Sorry I have no clear answer to that to be honest. I would assume it's fine as they only get hot when you copy large files for a longer time. But nor guarantees 😕

No. But if you pair 8 and 16gb of ram it won't run in dual channel mode. For that you need two sticks of the same capacity. Otherwise only 16gb of your 24 GB will run in dual channel mode. And you'll lose about 10-15 performance.
@@alexanderunknown8605 no. You can see that if you look at the FPS. You're lossing around 5-10% of performance on single channel mode depending on the game. Now one can argue, that 5-10% is not much, and it isn't, but it's there and it's "lost" ;)
I bought a Samsung 870 EVO ssd for my TUF FX505DT and while i was able to install it by aligning the screws, the drive itself was too small, and there's a space between the bracket and ssd. I managed to set it up and seems to work. Do you think that there should be any issues?

1. Should work, but especially regular hdds are vulnerable to moving around especially when acrive and should be fixated. You risk data loss and a head crash if it's loose. 2. No I didn't. Yes it's possible, i have a friend with this laptop and upgraded the battery to the 90whr one, he only need to put some adhesive so the battery won't wobble.

That would be the m.2 ssd on the left side (when the battery is at the bottom). You unscrew the old m.2. Ssd and insert the new one. However that way you would need to install everything from scratch. If you want to copy the old ssd you will need to install both first and clone the old one to the new one. For example with a free tool like macrium reflect.

Hi, nice video. Just two simple questions. I've ASUS TUF A15 (8 GB RAM + 512 GB SSD + 4 GB NVIDIA 1650). I've an empty slot for RAM, and an empty slot for 2.5 inch SSD / HDD but no slot for 22 mm x 80 mm SSD. Is your model different ? Second Question, you are inserting a 2.5 inch SAMSUNG 500 GB SSD, but the slot on the motherboard says HDD. Is there any kind of issue if we insert a 2.5 inch SSD as you did. Does it have a difference or side effect?
This helped alot , one of my ram sticks is Failed so will it run in dual channel if i use crucial cl22 3200 mhz ddr4 ram ? Or would i need to put 2 crucial same sticks ? Also, in my laptop the black plastic is Glued to another Ram. So should i remove it ? Also, Does performance change with crucial ram having no heatsink like the original ram installed?
They will run in dual channel yes. The laptop will adjust both sticks to use the same stick as the slower one. You could just use the heatsink from the old one. But it should not have a big effect overall.
2:21 Don't do this. Instead, flip the laptop closed. Put your fingers in the hinge well, hooking on the bottom, and pull up. Repeat on the other side and release the center (by the screen area) then pull up from the center (that you've just released). It will pop open no dents, no tools.

What cable did you use for the SATA? The Crucial SSD I ordered didn't come with one and I can't find one that fits online 🤦🏼♂️

Yes only 1! And that applies only to older models! New versions might NOT have a sata slot at all.

Just look for ddr4 ram for laptops. So-dimms. They are smaller than desktop ram sticks. But easy to find online.

if you have secure boot on then it won't let you select the boot media.

you could use ANY PC screw for fixing SSD/HDD inside the cage! just visit nearest local pc repair shop!

Yes you can do that. It's not 100% optimal though as only 16gb of your 24gb will be in dual channel mode.

You can place a 1tb along the 512 gb ssd :). Most 2TB Ssds "should" work too.

Are you planing to use the hdd als system drive? Or as a second drive? What will you store on the hdd? Games? Or just files and data?

At 8:50 you say "you reconnect the battery, because otherwise laptop won't turn on". Surely this can't be right? Is there protection against running the laptop without battery on this model, just from wall power?
no, these models do work with battery disconnected i have tried on 2 models!

Use the windows disk management to format it, if it's not showing up.
Make sure to enter the bios first and see if it's recognized!

Hi, nice video. Just two simple questions. I've ASUS TUF A15 (8 GB RAM + 512 GB SSD + 4 GB NVIDIA 1650). I've an empty slot for RAM, and an empty slot for 2.5 inch SSD / HDD but no slot for 22 mm x 80 mm SSD. Is your model different ?
Second Question, you are inserting a 2.5 inch SAMSUNG 500 GB SSD, but the slot on the motherboard says HDD. Is there any kind of issue if we insert a 2.5 inch SSD as you did. Does it have a difference or side effect?

In terms of the ssd you need to make sure it's a slim 7mm ssd. 9mm could be a problem (I'm referring to the thickness)
This helped alot , one of my ram sticks is Failed so will it run in dual channel if i use crucial cl22 3200 mhz ddr4 ram ?

Also, in my laptop the black plastic is Glued to another Ram. So should i remove it ?

They will run in dual channel yes. The laptop will adjust both sticks to use the same stick as the slower one.
You could just use the heatsink from the old one. But it should not have a big effect overall.

2:21 Don't do this. Instead, flip the laptop closed. Put your fingers in the hinge well, hooking on the bottom, and pull up. Repeat on the other side and release the center (by the screen area) then pull up from the center (that you've just released). It will pop open no dents, no tools.
