- In this episode of Hermitcraft Season 8, Mumbo builds a giant industrial automatic Minecraft farm to harvest lava for the Minecraft XP farm. This high efficiency Minecraft lava farm allows me to get hundreds of lava buckets in a short space of time. Mumbo Jumbo also lands a sponsorship deal with Tango, and speaks with Grian about Boatem Inc.

I just realised that Tango is technically losing his profits, since by giving Mumbo the iron to build his lava farm to power his XP farm, Mumbo doesn’t need the Pass ‘n Gas anymore

“It’s time to build some farms” + “I need iron” definitely does not mean that he should make his own iron farm.
He wouldn't need so much iron if he did some simple math before building.. this farm would actually be almost 2.5x faster(!) if he used 2.5x less cauldrons! They take about 19 minutes to fill up with lava, he's got about 440 of them and pistons here move about every 16 seconds making it 220/h. Remember, he's got 440 cauldrons that take 20 minutes to fill so only with right clock it could be 1300/h instead of 220/h right now ;))) this farm is nothing but a waste of time and iron

Mumbo, as a content creator I am amazed by the way you make your videos. You could do the most boring thing in Minecraft and still make it interesting for a full 20 minutes and I don't know how you do it. But whatever it is, keep doing it!

Where else should he make them though? They have decided on bases so you should at least look in the base or ask him.
@@leadharsh0616 Not saying they shouldn't be in the canyon. I'm saying that they shouldn't be hidden. I'm saying Cub needs to work on his signage and make his shops more visible. He himself has noted that Hermits have been curious about his Cool Corner, gotten stuck in the powdered snow, panicked, and flew away, never to return, not making any sales. He needs to make his shop signage more visible and clear somehow, both the advertising and the directions on how to safely use the Cool Corner.
Remember how difficult it was for the Hermits to find the Tegg room in the canyon? They kept completely missing it because everything blends into everything else in the canyon. If you're not at the correct angle, you'll never even see the Nether portal room in the canyon. I'm betting Mumbo DID look around in the base and failed to find the dripstone shop, even though it's directly across from the Cool Corner. (I mean, also TFC went to Boatem looking for Harmless Harvests and managed to walk RIGHT OVER IT without seeing it. :-D)
Regarding asking... It's Mumbo and Cub. Their time zones probably don't line up very well. I suspect they're not online frequently together. Mumbo could, of course, ask in the Discord, but he needed dripstone right then, and probably wasn't planning on waiting for Cub to wake up or whatever.
@@MichaelMoore99 getting stuck in cool corner doesn't match with visibility at all. He has a bunch of signs there now which he added in the next episode, but they don't bother to read them. The tegg room was supposed to be difficult to find. He should make it visible so they can easily find it and take the tegg? And again the nether portal isn't a shop. If you come through you may be able to remember. If you don't then you can go back the way you did.

@@leadharsh0616 Why are you getting so aggressive? I made one little amusing comment and you're just attacking me over it. I mentioned the Tegg because it WORKED to camouflage it. But the Tegg that you want to be hidden and a store that you want people to shop at shouldn't BOTH be practically invisible. If you want people to shop at your store, you should make it easy to find. "He has a bunch of signs there now which he added in the next episode, but they don't bother to read them." He put them at angles that people are not inclined to read them. He designed the entrance so it would be coming in from right to left, and curved it clockwise, but he put the sign for the boots on the right wall, which is not where people would easily spot it. The Nether portal isn't a shop, but it IS a high-traffic area.
Your arguments don't make sense to me either, so I'm just dismissing most of them as nonsense.
And I assumed he did look around a bit, sure. Why can't I assume that? He's a reasonable and intelligent person. I would think that he wouldn't be just "Fly into the canyon. Don't see a shop. He doesn't have one." That would seem dumb to me. Sure, he might not have looked around hard enough to find it, but I'm sure he did look around at least a little. He's not stupid, so I made the assumption that he wouldn't act in a stupid way.

