Pooh still remembered the good times with Christopher Robin, but even if Pooh wanted to forgive him, it was simply impossible for him, not with all the bad things he's done including eating Eeyore alive and forgetting that Chris abandoned him by breaking his promise, all hope of redemption for Pooh was gone with Eeyore's death.
It seems so, though, Pooh seems conflicted probably due to what happened Eeyore. I admit I was surprised to see Pooh shedding a tear, but it's like you said, there was still a small trace of the loving creature he once was. If only that was true to the end.
Now I understand why Christopher Robin abandoned his friends because he doesn’t want to take them to college because people get confused or scared or judging and they’ll think they’re monster and they’ll torture them or worse they’ll kill them

Even though I haven't watched the entirety of this film The plot kind of hits hard. Not just because it soils beloved childhood characters but also because of a more unique story in my case. My grandpa and I used to go to this park and he and I used to pretend it was the hundred acre Wood and we would imagine all the characters being there (we even built Eeyore's house together and sometimes he would call me on the phone and tell me someone knocked it down and we would have to put it back together) (and coincidentally enough the tree that we pretended Owl lived in actually fell down after a hurricane. We were speechless). We would even pretend that the characters would watch after their apartment for them when they went away to Florida for the winter. But ever since my grandparents moved away from the area almost 15 years ago I have not been back once. With that said I noticed that it's really similar to this movie (thankfully everything was all imaginary and there are no bizarre feral humanoid animal creatures capable of hurting anyone)
Disney was Not involved so I don't see this as canon. I never read or even heard of the OG books when I was growing up. So the Pooh Bear I grew up with still lives untainted in my heart & mind. It more seems like they tried to save some money. The marketing point was winnie the pooh but they didnt just make a movie only about him killing people. It could've been one of those random slashers where there is no premise or drive for the killer and just a brain dead edge fest but they actually took time to show other characters give a little references and give a legit human reason why christopher cant be friends with them growing up and while not the best reason to turn feral at least it gives a motive for pooh and pigglet. While you are right they could've done alot better had they had the right budget and timing I wouldn't consider it a money grab but a fun what if movie that just happen to do good. What probably could've been cooler to me if they looked a little more like their real life animals counterparts winnie the pooh could've definitely used some fuzz or fur especially in the hands it would've made him more winnie
Yea maybe, It had potential. But I guess it would be even a better plot, if Christopher robin hadn't left, instead somehow died or got killed and then they've decided to take revenge on everyone who they think responsible for his death or idk

I do wonder, if Christopher Robin promised Pooh that he will never leave him when he was a child, why did he abandon him and left him and their friends starving?
Why did he never realize that by feeding these animals himself he was making them dependent on him? He’s smart enough to become a doctor but not smart enough to know that?
This is why I think iti would've been better to have both Pooh and Christopher die at the end, kill each other and die in each others arms as a twisted way of saying 'a little boy and his bear will always be waiting' and the 'together forever' line from this scene - but then again that would mean that this movie would make even the slightest bit of sense or indicate that they'd actually read the book and the whole point of this movie is that it makes no sense at all, has no logic and has no respect for the original books, just has these beloved childhood figures to grab audience attention.
