Hey, thank you so much for this video.
I was about to open my laptop only to find out if I can install the 2.5 mechanical disc taking the risk of losing my warranty. You saved my laptop warranty!
It's my pleasure my friend. 😊 Thank you for taking the time to give feedback! If you would like to support the channel, please like, subscribe, or both. :P

Thanks so much! Was totally confused until seal lock and why that screw wouldn't come out. Putting in a 1 TB stick was a breeze except for when I was trying to loosen the SSD slot screw someone at the manufacture decided it needed locktight once I removed it though I cleaned off the screw. Put it back in to check smoothness(Should mention those screws are like half the size of a desktop version). Installed the new SSD put everything back together and working great. Much Appreciated!
I'm glad you liked the video! Your feedback means a lot. If you want to show some love for the channel, a like and subscribe would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to reach out. Cheers!🍻
p.s they do place locktight no need for it.

Thanks, I didn't even know this laptop has a 2nd SSD slot! I'm going to replace the OS booter with a larger one and see if I can get Ubuntu running on it, 2TB are reasonably priced now.

regarding your upgrade: i highly recommend you to get samsung plus or PRO , as they are very durable and well protected circuit.

I have Asus TUF F15 FX517ZE-HN036W on order. It comes with NVMe PCIe Gen 3 SSD.
I want to confirm to Slot’s PCIe Generation.
Is it Gen 4 or Gen 3 ?
Putting a gen4 in gen3 slot would be a waste of money.
@@uFixTek and 😮😮😮
Thanks for the guide, definitely subbed 👍
About what you said at 8:43, would you recommend taking the blac strip off if I put a copper heatsink on the left SSD slot? I don't really care about having an all-black aesthetic
thank you for the support my friend, and yes remove the black plastic covering the vent holes, and regarding the copper : no need to place a copper on it, the ssd temps are fine, you won't see a better performance or anything with a copper on the ssd. just recommend you to get a good ssd like Samsung nvme pro: amzn.to/3S0MJXK
they are very durable and last you much longer.
@@uFixTek Thanks! I think I will remove it then. I got the 980 Pro because it's so cheap at the moment (maybe due to the firmware issues). Best of luck with growing the channel👍
thx, and yes it may be because of firmware update but it has been fixed :)
Its not to prevent static electricity straight to the metal? Or dust straight to the motherboard?
Question friend, are two ssds that you link in the summary of the video (Samsung or Crucial) compatible for an ASUS TUF F15 2020 FX506LI-BIN5N? Or would I need a gen 3 for the samsung ssd. Also what would you recommend for increasing the memory?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, yes both are compatible and i recommend to place a gen 4 ssd nvme as it will not stress as the motherboard will only push it up to gen 3 speed and it will still have room rest, gen 4 is compatible with gen 3 slots.
if you want to upgrade ram here is a video for it: ua-cam.com/video/BrXu2kG6o3s/v-deo.html
thankyou so much for your guides

Hi man, interesting teardown. Just one question: I'm about to buy an Asus tuf f15 fx507zv4 and I need to know if it has a second ram slot
Thank you for your feedback! If you would like to support the channel, you can show your appreciation by liking the video, subscribing to the channel, or doing both!
Regarding your question: yes the model you mentioned comes with two ram slot available.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
I have a asus tuf f15 2021 model (FX506LH) can I add a 2.5 inch additional sata ssd with the default nvme ssd that was aldready installed in the computer when it came shipped ?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, Unfortunately, you cannot because the model is missing components on the motherboard required to deliver power in order to support 2.5" HDD or SSD. I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this limitation.
Hello I have a question, I have the exact same model as yours and I want to know if there is a way to add an HDD. I was planning to add more storage so I bought a 1tb Hard Drive, unfortunately I soon realized that there is no HDD slot for this model. Is there another way to connect my hard drive internally?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, unfortunately for this reversions they didn't install the components on board for the HDD 2.5' the only thing you can do is to get a usb3.1 HDD case and use it externally.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Hello, did you know is the FX506HC-HN011T model main ssd slot is pcie 4gen or 3gen?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, the main m.2 pci-e is Gen 4 and the other is gen 3.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Thanks for the video. But Question bro at 6:59 , there's small cable stuck beneath the ssd. Is that okay? Will it burn because of the heat from ssd?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, absolutely no need to worry about the cable it will NEVER burn or anything, if you will feel better you can move the cable to the right side of the screw, but there is absolutely no need to worry.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
Thanks, what is the max RAM specs that can I add, also what is the max SSD capacity for this model, I have the same model, I want to upgrade it to the maximum specs possible.
I have already provided an answer to your question in the previous video. Here is a copy of the response:
you can easily upgrade your system with 2 x 32GB RAM modules, giving you a total of 64GB of RAM. The recommended RAM can be found at this link: amzn.to/44McL62
For storage, you have the option to install 2 x 2TB NVMe drives, providing a total of 4TB of storage. I suggest using the following high-quality and durable NVMe drive: amzn.to/43yBYQg
Additionally, the price for the 2TB option is currently at its lowest.
If you have any other questions or requests in the future, please feel free to ask.
Hi, I have a question. Is an Eaget SSD PRO compatible with this laptop? It says M.2 NVMe, and i think the model is S900L?
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, the "S900L Eaget SSD PRO NVME" is compatible with this model.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

