It’s really annoying because as a white girl I was made fun of RELENTLESSLY for my big ass and thighs. I got called fat by all the other white girls and my literal nickname was “ghetto booty.” I hid my curves and even went the extra mile and developed an ED that lasted a whole decade because of how low my self esteem had become.Now it’s cool to have a big ass and thighs. My two daughters are built just like me but by time their in high school a new body type will be in style and I worry they will go through similar things I did. I just wish that this whole culture of popular body types and “body goals” would just stop. I wish we would stop praising women soley on their looks and actually show the world we are capable of more than just looking pretty and that we will rise above the beauty industry and say enough is enough. But women are too focused on competing for the best body and the most likes to realize we are not advancing in life but rather reverting back to the old days when all we are is eye candy for men and the men are loving every single second.

Gurrrll I was the same way at the height of the beauty community I was buying $50 contour palettes and all kinds of eyeshadow palettes and stuff because of UA-camrs who had six figures while I was making $12/hr. I remember one time that woke me up was when I went to Ulta and spent over $100 without really meaning to, I got in my car feeling sick, knowing I couldn't afford that, circled the parking lot and went back into Ulta to return like half of the stuff. Now all my make up fits in one pouch. 😏

We really need to love ourselves more and just put more love out in the world in general. There is so much hate/negativity going on in the world it’s sick.
Alot of this “beauty” is coming from surgery. You do not envy her “small nose” but her well done rhinoplasty. You don’t want her hourglass shape you want her bbl, lipo, and fat transfers. You dont want their lips you want their juvederm and facial fillers. Its all vanity, none of those surgeries or procedures offer any benefits to your health. I agree 100%. I don't support plastic surgery and never will. People say it's ok if you do it for yourself, but honestly that mentality is toxic as well and just fuels insecurity and the need for constantly changing yourself to fit beauty standards. If you're unhappy with the way you look, it takes much more courage to work to change it or just accept your natural beauty than it does to pay someone to alter it. God made us all beautiful and it's time we start normalizing accepting our natural faces and bodies (if they're healthy of course).

For a 22 year old I love your maturity and insight especially with beauty culture. I’ve had my days when I wish I hadn’t gotten breast surgery but at that time I didn’t have the mindset of “I can live with it” because I couldn’t. I wanted it done and I did and I don’t always feel the same about my decision but I still love it at the end of the day. You’re absolutely right that we have to factor in maintenance costs, what if something happens to it, can we cover those costs and what not. Body modification is a great way to express yourself, we’re all different in how we want to do it. Love your tattoos as well! At the end of the day we gotta love ourselves and really think about it before we get irreversible work done.

Nah, butt implants look a bit different, you can see clearly that they have done some kind of fat operation. They have small arms, small thighs and then look at their stomachs, you can clearly see the improportions. Bbl is never natural lookin, no matter how good the doctor is.

The issue I have with this is that the Kardashians set a trend and everyone ran out to spend their life savings for the most dangerous plastic surgery procedure out there to try to achieve the unrealistic beauty standards they set. I like that lorry let us know that it’s not really “natural” and it’s actually giving the message to people who follow body trends to try and maintain an unrealistic esthetic to be ultra thin while still having enough fat not to have a completely flat butt. Because looking at it in all of it’s reality will let people know it’s not just they got thin and that’s it. They still have that country club bbl or skinny bbl and it’s still something you have to do to look that way
As someone that worked for a top surgical center, I never recommend anyone to get any kind of breast or butt implant. Patients who have had complications from surgery are almost 100% of the time due to implants. The implants shifted, hardened, were rejected, leaked, implanted into the body's tissue and even if everything goes well, they still have to be changed every few years. If you want bigger boobs or butt, use your own fat, do a fat transfer, it's the safest thing to put in your body. Silicone is dangerous if it leaks into your body. These implants are still popular because they ripple less therefore look more natural, but again it's poison for you.
Anyone else watch the 60 minute Australia documentary on BBL? And how anyone with a medical degree can be a cosmetic “doctor?” What I watched blew my mind. I hope this bbl trend goes away!
It’s honestly surprising that some people are now starting to see the problem with this type of stuff. Bodies are not a trend! And as much as people say not to “judge” women who get cosmetic procedures done because it’s “shaming them”, it’s kinda absurd. Masking insecurities with “trends” is only feeding the problems. As long as people act like nothing is wrong with that, the insecurity on a large scale will continue to skyrocket especially with newer generations. Cosmetic industry will continue to boom and profit off of insecurities and these “trends” To put it into perspective: The the global cosmetic industry is worth about $511 billion and the global cosmetic surgery market is valued at $49.12 billion which is projected to reach $64.88 billion by 2028!
Ever since I hit puberty my butt and thighs just became quite big in comparison to my body. I remember people made fun of me, they'd say I had a fat but, that it looked like I wore diapers etc Then I went to highschool, around the same time bbls were becoming trendy and I couldn't believe how I was receiving the extreme opposite feedback. When I tell you people not only complimented my butt bit were OBSESSED with it, like everyday I'd have people I didn't know from my school come up to me just to express their utter admiration over my ass.... It was wild. As much as the validation felt good, I ended up not enjoying it, it didn't feel right. Now things are more tame, people still compliment my body regularly but the general histeria has vanished. I wonder/fear about what's to come. A part of me feels sad my body's falling out of trend, it was the only time I felt I fit the standard and it was short lived. Another part of me is happy because now people will treat me in a less objectifying way, yet knowing the human kind, I fear it'll come back to being negatively objectified and being poked fun at again. Sigh. My time of glory is gone. At the same time, I don't really care, this rant isn't that deep.

