I've always assumed that I'd have to dig down into the shifter itself in order to install a short shifter. Thanks for the education! It looks like I might be able to do this myself. Great video!

Yes, apparently there are 2 types of short shift kits, ones like this where you change a part on the transmission and the other type where you're taking apart the center console. I've installed both now on my car. I prefer this type. It's much easier to install and very effective!
Did you change your shifter? I have a 2019 & mine is a lot longer. I want to lose that long piece of chrome an just have the ball on top of shifter bag. I want a Raceing Slammer ball!! Any ideas??
Thanks for you question. No, I haven't changed my shifter. I think they started making them longer with the LCI cars. I don't know if anyone makes a really short one. I would imagine you could get one somewhere.
I believe the Cooper s has the short one and jcw comes with the longer chrome one. I had a challenge 210 which was a limited run Cooper s with every option and just bought a jcw, both are 2015 so pre lci so just think it’s the difference between Cooper s and jcw, you could probably buy a Cooper s gear stick
Would have recommended the MMR short shifter instead. Amazing piece of kit.