@uFixTek, so with the HDD that’s installed can it be replace with a Nvme SSD of what size capacity? And if yes, will it remove my windows 11 home or BIOS, and if it does how do I reinstall windows or bios the operating system? Lastly what’s the max capacity for HHD and the extra Nvme SSD slot I can have 4TBx2? Sorry I’m new to the pc upgrading world, great video though my model is a Asus TUF FX506HC gray eclipse model.
This laptop includes a built-in M.2 NVMe SSD with a 512GB capacity. You have the option to expand the storage by adding an additional M.2 NVMe SSD, with the capacity of up to 2TB of extra space. The great news is that this expansion doesn't require any complex configurations - it's a straightforward process.
If you're interested in replacing the primary M.2 SSD with a larger capacity drive, along with adding a 2TB M.2 SSD for extra storage, you have that flexibility. However, keep in mind that this approach involves performing a fresh installation of Windows on the new SSD.
window USB (same for 11 , just type 11 instead of 10) : ua-cam.com/video/uDu8j2lE-dM/v-deo.html
installation without MS account useful video: ua-cam.com/video/O2Pt4zcSKyE/v-deo.html
installation process of windows (if using windows 11 then integrate the above steps video into this) : ua-cam.com/video/oQ7NiirV4JQ/v-deo.html
@@uFixTek thank you kind sir, I believe I’m just gonna keep the 512GB Samsung SSD from the seller on Amazon gave me which I am pretty sure has all the operating systems on it with the bios so don’t want to lose that, and I believe what you are saying is there is a second slow for a Nvme SSD M.2 which I’ll just add a 2TB Nvme SSD with ease you are saying because I believe the
YES you can add a 2nd NVME a 2TB. and also no need to get or touch or do anything with BIOS. BIOS has nothing to do with all this upgrade.
Hi. Thanks for the video. Do u have a guide for what happens after you switch the laptop back on? Do I have to change any setting, or start it in safe mode etc?
Thank you for the feedback! if you wish to support the channel you can LIKE or SUB or both :P
regarding your question: If you adding an additional SSD, you don't have to do anything you just plug the extra ssd and power on and you should see the ssd in you file explorer as new drive. (if not then msg me i help you to active it).
if you replaced the main SSD then you will need to install windows by creating windows usb boot drive:
📢Create windows 10 USB Drive: ua-cam.com/video/uDu8j2lE-dM/v-deo.html
🔵 recommended USB drive: amzn.to/2QitsVW
Hello friend. Thanks for this precious video !
I did installed a new ssd (ADATA PCiE 3). Powered up the PC but no SSD appearing in the explorer. I'll try one more time. But I'd like some guide if you have the time, so that my PC recognize my SSD.
I saw somewhere else that I needed to check the BIOs, by pressing F2 at the start of the PC.
@@uFixTek Just an update...
So I checked it on the Bios the first time. It was there. Then I could see it on my explorer.
Thing is... I did something on my terminal to give me access to delete an Avast file from my "program Files" (I typed 'bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy' to be more specific) ... since then I don't know why, but my PC is taking a long time to boot... and my SSD is no detected, BIOs or explorer included. Do you have any idea why ?
Uhh hey i want to tell how much nvme slots does tuf f15 have after 1tb inbuilt installed one cuz i am buying one and directly want to upgrade it. their is saying it has 2x nvme slot so i am confused tht is 1slot inbuilt nvme and 1 slot empty or there are total of 3 slots..
🫠Regarding your question, there is no inbuilt nvme on this models at all!
there are two nvme slots, one has the OS (windows) on the left and one extra m.2 nvme on the right empty to upgrade. you can place any nvme up to 2TB nvme, or if you want to place 4TB nvme make sure it is a single sided chip.
you can have up to 2x 4TB nvme in this laptop without any issues.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

