    New to the drone world and picked up a Mavic 2 Zoom. Got all the firmware updates completed, drone registered and flown a few times. Amazed at how it handles and the amazing pics and videos. Thanks for the video, I think I've watched it 3 times.

    HIGHLY recommend not installing the props until you're actually ready to fly it. Nothing like an inadvertent start on your table to get your attention. Much safer to do all of the firmware updates and setup with the props not attached.

    Hi Adrian, only one thing about the DJI CARE REFRESH, I think that it´s important that people out of the US know that this CARE PLAN it´s only valid in the region or country that you buy it and register the Refresh plan. I live in Mexico City and the DJI REFRESH CARE is not available here so i buy it form the US store. But if you read the little letters in the disclaimers of the contract that you always AGREE (mark) it clearly said that the plan it´s only valid if the accident, crash, etc take place in the region in which you register the plan.
    Thanks, Adrian I really like your videos, you have a particular pace that let us learn about all your advice.

      I will add that getting personal article insurance through State Farm or any similar insurance carrier is MUCH cheaper and a much better deal. Mine was literally a few more bucks a year for full coverage when tacked on to our other insurance.

    Hey Aldryn, great beginners video...I owned 3 P4's before buying the M2Pro, but was very disappointed when DJI told me the DJI Go 4 app doesn't support the Crystalsky monitor, and I own 2 that I've been using with my P4Pro - and for the same reasons you like using a tablet, I love the Crystalsky because of it's brightness and the fact it doesn't wash out in the sun. I'm hoping they update the app soon!

  • @ericnordean88
    @ericnordean88 6 років тому +4

    The inspection part reminded me of the time I found a hairline fracture on my gimbal. I sent it into DJI with hopes they could replace the small damaged piece and they sent me a refurbished drone, which is ok but I never crashed mine and felt disappointed I received one that I had no idea of what it went through or why it was sent in.😐 But it serves the point that if not for a routine inspection it could have crashed had the piece snapped off.🤗

    Great tutorial Aldryn, I notice only one nit. The table for IMU calibration should be flat and LEVEL. I think the app tells you to have a level surface anyway, so it's not a big deal if the user pays attention to the app instructions. Also, it helps to do this calibration when cold (not mentioned in the app). Doing the IMU calibration in temps below 50F is helps speed up boot time every time you fly. Some folks put the craft in the fridge for 15min, but I don't recommend that. Early morning winter (depending where you live) is a good time to do this, when that time and temp arrives.

    Hello nice and clear instructions on the mavic 2 pro preparation 🙏👍 I just got my mavic 2 brand new quad and I was thinking just out of the box to proceed only with compass calibration outside the field and only if I notice any deviation or other abnormalities of the aircraft then to proceed back to home with IMU calibration and even a gimbal calibration (in case of horizon tilt issue). So, what's your opinion on that? Is that IMU calibration a mandatory step before first flying the drone? Thank you!

    Great video. Thank you. Also, I have 3 questions: 1. You did the IMU and gimbal calibration in the house, so I assume we can also do that in the house? 2. Should we repeat those calibrations on any particular schedule. 3. From day one, every time I turn on the MP2 I see the "calibrate compass" block outlined as if it lost calibration and needs to be re-calibrated, even when I fly at the same location. Is that block just outlined by default, or is it telling me I must re-calibrate the compass every flight?

    • @FlytPath
      @FlytPath  5 років тому

      It will only tell you to recalibrate compass if there's an issue or if there's magnetic interference.

    Some people have been saying the the RTH "precision landing" is either not functioning / or not included in the Mavic 2 series. Could you confirm if this is correct concerning the RTH "precision landing". I felt that precision landing was a great feature with the original Mavic, I am kind of bummed DJI may have discontinued the feature going into the 2nd series of Mavics.

      I just did and apparently Mr. Frump signed this BACK into law for 2018 so now you need to register any drone over .55 lbs. up to 55 lbs. After that it's a major deal with big drones. I signed up on the FAA site, then tried to register but it's pretty confusing and I couldn't figure out what they wanted me to do. Oh well.

    I have a question hopefully someone can offer guidance. I want to buy a mavic 2 pro and fly around in the back of my work during lunch etc. My work is within 5 miles of a class b airspace but I want sure if I need to let atc know even though I'm planning on flying less than 25 or so off the ground. It's well below the trees and building height. I wouldn't think that would be an issue since it's not high enough to pose any risk to aircraft etc.

      I do the imu and camera once I get the drone. Then I do the compass in the field before my first flight. After that, I now wait for the app to tell me u less I see feel something weird with my flights.
