka dots, I could't separate them. :)
    I have a very small bedroom that I use for my sewing room so I have to be careful about what I keep, so I only do quilting and UA-cam, oh, and real estate, LOL. Several of my Ikea pieces have multiple uses because of the small room.
    I love, love, love seeing that you took out the closet and converted it to a better use. I plan on doing that very thing with my closet next year. I'm going to use Ikea wardrobes or shelving to fill the space to make it more useable.
    Now I do have a longarm studio in my garage, even though I had it heated and air conditioned it is still a garage. One of the challenges with a small older home.
    Keep producing your videos. I enjoy them & your cute personality. :)

      Thank you. I didn't always have this room or this space. I'm very lucky, but I used to sew in my breakfast nook with a rolling cart crammed with all my tools! I still made pretty quilts back then too... do the best with the space you have!

    You did an AMAZING job on your sewing/quilting room remodel. Very well thought out, great placement of the tables and shelves. the little touches of (fake) plants and knick knacks. It doesn't feel like a sewing room, it feels like a home. Well Done!

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  Рік тому

      I do not have a video on how I made it because... its super simple 🤷‍♀️ I had a scrap piece of shelving plywood in my garage from an old project. I used a staple fun and covered it with (I think?) 3 layers of batting... enough to make it cushy. Then I wrapped it in a fabric that I really loved at the time. Super simple. I'm planning a video in the new year of simple DIY things around my sewing room that I have created. I'll make sure I add that to the list so you can see a closer look at it. It's not fancy, but it does the job!

    My cutting table is in the middle of the room. How do you press or cut large pieces of fabric when the table is up against the room? Thanks for a great tour and so many ideas.

    • @ISeeStarsQuilting
      @ISeeStarsQuilting  Рік тому +1

      My table being up against the wall isn't my favorite, honestly. I usually end up pulling it out a little so the fabric can slide off the edge and down the side. We need way more elbow and ruler room when cutting large fabric!
