To be fair a great many of you actually did. What's really weird is how on the other hand a great many Jews fought for the Nazis. Arabs too, they even had an elite Arab paratrooper division defending Berlin to the end. That´s what i love about history, there are so many details no human could possible know it all even if he read a lifetime.
My Grandpa enlisted when WWI began. He was there when George Washington crossed the Delaware into England. After being killed by a gas attack, he fought in the Vietnam War in WWII. He crashed his Huey into a Polish Tiger tank, but survived. He got redeployed in '51 just before the war ended. And then the civil war began in 2002, shortly after the American Revolution, which started in 1995. My grandpa fought for the Germans in the civil war. He was actually led into battle by Kennedy himself. Unfortunately, he died while marching into Virginia, at a battle called D-Day. A droid gunship destroyed his whole platoon. Rest in Peace Grandpa.
My great grand father was there when they fought the no-no Germans and the Polish in Vietnam. He tells me stories of how bad the situation was when the Germans launched Operation Barbarossa and took over Liechtenstein, everyone was desperate. Thankfully when the Japanese invented the Atomic Bomb and threw it on Warsaw and Berlin the war ended. Such a relief that was, sadly the relations started souring when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in the 80s with their Bombs. Everyone was shocked when out of nowhere the Koreans took over the Japanese and invaded the US. My father was part of the Resistance and he died an hero. I thankfully lived a nice life, since I was born in 1996 when we already had gotten our independence back. This century was really strange, hopefully nothing like this will ever happen again, let's pay our respects to the heroes that fought for our country!
I bet they know, it's just that this information is usually buried deep inside one's head since it's given in school, and they just need to take their time and get this knowlege out. But when some random questions you in the street most people anwser as quickly as possible without thinking and weird nonsense comes out. We have videos like that in Russia, and randoms on the streets also say weird nonsense, even though they most likely know the correct anwser, because it's literally in the school programm.

Also I'm glad to say I fought for Germany against the Nazis in our heartbreaking American civil war
So Germany got its ass whooped by Korea who then snatched the German American 13 colonies away, but later lost control over the colony in the 1995 Vietnam War and were compelled to admit independence. How did Korea beat the German-Polish alliance though? Gives Boston Tea Party a new meaning as well.

And then the civil war began in 2002, shortly after the American Revolution, which started in 1995. My grandpa fought for the Germans in the civil war. Lol
Its a lack of care in our education system for the last 40 or so years. Kids have been taught less and less as teachers became worse and worse all while social activist groups slowly changed whats taught from things like civics and history to focusing on more 'progessive' topics. Now you have what you see today
@@yusted1 well, they all know that America is a greatest country in the world and it have moral right to judge everyone, so not a big deal.
@@yusted1 It has literally nothing to do with that. The problem is the underfunding of schools, which is mainly a problem in red states, because democrats actually care about their students.
If it were really social activists that destroy the school system, then you'd think that students in blue states are worse at history, but the opposite is the case. On average, students in red states know significantly less about history than students in blue states.
Funny how people like you take a video where they asked United States citizens questions but only recorded the dumb ones as facts
Without knowing if these answers were common or the interviewer had to sort through many to find those he wanted to put on UA-cam to say if many Americans are so lacking in knowledge about their history.
These answers apply to 99% of Americans. Utterly clueless.

It’s depressing that me, an Australian, knows more about American history then some Americans do
Edit: Thanks for 696 likes guys.
I was in Atlanta once. Im from Germany. They asked me if i came by Car. Among other ridiculous things, many Americans think the World is 6000 Years old. They are lost.

@@mgkpraesi I can't name a single person who thinks the world is 6000 years old. Sure, there are some that may think that, but it's such a small number that I wouldn't say it's even remotely appropriate to apply that to "Many Americans"

As a polish guy, yes this is all true, I remember my great uncle telling me stories about how he fought in vietnam with the germans in WW2, the vietnamese with the help of the koreans (?) stopped the germano-polish alliance from winning.

I am German and have been to the USA several times. I know that there are many really smart people in the USA, but large parts of society are simply undereducated. I have been asked hilarious questions on more than one occasion, questions that a well-educated 15-year-old from Germany could answer without hesitation. I have even found that I know more about the history of the USA than many Americans themselves. I don't want to say that the German education system is top-notch, because it is not, but in my opinion it is far superior to the US education system.
I am so glad the college tuitions in the US are so high, imagine all those people getting proper education for free! That would be insane.
All of this is taught in free public high school (or even middle school.) Look at how well "Free Education" has taught these masses, and weep as you know in your heart that your liberal agenda is disgusting and vile.