Am I right else please correct and clarify me...
Thanks in advance...

Regarding your question, you are correct, but we have tried installing all the components and still didn't work and the power delivery are locked and much more components need to be replaced, and firmware upgrade. not work the headache and risk. and the flex adapter and caddy.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
It's seems cost cutting from manufacturer...
However thanks for your quick response...
While cost-cutting is understandable, it is also limiting upgradability, which forces people to purchase new laptops.

Hello, I want to add a 1TB ssd alongside my pre-existing 512 gb nvme for my asus tuf gaming 15 5x506. Would they be compatible? And do I need to turn off the battery and then format the ssd when booting the laptop? And how do I format a new ssd?
🌟 Regarding your query about adding a 1TB SSD alongside your existing 512GB NVMe in your Asus TUF Gaming 15 FX506, rest assured, you can seamlessly integrate any NVMe SSD brand of up to 2TB. There's no need to disconnect the battery or interact with it in any manner. Simply remove the back cover, slot in the new NVMe SSD, and you're set. Upon booting into Windows, the new SSD should appear in "My Computer" as a new partition. If it doesn't, simply right-click on the Start menu, navigate to Disk Management, and locate the new, unpartitioned disk. Right-click on it, select to create a new partition, and follow the prompts until the process is complete.
Should you have any more questions or need further assistance in the future, please feel free to reach out. Cheers! 🍻

I figured the black film over ram and ssd might prevent static charge?

regarding your question: no my friend its for the grill view, so you don't see the internals or it could be a splash guard, but the rams and ssd are grounded and static charge cant harm them.
Guys does anyone know if it reads the Sata SSD (Sata 3 ssd) - I plugged it in the 2nd slot, and it's blinking and everything, but I cannot see it in the bios

Is the hdd slot on the 48w modle of the asus f15 i must kbow
can you rephrase your question, i have a hard time understanding your question.
To put in an additional ssd does it have to be the same capacity as the original ssd? or can i keep the original 512 and put in an additional 500?

Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, you can go with 2x 2TB nvme, don't go 4TB because you will need a good heatsink and a good heatsink won't fit in there.
and you can't place a 2.5' drive because the connections are not provided on motherboard.

