    are those knobs only to facilitate the removal of the slide? i always thought it was somekind of balancing thing for the sound.

      Yes, the only purpose of the draw knob is to facilitate the removal of the slide.

    That is not called a soldering scraper, that is called a burnishing tool

      No it is not. Look closely. It is scraper. It looks similar to the cheap burnishing tools available.
