dont worry the fincantieri won the contract! www.defensenews.com/breaking-news/2020/04/30/the-us-navy-selects-fincantieri-design-for-next-generation-frigate/
i think the British and Italian should work more often together, two different navy concept, different conception and ideas, this is usually very fertile ground for new ideas
What I would like to see in a drone is all the tools as shown in the video, also has survivability functionality to defend against attacks with Onboard lasers. If shot down, the drone has a self-destructed mechanism that fries everything so technology isn't turned over to the enemy !!!
3D Printing has a massive application for Space Flight in the future especially as you can't take all your spares to the moon or mars but could print them in situ. but then there's probably a added difficulty to printing in zero g
BAE America is huge just like they are in Australia and Sweden. Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman Uk are also big there. Many Nato defense companies are in more than one country.
I thought the US Navy was done with the LCS Freedom class since the ships have been having major problems with proprietary systems and extra expensive proprietary non Navy specialist servicing. What gives?
Chris Cavas please advise where can we get a model like that of the dry dock with the two Arleigh Burke class 10,630 ton guided missile destroyers . . .
They likely decided to troll the bulb behind the ship likely like a fish lure or rely on a helicopter dipping sonar. Hydrophone arrays have shrunk enormously and are more like ribbon speakers instead of linier ransducers.
The reason the west like the Swiss 57mm naval gun is that it has a higher rate of fire the Italian 3inch, can carry more munition and was as effective as the Italian 3 gun with less weight Only I the 2000s with Italian smart ammunition did it take back the lead
Missiles have a booster, fuel, radar and guidance systems, a guided ammo can be produced in way more units than a missile because it’s cheaper (the more you produce them, the less they cost) and because they only need guidance system (IR/GPS) and only need basic control surfaces, plus in the case of the VOLCANO/DART ammo, they’re guided by the ship
the U.S. Navy seriously needs to cut down it's auxiliary fleet by as much as 85% . . . simply because it doesn't need that many . . . besides it'll save the navy in excess of €30.0 Bn of tax payers money . . .
I wonder if the US military would buy a weapon of some sort made from a us citizen ? Hahaha ? Do you have to have a license to make something in there own garage hahaha
sorry but... that is exactly as the SPANISH F1OO CLASS FRIGATES. How the dare to say it is fincantieri or from the US or I dont care. It is 90% as de spanish one. In fact, Spain was designin a new version of the F100 for the US Navy i think. Not Fincantieri
Fincantieri is great!
I really hope Fincantieri gets the contract. Beautiful ships in either configuration and they aren't afraid to show it!

Mass respects for this channel ...gives good content
great channel, but the US, they cant simply buy a European frigate, of course they must make it bigger, louder, more weapons.......😁
Powder metals for 3D printing. Then you got major break though in graphene production..As graphene will change the way we build everything.
2024. Still waiting for advanced 5" projectiles.

5:59 that model really like like a Spanish F100 frigate..
I didn't know BAE Systems 🇬🇧 manufactured for the Americas.

LCS
Il proiettile vulcano è italy non bay systems

That Hypervelocity Shell shown at the beginning, was one made for the DDG-1000 guns?
It was made in 3 version one for dog 1000, one for rail gun , and final one for 5 inch mk 54 naval gun
Yeah, don't make Aluminum frigates, its just dumb
Welding is a nightmare
They burn too easily eg The Falklands
Why wouldn't an ASW ship have the sonar bulb?

It will have towed sonar made by Thales.
Can someone please explain to me the west’s obsession with that puny 57mm?
Even the Soviets had a 57 mm on the Nanuchkas.
It's WOKE......anything larger requires a safe space
@@robervin4384 I don’t think they want to hurt anybody.

Bruce Nadeau It’s more effective at shorter ranges. I like the idea of having both on one ship.
Why are "guided munitions" far more cheap than guided missiles ???

I think you need to check your eyes! There is nothing of Spanish in that ship, more like is similar to Burke class destroyer