@UFIXTEK
thanks for the tutorial. i have some questions if you can answer,
i want to upgrade my ram and ssd on my laptop but want to know exactly how high can i go and what make of ssd/ram i can use. i have asus tuf f15 FX506HCB.
Can i add 2 64Gb rams on both slots?
WD_BLACK 2TB SN770 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe Gaming SSD up to 5150 MB/s read speed
- would this SSD work for me? and could i go higher than 2tb? like 4tb? with speeds upto 7000 mb?
thanks
Thank you for your feedback! If you wish to support the channel, you can like, subscribe, or both!
Regarding your question, 1st of a 64GB stick on ddr4 sdram does not exist.
and you can go 2 x16gb : amzn.to/3Zrf2SHabout the
about the nvme you can go up to 2TB (4TB won't fit and you will need a big heatsink)
i highly recommend the samsung nvme pro: amzn.to/3Lt8sFM
the one you mentioned will work fine too.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.
@@uFixTek thanks a lot for your time, i appreciate it. iv liked and subscribed.
i meant can i add 2 32GB rams in the slots? or is it limited to only 16gb each slot?
i currently have 1 16GB ram card, im thinking of removing the single 16gb ram slot and putting 2 32gb in both slots - adding upto 64gb.
thanks again for taking out time to reply to my questions.
you can place ONLY max 16gb on a single slot, so if you have 16gb stick get another 16gb
you can't place a 32gb on single dim.
@@uFixTek what if i remove the current 16gb ram and replace with 32gb? or is my laptop limited to only 16gb ram each slot?
Hi just saw your vid today and actually we have the same laptop and planning to add 512 gb to my Tuf laptop. Just a question and actually this is a very dumb question and this is my first time doing it rather than going to a tech store. After I've installed the storage card. What should I do next? or is it the laptop automatically finds the new SSD? or should I do something next?
🫠Regarding your question, once you install the new SSD and power on the laptop, if the SSD storage doesn't show in "My Computer" as secondary storage, then you will need to do the following:
Right-click the Start menu and choose Disk Management. You will see the newly installed disk marked in black, indicating it is not created. Just right-click on the black partition and create a new partition (just click Next on all steps). Now you will have the disk showing up in your computer beside the C drive.
Should you have any further questions or requests in the future, please don't hesitate to ask me.

my laptop tuf f15 have 8gb ram, i add another 8gb ram , system said that i have use 2/4 , can i add another 16gb ram in order to achive 32 gb ram ?
🫠Regarding your question, you only have two slot available and if the windows says 2 of 4 that is incorrect, it is a common windows error on laptops, they never fix that.
you can have 2x8gb or install 2x 16gb if you want.
just double check and see if your system can handle 32Gb ( we have upgraded this laptops to 32gb),

Regarding your question, these laptops are equipped with a GEN 3 chip instead of a Gen 4. While you can indeed install a Gen 4 SSD, it will operate at Gen 3 speeds. The transition to Gen 4 is a hardware-based process and cannot be achieved through software changes alone. It requires the installation of a Gen 4 chip, along with power regulator components and a firmware update to enable the functionality.

Oh I didn't knew that the 2nd slot is gen3. But the question is why my default ssd is so slow (about 3000 read)? Is it because the default ssd is gen 3 itself?
And I have another question, when i play games like RDR2 with high graphics on 1080p I get about 88°c cpu temperature and some time slightly peeks at 90 to 95 very fast and comes back on 88 (using msi afterburner)... and i wanna buy an SSD in price range of pm9a1 so i will be have to buy a gen 3 which I think i would be fine... now i have the concerns of the ssd temperature effecting laptop's temperature, i was going for 970 evo plus but I have seen many informations on internet about this SSD getting so much higher than others!! Do you think temp is important? What do you think is the best option for me to get.
Thx
Sry the comment was too long :)
It is my pleasure to assist you, my friend. Let's address an important aspect upfront: M.2 temperature. If you are considering an NVMe drive up to 2TB in capacity, you won't need a heatsink. Adding a heatsink won't provide any durability or performance benefits. However, if you prefer, you can opt for a slim heatsink to help maintain lower temperatures for the NVMe drive: amzn.to/3qWm4C4. It's normal for NVMe temperatures to reach around 60-70°C. For a 4TB drive, a good heatsink would indeed be advisable.
Regarding the default NVMe installation, I recommend installing the Rapid Storage driver (Intel). This will ensure you get the maximum performance from your SSD. Keep in mind that the speeds you achieve during tests will not match the advertised speeds due to several factors. The numbers shown are instantaneous speeds; the actual stable speed is about 10% lower, depending on the brand. The type of files being transferred (video, text only, pictures..) and whether you transferring one large file or many small file also impact the speed.
One more thing to note is that when running tests on an SSD with Windows and other services running, the results can be influenced by background processes. Ideally, the best test scenario involves having the SSD isolated without Windows and other services running, and running tests both individually and when paired with another SSD on the correct generation slot.
However, it's important to emphasize that a read speed of 3000 is more than sufficient for regular use. Windows and most programs do not utilize this speed, as they work with micro files rather than large chunks of data. Therefore, a standard NVMe SSD will perform just as well for running Windows and programs as a higher-end NVMe with speeds of 10000 read and write, unless you are frequently moving large files between fast M.2 drives.
i would choose the 980 Pro or the model you previously mentioned.
Shifting focus to CPU and GPU temperatures, it's entirely normal for laptop temperatures to reach 90-95°C under full load. Even with premium thermal paste, these temperatures are often reached due to fan curves. If you wish to maintain cooler temperatures, you can adjust the fan curve to your liking.
Thank you very much man 🙏
It's my pleasure my friend. cheers🍻
No heatsink for ssd? The main one has one already
Regarding your question, you do not need a heatsink for the nvme ssd unless you go 2TB over, then sure you will need a good heatsink. you don't gain performance or loose performance by adding heatsink.

