    How the F##k do you not have a million subs? No really, your channel is without peer! I've been cruising around on YT for years and never stumbled on your channel until a few weeks ago. That is wrong! I've learnt more from your channel in a few weeks than all the years I've watched other similar channels. Kudos for teaching us dilettantes how to fix shit in your own inimitable way! Later!

      I'm glad my videos have helped. I think a bulk of my views are just homeowners looking to do a one time repair so they don't subscribe.Its all good. When I stop enjoying making the videos you'll stop seeing them. Thanks for watching!

      @@TheGreasyShopRag Being a YT creator is a kind of perverse pleasure that others don't get. I don't pretend to be anything other than a guy who likes making vids purely for the bewildering satisfaction of the task itself. I hope you never stop enjoying the process because you are the best I've seen thus far. Now I sound like a f33kin lick spittle but it's true. Don't go changin'! Crazy fast reply , respect!

    I've worked on a lot of saws and I don't think I've ever seen a filter that bad! Wow! I get a lotta pleasure cleaning neglected chainsaws for some strange reason. You do really good work Scott and I enjoy watching your videos as wel as your sense of humor. Keep up the great work bud.

    The 240 was a good saw. I adjusted the carb so it would run correctly from day one and only ran 93 octane fuel in mine with name brand 2 stroke oil. Been ten years and the saw always starts and runs no matter what. But I take good care of my tools.

    I think Ill add this to the list of saws I never want to have to work on. They had years of making good, easy to service filters and decided to go with that? Anyway, good video

    What would help is the part number for that dam carb on those things... and also did you have to mess with the H L adjustments?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  6 місяців тому

      586936202 is the carb part number. They list for $60. As for carb adjustments, most new carbs will bolt on and run but need at least a little tweaking.

    My saw will not start. The saw has only been used about five times, so Dirty filters should not be a problem.. Even so, I removed the cover and the air filter is clean as a whistle, and the spark plug looked good, but I cleaned up the gap anyway. It still will not even try to start. From day one, this saw has been very difficult to start. Can't figure out why. Any suggestions?

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  6 місяців тому

      My first question would be, was it bought from a dealer and was the carb initially adjusted by that dealer? If not, that might be part of your problem. How about starting procedure. If you choke it and pull it more than a few times on full choke you may be flooding it. Again, this could be made worse by a carb that not adjusted properly.

    I own on of these and seem to have had lots of problems over all with it , as I understand they have been discontinued are they a good saw over all in your experience? If not what brand or model in this size would you recommend?
    Thanks for the great info.

    • @TheGreasyShopRag
      @TheGreasyShopRag  11 місяців тому

      I've never been a fan of the 240. I think Husqvarna makes good saws but you need to get into the rancher grade or pro grade. If you felt the 240 had enough power then maybe try a 440. Close to same size with a bit more power.
