How to RR Racing tune install

- In this episode we learn how to install and upgrade the rc350's stock ecu file to the RR Racing tuned ecu file. This was a first time performing this type of procedure and hopefully we actually learn something from the video and you are confident enough to do it yourself. We were afraid at first, but it's actually easy and straight forward with the help of RR Racing's support services and Simon Raban.
To properly allow the system to calibrate the new ecu data, we have to drive the RC350 for 50 miles of regular city and highway driving. After we complete this final step, we will go ahead and do a proper review of whether or not this made a difference. But just taking a quick drive on the freeway, i put the car in 8th gear when with the stock file i would rarely even put it in 7th due to a lack of power up high. Immediately i noticed a lot of top end performance gain. So far, we are definitely happy with the performance increase and the upgraded tune from RR Racing. I was in the same situation. Then I tried it myself and it's super easy. The main issue is making sure your battery is strong bro, thats it. Everything else is easy peasy bro

Hey man great video. Here are some tips to look into for future videos to keep making videos better and better. I would watch out about what you are doing with the mic and how it effects the clips. A lot of people will watch a shaky video with good audio but people tend to click off the video when it is the other way. I would try to cut some of the more dull parts of the video like reading the instructions at the beginning (just read the steps out as you do it) or like walking to the car and stuff like that to keep people’s interest. And finally as far as transitions sometimes less is more as far as the transition effects as it will help keep time down and draw less attention away from what you are trying to accomplish. Great video though for just starting out and keep up with the detailed how tos and other content. Can’t wait for the next one.

My is250 is fucky when I mess around with my battery or scanner. On first start up it does the same thing, shuts down, then starts fine and runs the 2nd time. Weird.

What’s your experience like with the tune? Do you notice a power increase?
I wrote my experience in the description above, but so far so good actually. I have to drive the car 50 miles for the ecu correction to complete and i can give you a full review. Right off top, i notice through a quick drive on the fwy that I unconsciously put the car all the way into 8th gear when with the stock tune i would never. Before there was little to no power in 7th or 8th, so I wouldn't go past 6th which is good for 120 to 130 no problem. Ill give a full review once correction takes place. Bro why every time I disconnect the batterie to reset the ecu, the navigation starts to act up & the windows won’t go down?
Victor Rodriguez you have to reprogram the windows pretty easy just go to every window and lower and hold the button for like 3 seconds then put them up and hold the button for another 3 seconds and your main control and auto windows should work

@@VictorRodriguez-nq9xc Toyota/Lexus require constant power to the vehicle to keep factory settings intact, so if you disconnect the battery terminals you should have a ‘pop’ charger hooked to the terminal cables to keep power to the car, if not then for whatever reason it throws everything off like idle rpm, shift points, it may misfire a bit and other little wacky things... pretty annoying for sure

Did the tune affect your mpg at all? How much are you averaging right now? Also any issues or lights come up because of the tune? Noticed the car failed to start once you finished, any problems with that happening again? Great video btw.
Apparently anytime the ecu is reset or tuned. That first start will always fail. Just designed that way. No check engine lights or anything. I honestly haven't felt a difference except for the higher rev limit. Most of the noticeable gain came from the headers. I went to the dyno and the tune is a gimmick unless you have a supercharger. They haven't cracked the ecu yet, so its a very basic flash the increases rev limit to 7200. On the dyno, power falls off dramatically after 6200. There is literally no use for the tune unless you have a supercharger.

How do I know I have to update the ecm? I check my car for recalls and nothing

Where did you get the carbon paddle extenders
I got them from rr racing on clearance lol. I don't think they have them anymore though. There's a guy by the name of elvin on ig that makes carbon fiber pieces for our cars.

Do you suspect you had issues due to your headers and other modifications? Because I’m interested in this and all I have is an axleback and plan to add a Takeda S2 CAI
I suspect the issues came from improper tuning honestly.
So you have to send your stock file to RR then they modify and send u the updated Software?
You identify your ecu, send that in, and rr racing will send you a tune file for your specific ecu. Not necessarily modify it, just send you a compatible file for your exact ecu.

Amazon. They're called logo door lights. Don't get the adjustable one cuz eventually it'll be in a different position everytime you open the door 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Only get the fixed position door lights as they won't wiggle and move

Amazon 13.99 lexus logo door light. Get the non adjustable or fixed version. Otherwise you will have to adjust it everytime you open the door lmao 🤣 😂 💀
Hi, is your tune on pump gas 91 octane? I was wondering if they offer that or they want you to use 93 octane
91 bro, 93 and high octane is required for the supercharger kit. But fbo is good with 91
If you can find Mobil or Exxon Stations,I Have Found that Mobil,for sure & supposedly Exxon are same & Their Prem.we get in SE USA Is 94 Octane.Mobil Furnishes Indy type & F40 racers their Racing gas.My 17 Runs like Scolded Dog W) Mobil gas.Believe Lots of our Mobile & Exxon gas,Comes from Canada

If you get the intake, the tune is required. Tune is not required for ppe headers bro

is it possible to share the tune with other IS250/350 06-13??
Apparently there is a specific tune for each model. And even multiple files per model. I have 2 files for the rc350, 1 was compatible and the other wasn't. So I'm assuming there may be a couple different ecu's just for my model let alone the others. I don't think the file is shareable with the is250
what about using the same computer to upload a tune for a is350 and then get another tune for an is250?

The biggest difference came from the headers and tune for sure. Especially over 80mph is where the biggest difference can be felt.
Question... once you flash your ecu can you Unflash to go back to stock tune? Just curious for tags and smog checks. From Cali 🥴
Yea you should be able to flash back to stock. I feel it. I'm in the same boat, in southern cali

No check engine lights. The tune turns off exhaust codes

Not long at all. Like a month in total? I think there's a lead time of 2 to 3 weeks.