But in reality, my face grew into it over time. Your body and face aren’t done developing at 18. It saddens me so much to see young girls get work done that they can’t reverse. And, one of the things I realized is not a lot of people know that maintenance required after a breast augmentation such as a possible if not needed second surgery to remove or replace the implants. So, it’s really important that everybody knows there will always be another surgery on top of the initial surgery. It’s never just one work and it’s all done.
I am worried that the "ideal" body type is shifting in media and social media to much slimer. To me it seems the Kardashians are also following along on this. Tiktok is also filled with a lot pro ED and thinspo content. I think a lot young people will be affected by this. Making a decision with permanent/long-term consequences based on a trend is one of the most unwise things to do to. Don’t be blinded by people’s shallow view points. I feel like most people who go through cosmetic surgery really didn’t need it. They were already nice looking. Khloe is definitely better looking without the butt implants. How did she fail to see that she is already gorgeous naturally? I don’t like the Kardashians but this is a fact.

Gurrrll I was the same way at the height of the beauty community I was buying $50 contour palettes and all kinds of eyeshadow palettes and stuff because of UA-camrs who had six figures while I was making $12/hr. I remember one time that woke me up was when I went to Ulta and spent over $100 without really meaning to, I got in my car feeling sick, knowing I couldn't afford that, circled the parking lot and went back into Ulta to return like half of the stuff. Now all my make up fits in one pouch. 😏

Alot of this “beauty” is coming from surgery. You do not envy her “small nose” but her well done rhinoplasty. You don’t want her hourglass shape you want her bbl, lipo, and fat transfers. You dont want their lips you want their juvederm and facial fillers. Its all vanity, none of those surgeries or procedures offer any benefits to your health. It fuels anger in me when I see little girls looking at plastic filled people and thinking theirs something wrong with them when its the other way around. I agree 100%. I don't support plastic surgery and never will. People say it's ok if you do it for yourself, but honestly that mentality is toxic as well and just fuels insecurity and the need for constantly changing yourself to fit beauty standards. If you're unhappy with the way you look, it takes much more courage to work to change it or just accept your natural beauty than it does to pay someone to alter it. God made us all beautiful and it's time we start normalizing accepting our natural faces and bodies (if they're healthy of course).

For a 22 year old I love your maturity and insight especially with beauty culture. I’ve had my days when I wish I hadn’t gotten breast surgery but at that time I didn’t have the mindset of “I can live with it” because I couldn’t. I wanted it done and I did and I don’t always feel the same about my decision but I still love it at the end of the day. You’re absolutely right that we have to factor in maintenance costs, what if something happens to it, can we cover those costs and what not.
Body modification is a great way to express yourself, we’re all different in how we want to do it. Love your tattoos as well! At the end of the day we gotta love ourselves and really think about it before we get irreversible work done.