@@BHJFilms if you're referring to Mumbo, definitely season 7 and 8, 6 and prior his megabases weren't too detailed or intricate, the sheer scale made them appear more in depth. Don't get me wrong, the were still cool, but say a giant ring in the sky isn't too awe-inspiring

Honestly, he probably has enough excess lava production he might be able to sell it, might need to make a simple iron farm for buckets, or maybe steal from impulse
He could’ve also use blaze rods as fuel… but he wanted to build this farm since the mecanic was announced he just wanted an excuse to do so
@@HuslWusl lava on that scale is actually a really good item to sell. everyone has some type of large smelter and need fuel buying lava buckets is a great way to fuel it without building a bamboo or kelp farm .
I do wonder why he didn’t just offer Tango access to the lava farm in exchange for the iron. Like the sponsorships are hilarious and should continue, but in this case it’s not like the storage system where only Mumbo can use it

19 Stacks of Iron Blocks
1 Stack of Iron blocks = 576 Iron Ingots
19 Stacks of Iron Blocks = 10,944 Iron Ingots
10944 Divided by 2 = 5,472
So that's 5,472 shears, just a little bit more than the 3000 he said he could make :)

I feel like an Iron farm is especially against Peace, Love and Plants by nature. Like, the others rely on spawning conditions that are already happening, but an Iron farm, you gotta go out of your way to create those spawning conditions, just to immediately burn the spawned golems.

The deal you could have made with tango, is that in exchange for him giving you access to all the iron you need, he gets free access to the content made by all your farms. We all know tango like his lava or as he calls it ‘Happy Fun Sause’.
I wonder if Mumbo knows that Impulse also sells iron. Lol the CEO of Boatem is essentially promoting the business of their competitor.

because tango's farm is super fast and makes more iron than he can use himself or really sell. if he didn't agree to sponsoring mumbo, mumbo would have built his own iron farm (probably next to the lava farm.)

Might want to add a shulker box loader to the storage system. Just to make picking up buckets of lava easier. Then you could just put an entire shulker into your fuel system with a shulker unloader.

I love the mindset. anybody else needs fuel for their furnace based xp farm, they make a kelp farm or something where the only thing needed outside the farm itself is crafting the stuff into blocks. not mumbo, no siree. our mumbo makes this exuberant lava farm which required an insane amount of iron for buckets and cauldrons and is generally not as cost effective because it looks cool. perfect.
It'll be way more efficient in the long run, though. Lava buckets are INSANE fuel sources. They just weren't renewable until now.

efficient? not really although; it could also be rigged up to a industrial smelter and a auto-cactus farm to passively store large quantities of exp through continuous smelting.

I'd assume that hermits with off-island industrial areas can ask that certain chunks be spared.
they can save specific chunks to not wipe with the new generation, that was supposed to happen last season with mumbo's whither farm, but they forgot to mark the chunks it was in so it got deleted when the nether was reset.
@@j.c.cannon2112 it wasnt even that, im 90% certain that he built it after the nether was reset for 1.16, they just also prune chunks in the nether regularly to reduce lag, and somehow it got caught up in that

I've never really been the kind of person that makes big builds, especially farms and similar things like trading halls. They're just so complex and big and expensive! The fact that you effortlessly make so many, and do so correctly and efficiently, is really impressive and kinda inspiring haha

I have the issue of never actually building. I make farms like a machine but I can’t seem to design anything. I have a gold farm, iron farm, trading hall, raid farm, ghast farm, stone farm, crimson farm/bonemeal farm, skelly farm, spider farm, drowned conversion farm, auto potion brewer, 5 type tree farm, and a bunch more. Best part is.... i still live in the well inside of a village that died to a zombie infestation. Massive perimeters and hours of circuitry and I still live in like an 8 by 8 hole

Personally, I just do a lot of the designing in a creative world, much like he does. Ya, it can take hours ... but ... pretty sure it can for him as well. Once you got the design all cooked up, it's pretty easy from there. The hardest part is just gathering the resources you need. Though to be honest, I spend way more time gathering resources for just regular none redstone builds. Especially considering I am building most of my builds recently out of deepslate. And surprisingly ... a tunnel bore really isn't that effective in gathering the stuff if that is all you need at the moment. I had to just stop using it and swim out back to mine out the deepslate it missed, totally faster. XD
