  • Racing experience at Nevers Magny Cours GP circuit. The car is a Prost AP04 Formula 1 car, with a Cosworth V8 engine developping 650 HP!
This was my second time in a Formula 1 car. I drove 8 laps of the circuit. I was, once again, very impressed by the power and the braking capabillities. I felt that my rythm was quite good for my humble level after few laps. I'm convinced that you will find quicker drivers there, but my goal was to have some positive feeling and I was very carfull not to crash this unique car.
Regarding the movie, the camera that I used was a Cambox v4 PRO. It was placed inside my helmet, behind the windshield. This let to the real view of the driver eyes. I personnaly find it very impressive and immersive.
The driving session was organized by LRS Formula, a very skilled and professionnal team dedicated to monoplace racing, quite unique in Europe (if not worldwide). I only can strongly recommand them for such experience. They own several F1 car, as smaller Formula Renault 2.0 cars for monoplace practice. They go in the most famous circuits around France, and also in Barcelona and Portimao. You will find more informations at this adress: www.lrs-formula.com.
Many thanks to their incredible team of mecanics and driving coaches. The value of those guys is just enormous, in terms of advices, security and kindness.

What a cool video, indeed immersive! I agree with your take on this being a way to experience F1 history. Would you recommend LRS?

I would recommend them without any doubts, as soon as you have a small background in circuit driving... and that you can keep your head cool 😅😅
      they are really professional!

How much do I have to pay to drive one of those?

The prices are on the website (www.lrs-formula.com/stages-de-pilotage-en-formule-1). Depends on the number of laps (at least 5 laps in my opinion), the type of F1 (V8 vs V10) and the circuit.

The price of the car... Unique piece of history. Priceless. Moreover, as you can imagine, if you brake something, parts are not on the market. You have to manufacture it from scratch. Pretty dumm to gain 1 or 2 seconds per lap... the goal of such experience is not to train your driving skills, but to drive a part of F1 history, in my opinion.

Having driven a formula car myself, I can tell you that it is *not* at all anywhere near as easy as it looks to carry appreciable speed through a corner. These things *hurt* when they load the G forces on. Unless you are particularly conditioned and experienced with this very insular and specialized activity, you are *going* to be well off of competitive pace; otherwise, you *will* end up hurting yourself.