Nah, butt implants look a bit different, you can see clearly that they have done some kind of fat operation. They have small arms, small thighs and then look at their stomachs, you can clearly see the improportions. Bbl is never natural lookin, no matter how good the doctor is.
I remember there was a video somewhere where kim did a scam on her butt to prove that she did not have implants, I dont think that it's implants, it has to be something else, bbl made more sense in terms of them looking as tho they had the bbl stomach but it can be something else as well, i dont think its implants tho

Nobody gets butt implants😂, what they are all getting is sculptra, injections that are not coming from your own fat and they are even more expensive than fat transfer

Celebrities usually go the implant route… it’s safer, faster recovery time, can easily be reversed or made bigger/smaller it’s just waaayy more expensive. The issue I have with this is that the Kardashians set a trend and everyone ran out to spend their life savings for the most dangerous plastic surgery procedure out there to try to achieve the unrealistic beauty standards they set. Once everybody got their BBLs in and they were finally there The Kardashians have the money to go have theirs removed and all these other people are stuck with their freakish looking BBLs not able to afford to remove them or able to hear to the new trend of beauty standards that only the Kardashians can afford to achieve. Not to mention they have lied about it all along. I like that lorry let us know that it’s not really “natural” and it’s actually giving the message to people who follow body trends to try and maintain an unrealistic esthetic to be ultra thin while still having enough fat not to have a completely flat butt. Because looking at it in all of it’s reality will let people know it’s not just they got thin and that’s it. They still have that country club bbl or skinny bbl and it’s still something you have to do to look that way
As someone that worked for a top surgical center, I never recommend anyone to get any kind of breast or butt implant. Patients who have had complications from surgery are almost 100% of the time due to implants. The implants shifted, hardened, were rejected, leaked, implanted into the body's tissue and even if everything goes well, they still have to be changed every few years. If you want bigger boobs or butt, use your own fat, do a fat transfer, it's the safest thing to put in your body. Silicone is dangerous if it leaks into your body. These implants are still popular because they ripple less therefore look more natural, but again it's poison for you.
Anyone else watch the 60 minute Australia documentary on BBL? And how anyone with a medical degree can be a cosmetic “doctor?” What I watched blew my mind. I hope this bbl trend goes away!

It’s honestly surprising that some people are now starting to see the problem with this type of stuff.
Bodies are not a trend! And as much as people say not to “judge” women who get cosmetic procedures done because it’s “shaming them”, it’s kinda absurd. Masking insecurities with “trends” is only feeding the problems.
As long as people act like nothing is wrong with that, the insecurity on a large scale will continue to skyrocket especially with newer generations. Cosmetic industry will continue to boom and profit off of insecurities and these “trends”
To put it into perspective:
The the global cosmetic industry is worth about $511 billion and the global cosmetic surgery market is valued at $49.12 billion which is projected to reach $64.88 billion by 2028!

Ever since I hit puberty my butt and thighs just became quite big in comparison to my body. I remember people made fun of me, they'd say I had a fat but, that it looked like I wore diapers etc
Then I went to highschool, around the same time bbls were becoming trendy and I couldn't believe how I was receiving the extreme opposite feedback. When I tell you people not only complimented my butt bit were OBSESSED with it, like everyday I'd have people I didn't know from my school come up to me just to express their utter admiration over my ass.... It was wild. As much as the validation felt good, I ended up not enjoying it, it didn't feel right.
Now things are more tame, people still compliment my body regularly but the general histeria has vanished. I wonder/fear about what's to come. A part of me feels sad my body's falling out of trend, it was the only time I felt I fit the standard and it was short lived. Another part of me is happy because now people will treat me in a less objectifying way, yet knowing the human kind, I fear it'll come back to being negatively objectified and being poked fun at again. Sigh. My time of glory is gone. At the same time, I don't really care, this rant isn't that deep.

Hello Keisha, I have a breast Augmentation done. And, one of the things I realized is not a lot of people know that maintenance required after a breast augmentation such as a possible if not needed second surgery to remove or replace the implants. So, it’s really important that everybody knows there will always be another surgery on top of the initial surgery. It’s never just one work and it’s all done.
I want to get a breast reduction and I’m hoping that it will only require one surgery.

my best friend’s mom recently got a bbl (notably post break up). anyways, she looks glad and i’m happy she’s had a boost of confidence, but she’s told me that she paid for it by taking out another line of credit. i have uneasy feelings about people getting cosmetic work done voluntarily that’s not necessary, yet they can’t fully afford the work…. not worth the debt in my opinion
