DJ Kanonfx maybe so but it’s really dope, Erik has booked me for 40 weddings through the end of the year and I’m a full time student, and it’s not like I don’t have control over what I play. But weddings kind of naturally restrict your music catalog anyways.
Epic!!! I love how streamlined everything is. Will you guys be doing a video as to how you got 300 weddings a year while only being in business for 2 years?
One more question ...how exactly is he connecting his speakers ? I just see one xlr being plugged in and than a 3.5mm going into the computer. I guess how is he taking left and right speaker and combining it to one mono xlr...and is 3.5 being plugged into the tractor controller?
@@erikMassengale just curious how often the licensing body’s check you guys, my former employer did 1200 a year and was constantly in meetings with them. It’s easier for them to try to ding 30 systems in a shop than a guy here and there.
Nice for quick setup. Looks like he has a growing business. With that said... With that sound equipment it is obvious customers continue to accept average sound and lighting. You would think for something as important as a wedding that the customers would demand premium sound (i.e Danley, JTR, etc...) and lighting that is more than a basic light bar. I wish his business continued success and I hope customers start demanding more.
the number of speakers doesn't matter, you go mono from the DDJ400 to a Mixer- then the mixer to the first 2, and go out from those to 3 & 4. depending on how you set them up. as long as your running powered speakers, you can chain them any way that looks good.
Not sure what the 400 is but normally you need a mini mixer between the controller and the speakers as USB powered controllers dont have strong enough outputs to send signal to a powered top
You can run RCA-XLR’s to two DI boxes from your controller directly to speakers 1 & 2 (or direct to speakers). Daisy chain speakers 1& 2 to speakers 3 & 4 using separate XLR’s. What you sacrifice is a little bit of signal to speakers 1 & 2 though (less clean sound). Mixtrack Pro I is basically setup the same way as ddj400 and that’s how I got around the input issue before I bought a mixer. Running through a separate mixer is always more ideal though. You can control the sound better that way.
It will be extremely hard to only do school dances and DJ full time. There is too much down time between the prom and homecoming season that you will need to find other events
Dow Oak Events you must be in a really good location because no offense you would never get that around here. Sound system definitely worth it light show not worth it. Again no offense.
Hey email me at rickyweber65@gmail.com I personally fullfill all orders and every order has been shipped out on my end. No one has ordered since April 16th. Our site is shopdjlife.com
For multi-ops like this, it's best to find young broke individuals that you can train to do things your way. Someone who wouldn't mind doing an entire wedding and getting paid around $150 - $200. You provide them with all the gear plus the gigs. For many young broke people, that is a dream come true.
I would avoid that other guys advice, that would probably not work out. So far we are still small enough to where i was friends with all of the employees prior to the company starting
Do you guys keep the laptops updated with the newest music then? If they don't own anything how do they keep up with updating songs? Or know what remixes or fire bangers are on there?
Not my style for what a Dj business should look like at the wedding, but I hope one day I can have such a big and automated business. Of course I will need vans and trailers, but the Idea is the one that I'm seeking.
@69 Sound, This works, because no matter which DJ you send out to the event he can show the client a picture of what the setup will look like. Most other multi ops the person sending out the DJs have no idea what each DJ has or use and that goes for music to. The only thing I would worry about is a person new to DJ, blows a speaker, because people keep telling them to turn it up.
Those 12.2s will get as loud as you could ever want them without hitting their limit. I Dj’d a 700 person Easter egg hunt the other day at Summerfield Farms and you could hear it across multiple acres and it wasn’t even close to max
Okay, let me explain myself... In the area where I live, work and perform the weddings need a subwoofer yes or yes, a couple of k12's will never be enough for a wedding in México. I said that the way he made it work is great, but I would need to step it up quite a bit because we do a lot of producction here (scenariums, dance floors, gigant screens, tv screens, disco balls, tons of uplight, some moving fixtures, cold sparkles, etc) so this is way too little, at least for me. I am not saying the equipment or setup he uses ain't powerfull, it is great! But here in Mexico things work a bit different (for a 250 people wedding I would use 2 qsc kw181, 2 qsc kw 152/153 and a pair of side fills with some zlx10p or alto ts310 or something like that...and I would put about 20 uplights, 4 beams 2r, a pair of 55" tv screens or a couple of 130" proyector screens, a jd booth/table 7/8ft long by 4 ft tall, a 12 ft wide scenarium...) that is what I do here and it is the kind of things you will see at premium outdoor weddings. That is why I made that comment before
@@69sound81,that works and that's great you can get that kind of money and in Mexico weddings are a celebration and on the east coast. In my market that setup works, because weddings are something people do between their dinner and movie.
@@stevemcc1842 yeah, here the wedding is quite a big thing. Every single premium wedding is either in a very luxurious hotel, in the beach or outdoors in a very nice place full of antique buildings, grass and trees. It is not that well payed because of the difference in economy (I have to pay a lot more for the eqquipment and make less money than you guys in the US) but luckily it is changing and every year we can charge more and live better with this business. I would love to take this concept to Miami or NYC. I feel like people in those areas are more likely to pay for the productions I make and wont feel like wasting their money on a very nice setup for their big day.

