Visually speaking, this is my favorite OP! The screenshot of Shiratorizawa and Karasuno walking towards the net w/ the lightning gives me chills every single time! The OP that gives me the most nostalgia for Haikyuu is PHOENIX by BURNOUT SYNDROMES. I can't wait to start season 3 with you all!!

this is my favorite opening! i'm glad you guys liked it too! My faves: 1. Ushijima (yes, roids, don't judge me he's actually precious) 2. Tsukki 3. Someone who hasn't appeared in the show yet : P
I belive the 'shiratori' in 'Shiratorizawa' technically means 'Swan' but it uses the kanji for 'white' and 'bird' so the team and especially Ushijima Wakatoshi (Ushiwaka) is often depicted as a big and strong white eagle. So the theme for this match is very much 'A bunch of small crows vs a big and strong eagle' not that the rest of his team are weak or won't get any spotlight, but he is in focus the same way Oikawa was in focus for Seijoh.
1. Tendo - as a goalie this man embodies the satisfaction i get from shutting it the attack. 2. Tsukki - what growth, what a moment, so cheeky and yet so analytical 3. I wish I i could give all of Johzenji messing around and having fun and putting up a fight with their wild style, but as individuals they don't hold up... So 3. Iwaizumi, on rewatch he just does so much for the team, he's like Daichi back there in defence and he's also the ace, and he keeps Oikawa in check. Honourable mentions: Kuro the Machiavellian motivator, Bokuto the most delightfully lovable Himbo, and a season 4 spoiler Mr Ice Cold himself Kita.
Hinata, Oikawa, Yachi. Hon. mention is Tsukki. These are based on who had the most impact on me in watching the series. That Shoyo from the concrete just goes too damn hard. And the long set from Oikawa where he points to Iwaizumi will always give me chills.

Karasu means a crow and Shiratori means a white bird in Japanese . So Shiratorizawa’s symbol is a white eagle! I live in Japan , so I am glad to enjoy Haikyuu!! Actually, haikyuu spells 排球 in Japanese so it means volleyball!
Season 3 is my personal favourite season because of the atmosphere around it in general. All the "behind the scenes" work towards the final really sets a mood and I love it.
There have been professional volleyball players and Olympic athletes and multiple massive reaction channels who have reacted to Haikyuu. You guys are genuinely my favorite of the lot. So much passion and emotion and hype, and even empathy for some of the characters. Couldn’t ask for anything more. Love ya’ll. Fun fact, when I first watched Haikyuu, it was recommended by a good friend and I accidentally watched it in the wrong order. I started Season Three and was highly confused but felt it would be explained in time. Sure enough, I fell massively in love with the show, but if anything, it made me so hyped to go back and see everything I’d missed leading up to this. Favorite characters? OIKAWA, BOKUTO and (by series’ end) HINATA.
Hikare Are is magnificent, it's pure hype in the form of musical notes, I'm so happy you guys reacted to the OP. The OP and ED in Haikyuu are all part of why this show was so great imo Top 3 for me will always be: Players 1. Daichi (he's just such a great foundation. I'd love someone as reliable as him in my life) 2. Tsukishima (the character development for him was magnificent! His characterization was nigh on perfect and I think that every protagonist should have an arc done like his) 3. Ushijima (it's a bias. I have watched so many animes but haikyuu has such a hold on me like carlie said. i get emotional when i watch them play or hear the op’s now, that show will stay in your hearts till forever 😅

I am SO excited for your reactions on the rest of the series, as for the openings I have my top 4, I love all of them and they’re all dear to my heart but I have my top 4 ops , and all for different reasons. 1. Hikari are - visuals, song, overall hype TOP TIER OP 2. Imagination - as the very first op of the series, this song just gets me incredibly emotional everytime, esp spyair’s acoustic ver. on first take, i swear I tear up everytime this comes on 3. Fly high- i mean what else can I say, it’s iconic as hell, almost everyone knows abt this song, whether they know abt haikyuu or not they’ve heard of this song atleast once, it’s THAT iconic and is basically the series’ main theme 4. Pheonix- won’t spoil ofc since this is set in season 4 but contextually the visuals on this op has so much meaning and probably has the most intent behind it amongst all the others esp within the context of the arc that covers season 4 Can’t wait for more reactions from you two!

