- Learn to paint a doll's face and more with Antonette Cely's DVD. Visit her shop at www.etsy.com/sh... ! This video is an excerpt from the award-winning "Making Faces" by Antonette (Noni) Cely, who is an Artist member of NIADA.
I watched this video twice, not only because your a great artist but the humor value as well. I have a question though, how do you seal the faces so that the powder and paint sets?
Thank you for such a instructive and helpful video! I was completely perplexed as to how to add facial shading and it was driving me crazy! I am so excited to start working on my dolls!
Thanks the face you painted looking beautiful
I think the lady is great to give her time, I imagine she would be great at painting wax doll, she is also very funny, and entertaining, .
What more do people want.
Thank you so much. Really good tutorial..I was getting ready frustrated trying to paint the eyeliner and eye brows...can't wait to try your tips.
As a young male artist I was wise to listen to the women in my life teach me about skin tones, shadows, eye brow placement, etc. Men (we who don't wear makeup as a rule) struggle with this. Even the least artistic women are Rembrants!
P.S. you're a LOT of fun~!
I just love your video , specially the malibul barbie beautiful art work , God Bless
Wow, that is amazing!
i love your job.
Very informative. Thank you for sharing with us.
Great tutorial! Thank You!
Great instructions - thank you SO much!
Awesome to learn
How do you make the face please
Can I use airdry clay instead of polymer?I don't have a toaster oven to bake it in,and I am afraid I will contaminate our food if I bake it in our kitchen oven.If airdry clay comes out the same as polymer clay, can I use crayola airdry clay?I would like clay that I can find at Michaels for cheap. I did see crayola air dry clay at Target. So can you tell me if crayola will work? If not what Air dry clay do you recomend that I can get at Walmart, Michaels or Target if airdry clay is ok to use?
It's like these people discover something and before they've truly perfected the technique, they're trying to tell people they're pros.
+K. Stosphia Can you tell me if that is a pressed felt face and how to make them?
Betty Bho if I remember correctly, it's polyclay. As far as felt, needle felting is the best way to make something like a face. Most felt artists I know actually use polyclay or cast resin for something like a human face--unless you want something more like some waldorf doll. I'm less familiar with felt and related techniques than I'd like to be, but Google, Tumblr and Pinterest are your friends.
art is subjective.
WOW! Super vid very short sweet and full of great tips thanks so much for your share love 💕 it :o)

Yeah i ain't using pastels ib owder form to repwint Barbie's I am customizing for my reasons.
Um, yeah. Some of your techniques or tips are correct while others sadly are not. I'm speaking from experience as someone who has repaired hundreds of dolls over 13 years and at one point had a physical storefront. Your biggest mistakes are the eyebrows and the blush is way to much for the skintone of that doll.
Charlie do you have a tutorial,
Cool tutorial but those dolls she was using gave my a "OH FUCK WTH" moment