@@erikMassengale just curious how often the licensing body’s check you guys, my former employer did 1200 a year and was constantly in meetings with them. It’s easier for them to try to ding 30 systems in a shop than a guy here and there.
good stuff
I want to follow this guys business model! I’m patiently waiting to see the sub $1000 beginner setup video!
Lets do that video @DJ Rick Web
Dow Oak Events yes please!!!
Only been asking you for a year it feels like
@@DJRickWeb Lmao I got super busy. I'm back in 2 weeks from MBA and my last wedding is on the 19th so I'm off forever after that. LETSDOOOIT
I guarantee there isn't a single wedding attendant that would be able to tell a difference between a QSC system and something that costs 3 -5 as much.
Lmao, no they don’t care. I do 190 and the company I can from did 1200 a year. Very similar set up.
Great share and great job with all the success. Cheers to a prosperous business.
tight work!!!
Great video and awesome idea but as a DJ I feel if u don’t provide subs you are doing a disservice to the client
They are welcome to book subs, we offer them. just not included in base package.
Nice
Holy fuck i've lost so much weight
ok now I live in winston salem, NC and I'm a DJ look'n for work get at me :)
Nice!!!!
I love this idea for set ups. Quick in and out. Do you have some of the links for the gear? What is the case the mic and conditioner is in?
First comment
hey rick quick question how do u connect a entry level controller such as the ddj400 to like 4 powered speakers
the number of speakers doesn't matter, you go mono from the DDJ400 to a Mixer- then the mixer to the first 2, and go out from those to 3 & 4. depending on how you set them up. as long as your running powered speakers, you can chain them any way that looks good.
You can control the sound better that way.
whats the name of the case holding the microphone?
whats the name of the case holding the microphone?
0:35 he says he does weddings only is it possible because I’ve been djing for 11 years can u only do school dances as a DJ.
It will be extremely hard to only do school dances and DJ full time. There is too much down time between the prom and homecoming season that you will need to find other events
Cool but the real question is how much are changing people for this little setup.
average sale is 1100 for DJ only
Dow Oak Events $1,100 for this setup man I’m so upping my price.
Dow Oak Events you must be in a really good location because no offense you would never get that around here. Sound system definitely worth it light show not worth it. Again no offense.
@@christopherAwaite We are in a super competitive market (most people are) but no offense taken no worries man
Link to his channel please
Dont have one
So for the setup that you have for each DJ, in the event a sub is needed, which one would you use that would fit into a sedan?
Jeremy Lane 3 of us have big enough cars and we just switch. It’s also verrrrry rare
Hi Rick I'm just curious how do I get a hold of your clothing company about my order. I haven't received my order it's been over a month and no update
Hey email me at rickyweber65@gmail.com I personally fullfill all orders and every order has been shipped out on my end. No one has ordered since April 16th. Our site is shopdjlife.com
Is that Furman important for sound quality of my sound sistem?
It change significaly?
It reduces electrical noise. Doesn't really help with sound quality but the hissing you hear in your speakers with no volume
DJ Rick Web i will defenitly invest in one of that.
Nice video! 300 a year?!!! Man!
Where do you find DJs to employ?!
For multi-ops like this, it's best to find young broke individuals that you can train to do things your way. Someone who wouldn't mind doing an entire wedding and getting paid around $150 - $200. You provide them with all the gear plus the gigs. For many young broke people, that is a dream come true.
I am personally offended by this comment
I would avoid that other guys advice, that would probably not work out. So far we are still small enough to where i was friends with all of the employees prior to the company starting
@@Alpha_blossom Why are you personally offended? I'm confused. What did I say that specifically offended "you"?
DJ 2LEGIT because I am one of his Dj’s lmao
Do we know when you will be doing more of these videos I want to done something like this
Like with Erik?
Do you guys keep the laptops updated with the newest music then? If they don't own anything how do they keep up with updating songs? Or know what remixes or fire bangers are on there?
There not thay kind of DJ
Cookie Cutter Weddings 101
That's so exciting to have a "cookie cutter" DJ clone doing your wedding. SMH
I think you mean "That's how you get a consistent quality result" Instead of a random concoction of random crap.
Dope!!!!
I agree love the gig bars but the wash bar give such a smoother look
The USB 4bar is pretty smooth, even has a wireless foot pedal you can use to mess with them
Link to under $1K Dj set up?
well done
Every system have its own legal library?
Yes
Does this suppose to impress me ?

Keeping profits high is over peoples heads? A little arrogant there dude lol
its been a while since i have watched the video but if i did say that yeah my bad. lol
How are you
Hey..
Isnt ev zlx 15 better than qsc because of the clarity plus bass since they dont supply subs for (every) wedding
No
we used to use zlx 15's when we started, they are cheaper but far from as good