Regarding your question, It's my pleasure my friend 1st of all to make videos for everyone, and yes you can mix GB of the rams and you will not have any issue, but recommended that you have 2x16GB or 2x8GB, and the reason is that by having two rams you will have a dual channel memory activated, but if you have 16gb and 8gb or 4gb and 8gb then you will have dual channel ram activated up to the limit of the lower GB stick and after that it will run as single channel (much slower).
you can place a 2x16gb for total of 32gb without any issues: amzn.to/44pxuMA
about the m.2 they are NVME both and you can keep the 512gb that you have and add an additional 2TB without any issue, we recommend the samsung nvme PRO, that gives you the best reliability and DURABILITY:
amzn.to/45nfJyA

@@uFixTek Thanks, I did not know I have to look out for the single sided SSD as double sided SSD won't work? What if it is 4 TB double sided? That would mean each side would have 2TB?
@@uFixTek Also, I see on the official specs this model supports Gen 4 SSD (backwards compatible) but not gen 5 and higher?
it is gen 4 and (backwards compatible), and no it is not gen 5 and to get gen 5 is a chip hardware upgrade and not with software.
the reason for the single sided is because the m.2 slot is a low profile (very near the motherboard and also there are capacitors and other components on board that will not allow the double sided nvme to lay down and it can cause a damage to the nvme or short on board!, if the had placed a higher m.2 jack then sure you should go with double sided nvme's.
also i don't recommend you to go higher than 2TB because anything over 2TB you will need a good heatsink for the nvme controller. but anything up to 2TB doesn't requires heatsink.

Can this Laptop Support 64gb of memory?
Regarding your question, yes it can and if you need to double check that to make sure follow this video : ua-cam.com/video/tKEJTkVth4Q/v-deo.html
we have tested with this rams, and they are very good solid and compatible: amzn.to/43xIHLL
just to be clear it's not called ssd (Solid State Drive) anymore it's called m.2 (form factor) nvme (Non Volatile Memory Express) drive. You can Either have an SSD in a m.2 slot almost gone by now or having it in 2.5 format which is the more common mechanical laptop form factor.
let me clarify this subject to you:
SSD refers to storage devices that utilize NAND flash memory, which can come in various form factors, including 2.5-inch drives and M.2 drives. However, there are some important distinctions to make:
1. M.2: This is indeed a form factor, but it can house both SATA-based SSDs and NVMe-based SSDs. The key difference is in the interface and performance. M.2 SATA SSDs use the M.2 form factor but operate at SATA speeds, which are limited compared to NVMe. On the other hand, M.2 NVMe SSDs use the same M.2 form factor but leverage the NVMe protocol for significantly faster data transfer rates.
2. NVMe: This stands for Non-Volatile Memory Express, and it's a protocol designed for flash-based storage like SSDs. NVMe SSDs can come in various form factors, including M.2 and PCIe add-in cards. NVMe SSDs offer substantially faster read and write speeds compared to SATA SSDs, thanks to their more efficient communication with the system's CPU.
So, to sum it up:
* SSD is a broad term encompassing all solid-state storage devices, including both SATA and NVMe SSDs (you don't just say NVMe even if it is undrestandable).
* M.2 is a form factor that can host both M.2 SATA SSDs (which are not as fast as NVMe) and M.2 NVMe SSDs (which are significantly faster).
*NVMe is a protocol designed for high-speed SSDs, which can be found in various form factors, including M.2 and PCIe cards.
