- This is Colin, who came to us wanting to do a mock driving test to see the areas where he could improve on for his actual test in a months time. At this point Colin has done about 30 hours with three different instructors and this is his first ever mock driving test. Lets see how it goes..

Was the serious for cutting the corner at the start really required. I mean sure you shouldnt do it but there was a parked car very close to the end of the road and if he went in on the correct side would he have had enough space to go from left to right side of the road to go around it as from the cam view im not sure as he would be awfully close to the cars corner edge if he he had to go around it starting from left side. If he checked while turning round the corner it was totally clear i think its what alot would do to get into that narrow road.
I think it was more that if he was in the correct possession he could see the car there however his turning position was too far back anyway so imagine if there was another car turning right into the one way …
Changing gears is a dangerous fault? Really?

I don’t see why you wouldn’t signal while leaving the mini roundabout after turning right 3rd exit. I mean that will help the upcoming traffic to know you are leaving the roundabout so it is safe for them to entry the roundabout. 28:41
Yes my instructor says that you should signal on mini roundabout too
You're not supposed to signal when exiting a mini roundabout. It can even be misleading because noone expects you to. That black car that gave way to him suddenly saw the student use a left indicator. If the student had signalled left just a fraction of a section earlier, that black car could've decided to go and then bam, collision!

On the Hospital Bridge Roundabout, at around sixteen minutes' in: wouldn't it be better to try to avoid the hatch-marks and slot in after them? They must be there for a reason. After that, is either lane acceptable to come off on? I'm presuming so, as traffic to the left should be going straight ahead only, according to the arrows, so shouldn't be coming round to come off in the left-hand lane at the same exit and at the same time he could do.
I need to know the answer for this as well. Apart from putting the wrong signal. If he's into that far right hand land. How does he go back to the far left in time to come off the 3rd exit. I really don't get it lol

give him a good point for turning into the road well then give him a serious for brushing the bush lol the road was really narrow
Brushing the bush can sometimes scratch your car because there are woods in them so yeah it should be a serious.

@@justmekeileyful We had a woman at work who reversed past a bush, brushing it. What she did not realise was than in the conifer was a concrete post with an old steel pin for mounting a gate hinge onto. She heard a scrape and decided to keep reversing to "get away from it". By the time she had escaped free from the bush the doors outer surface had become completely cut in half.
@@keith6400 he wasn’t reversing thou he literally just brushed pass it I doubt anyone who drove down that road didn’t brush pass it 👍
@@justmekeileyful Yes, I know. The point I was making is that the light fluffy branches of bushes can sometimes contain more sinister stuff. There is a video on this channel "Learner Driver Mock Test - EPIC FAIL Almost runs over a pedestrian!" In this the candidate pulls up on the right and a branch comes through the window while instructor suppresses laughter. This is on that video at 31.29.

is it just me or is this guy more picky with minor driving faults compared to Pin from Dgn Driving School? Not being a prick I'm just trying to learn about the way the english driving test is marked.
I used to think alot of these Driving are or were picky and then my instructor said to me that you could get a really picky examiner who had a bad day so you have to be prepared for them to pick you up on everything. The key is to try and be relaxed and over use of mirrors is better than under use of them

Man's got gains
This guy has minimalised hand movement for the purpose of steering. His hands do not seem to stray much from quarter to three. see 20:56 for taking a sharp turn but not moving hands about the steering wheel.

may I ask if that car manual or automatic because it docent have a hand break the tom tom accent making me laugh but I am sure if u keep practicing in a month you be ready you can do it👍🏼

For a 20mph zone only a sign on entry is needed (the zone can include multiple roads). The speed control measures such as speed humps are enough to convey the limit. It might seem harsh but if you go 25 in a 20 and you started in a 20 you can still get a ticket.
The test did seem to start in a 20 zone.

Here in the States, 98% of cars are automatic transmission. I learned to drive stick, but now drive automatic. It was a used car, so it wasn't really my choice.
I do remember hearing of a teenager that stole a car with manual transmission, and he absolutely knew nothing of driving it.
Every instructor are different. My instructor told me that if I'm going wrong way while sat nav is on, it's fault. Is this correct?

I think you should be ok. Making a wrong turn or asking if its the right turn etc will not get you a fail as long as you are driving safely and aware of others around at the end of theday thats all the test is for, to prove you are a capable and safe, competent driver and know the rules of the road and markings or signs. Wrong turns or getting lost isn't a problem as long as your not going up 1 way streets the wrong way for example, that becomes a problem for obvious reasons.

@@TRIOBANDUK No problem, just looked on the gov website and it says it doesnt matter if you go the wrong way or miss a turn as long as you dont make a fault you should be fine.
