As an American I look at our historical leaders like Teddy Roosevelt and then at our modern options and I weep for how far we have fallen.
People who were alive when Roosevelt was president would have said the same thing about George Washington and talking about how far they'd fallen since then.

Whether or not that’s true, I do struggle to believe that if civilization started over at square one that modern man would be able to get things going again without a long period of mental rebuilding first. Similar to how it took several centuries to get things going again after the Bronze Age Collapse.
It takes around 20 years or more to truly evaluate if a presidency was good or not, otherwise there is alot of bias involved.
