    Sorry the camera isn't always directly on Paul, but I liked those stage visuals and also I was like 13 and not thinking about uploading things to youtube 8 years later.

      There is only one really dominant musical act from England in between Purcell and the Beatles. That is Gilbert and Sullivan. Paul could have easily replaced Sullivan.

    I can remember walking in our kitchen when i was about 10 yrs old, and on the radio were the Beatles, and my mom was singing along at the top of her voice, how many 10 yr olds can say that about today's music ?.

    The Beatles were way before my time but very often like now I hear a song like this that I didn't know yet and think WOW 😲 this is amazing. Paul and John really are/were the greatest songwriters of this and the last century..

    The first time I ever saw Paul in concert was about a month after this particular show, and that show was also 11 days after my mother passed away. To say I sung along with this song with tears in my eyes would be accurate.

    Best of the Beatles - signature Paul McCartney composition, just like "Penny Lane", "Norwegian Wood", A Day in the Life", "Oh Darling" and many more that is full of harmonious melody, easy to listen to lyrics,, and of course - golden memories. Thank you Sir Paul.

    Very very mediocre song writing on this one. One of many pop songs that will fade away when he does. He has done some good writing in the past for sure. Can't be good always. I think we all get carried away with the hype on any one of the Beatles performances. They were good for pop/rock for sure in their time but in the grand scheme of world greatest music- probably overrated. Compare in all honesty anything against a Brahms or Elgar, or Stravinsky. I don't think so... Good pop rock at times at their height- yes-enjoyable- fun yes.

    • @sophiefeldman5918

      *meryl streep voice * bashing pop music by comparing it to the work of classical composers? groundbreaking.

    • @sophiefeldman5918
      @sophiefeldman5918  3 роки тому +2

      No, but in all seriousness, because of the sheer scale of the Beatles' success and popularity, they're a name that's going to last for ages. But that being said, even the greatest classical composers get reduced down to one or three well-known tunes over time. The same thing will happen/is happening with the Beatles. Everyone knows Hey Jude, Let It Be, Yellow Submarine, Yesterday, but the other songs just won't be all that well known except by fans. No one lasts in that way, not even Brahms or Elgar or Stravinsky. So yeah, I agree this song will fade, but it's still a fun song. I think comparing McCartney to those guys is like apples to oranges, they're brilliant in different ways. I didn't post this video or sing along to it at the show because I thought it was a masterpiece, I just thought it was fun and so did some 20,000 other people. It's fun to get carried away with the hype! :)