I’m so happy Daichi is in both of your lists. He’s such an underrated character, I think, because he usually doesn’t get to do the highlight plays that the front line or even Noya gets. He’s so dependable and steady that he’s sometimes taken for granted. Also, Asahi! Another character that is usually overlooked in Karasuno, especially because a lot of fans think of Hinata as Karasuno’s ace because he gets all the narrative focus and flashy plays with Kageyama. Love the Asahi love. My top three are: 1) Tsukki 2) Daichi 3) Oikawa
My top 3 is 1-Hinata 2-Noya 3-Kenma/Akashi/Suga(yeah, they are tied*) *Honestly in the number three spot there are four characters, but one of them would be a spoiler, so it's just going to be the three of them. English is not my first language so i'm sorry if my grammar is bad.
They've reached the peak of the mountain they first fell down in Season 1, but there's a higher peak to reach still... i love the imagery of this OP so much
I like the introverted intelligent characters because i can relate to them the most (maybe not the intelligent part). I like characters who are not considered natural-born prodigies, who may seem disinterested or impassioned but are actually very reliable and rather indispensable to the team. 1. Tsukki - he's snarky but his snarks are harmless and it's funny and satisfying when directed towards and riles up cockier opponents. Plus his arc made me ugly-cry 2. Kenma - he's so loyal to his friends that he'd endure a sport he doesn't really enjoy and gives his all to make sure they can keep winning so they can be happy 3. Kita - i like his discipline. they describe him as not an outstanding player but because of his discipline and hard work he's made himself the most reliable player who almost never makes mistakes-like when he's on court, if you're a teammate, you feel secure, but when you're an opponent, you feel rattled because he (almost) always delivers
Top 3 of seasons 1 and 2, probably Kageyama, Hinata and Tsukki 💜 maybe due to their individual journey during the seasons and how their love for volleyball grows more and more
My top 3 are: 1: Kageyama (he has been my favorite since season 1) 2: Tsukki (he is annoying but i adore him) 3: probably Tanaka but i love Oikawa, Yachi, Yamaguchi, Iwa and Bokuto a lot, so im not sure. Every character in Haikyuu is great so is hard to do a top.

My Top 3 in Haikyu!! are Hinata, Bokuto and Tanaka. Just for context purposes, I will say that I'm a manga reader. But Hinata and Bokuto are VERY set in stone and I don't see them ever changing :D
Can't wait to see Ange destroy the first thing he can grab at each hype moment. My first time watching Haikyuu, I binged all of S3 in one go after finishing the S2 final match. S3 felt like watching a movie and not a season of a show.
Honestly idek who is my top 3 god i love all of them but three characters that have a lot of hold on me is Oikawa, Hinata and Kita shinsuke (you haven't met him yet) but again like all the characters are gems like the whole karasuno characters are my favourite, other teams too😭

Top Three for me: 3. Hinata - Probably the best MC in the history of MCs for me, personally. He has the drive to win and the biggest sunshine attitude. As others describe him "loving life and playing volleyball" 2. Suga - love him when he's being a sweetheart, fell head over heels for him when he's being a troll. 1. Tsukki - I've been drawn to him since he opened his mouth and sassed Kageyama and Hinata lol. I was like, "NOW THIS BOY BRINGS SPICE". Turns out the spice was salt, but It was love at first sight for me. The character development was a very nice bonus, but I'd have given him my undying adoration even if he remained a moody telephone poll of a boy.

One of the reasons for this opening to be so good is because the storyboard for it was done by Shingo Natsume, the director of one punch man season 1.
For me, this is the best season of all, I’ll enjoy seeing it again with you guys

Another character that is usually overlooked in Karasuno, especially because a lot of fans think of Hinata as Karasuno’s ace because he gets all the narrative focus and flashy plays with Kageyama. Love the Asahi love.

I like the introverted intelligent characters because i can relate to them the most (maybe not the intelligent part). I like characters who are not considered natural-born prodigies, who may seem disinterested or impassioned but are actually very reliable and rather indispensable to the team.
1. Tsukki - he's snarky but his snarks are harmless and it's funny and satisfying when directed towards and riles up cockier opponents. Plus his arc made me ugly-cry
2. Kenma - he's so loyal to his friends that he'd endure a sport he doesn't really enjoy and gives his all to make sure they can keep winning so they can be happy
3. Kita - i like his discipline. they describe him as not an outstanding player but because of his discipline and hard work he's made himself the most reliable player who almost never makes mistakes-like when he's on court, if you're a teammate, you feel secure, but when you're an opponent, you feel rattled because he (almost) always delivers

Can't wait to see Ange destroy the first thing he can grab at each hype moment. My first time watching Haikyuu, I binged all of S3 in one go after finishing the S2 final match. S3 felt like watching a movie and not a season of a show.
Honestly idek who is my top 3 god i love all of them but three characters that have a lot of hold on me is Oikawa, Hinata and Kita shinsuke (you haven't met him yet) but again like all the characters are gems like the whole karasuno characters are my favourite, other teams too😭

3. Hinata - Probably the best MC in the history of MCs for me, personally. He has the drive to win and the biggest sunshine attitude. As others describe him "loving life and playing volleyball"
2. Suga - love him when he's being a sweetheart, fell head over heels for him when he's being a troll.
1. Tsukki - I've been drawn to him since he opened his mouth and sassed Kageyama and Hinata lol. I was like, "NOW THIS BOY BRINGS SPICE". Turns out the spice was salt, but It was love at first sight for me. The character development was a very nice bonus, but I'd have given him my undying adoration even if he remained a moody telephone poll of a boy.
