    You could also look at new-old stock or factory rejects like we did to get a high end machine for a low end machine price. Last week I brought a 15 year old Janome machine for my mother that was I think 2500 as new and I paid 270 for it. Just don't tell her that because she doesn't know I cheaped out on it. It wasn't second hand, it had just been sitting at the back of a warehouse for 15 years being unsold.

    Hi! So I really want a vintage (all by hand) embroidery machine but when I look at buying one, I'm not sure what it looks like. There is a girl who does them on a vintage machine and she's amazing but it doesn't look that different from a normal sewing machine. Help.

    I want a free arm. Is it possible to get info on the measurement around on a narrow arm? I see most of the free arms are fairly wide for pants rather than arms/ wrist size. And it is hard to get this info.

    What thread goes in the bobbin thread when you embroidery. Ty

    • @emminelson8356
      @emminelson8356 3 роки тому

      For most embroidery, you use embroidery bobbin thread. An embroidery only machine requires 90 weight bobbin thread. A sewing-embroidery combo uses 60 weight embroidery bobbin thread, in the Baby Lock lineup

    There are stores that teach classes? It's a good idea, but I've never heard of that business model before. What stores teach classes?

      In the Pacific Northwest, Quality Sewing and Vacumn teaches courses or sponsors them. During the quarantine, they are on-line.

    What is the biggest hoop size on an embroidery machine you can get for around $1000 (or less) ? Ideally I would like to create entire back panels for jackets.

    • @LVXMagick
      @LVXMagick 4 роки тому +2

      5"×7" the brothers se1900 retails at around 999.

    • @LVXMagick

      She makes it seem like you can't do big designs with a small hoop bc she is a paid advertiser and seller trying to up sell. A bigger hoop is more convenient, but you can accomplish large designs with a smaller hoop, you just have to do more hoop changes and make sure your design is aligned properly when changing the hoop.

      @@LVXMagick Do you need software?

    • @LVXMagick
      @LVXMagick 3 роки тому +1

      @@nora22000 yes, unless you have a machine with an internal memory that has large designs already and you only have a small hoop, but typically you will need software to make a large hoop design with a smaller hoop. And perfect alignment between hooping is critical but its possible.

    I ordered the Solaris, now three months later I finally received my love of sewing I ordered April 6th. I ordered my Solaris bag Mid May and also just received that, but they sent me a generic black bag. I waited two years to buy my Baby Lock and spent approximately $25,000 on machine, Koala cabinet, software, love of sewing, bag, and new laptop. I am hoping I’ve made the right decision and have no more problems with Baby Lock. I’ve second guessed my choice, but feel stuck at this point.

      I also received a generic black trolley which is garbage. My friend gave me her extra one from Brother Luminaire. Night and day. And there are much better videos on UA-cam that don't cost anything. Then you have to buy Upgrade Kit !..
