@@JAM2USA2018 You're right. The thing is people tend to chase greener pastures elsewhere when for some these can be found where the person is, you have pastures waiting to be created from the woods but people dont see that because they dont realise that opportunities come dressed in dirty overalls. If they do they dont want to do spade work, preferring to take chances on those that have been created by someone else. Some face huge disappointments, others are so so and very few get to achieve the desired outcome. Most of us have to create green pastures in our home countries while others are born to create them in adoptive countries. Bottomline is that I wouldnt trade Jamaica for Zimbabwe, Ghana or any African country, i wouldnt trade Jamaica for such hardship. I encourage Jamaicans to take lessons from Singapore and Mauritius (islands like your's), develop your island and take it to new heights. Create green pastures in Jamaica. There are no green pastures in Ghana, Zimbabwe and other African countries, there are too many hungry people in Africa and these countries are politically unstable. You're not going to move Jamaica forward without technical skills thats guaranteed. You have the US at your doorstep use that to your advantage. Theres no good reason why Jamaica is down there economically other than the lack of political and societal will to move it forward. And this thing about repatriation to Africa is just a pipe dream. Africans are jealous they will not allow a Jamaican to thrive here, the typical self hatred of black people is alive and growing strong, this is the truth and not an attempt to discourage you. Dont get fooled by Africans who fled their own countries and get sent these videos to create a facade. The majority of Africans who are outthere encouraging the Caribbean and black Americans to repatriate are lazy illegal immigrant keyboard warriors who are not even in their own countries. Ask yourself WHY. They hope that you'll come here and create green pastures for them. Some are wanted dead or alive for heinous crimes they commited before fleeing, others are scammers.

I hope this will help inspire those who are still on the island of Jamaica to see that Jamaicans on the island can live positively whether they are at home or abroad. At this moment, things are not looking so well in Jamaica for the common people. I pray that with Africa, Jamaica will rise. I am a Jamaican living in the US presently.

I wish people knew how big the impact Jamican music has on Zimbabwean youths dating from Zimbabwean Indendence (1980) when Bob Marley came here. We actualy now have our own version of Dancehall music, sung in our own vernecular language (Zim Dancehall). My high school days (1999-2004) resonate with melodies from Beenie man, General Degree, Mr Vegas, Sizzla, Capleton, Sean Paul, Red Rat, Vybez, Elephant man, Cecil, Lady Saw, Pocaan, TOK...Belyias, Sailaway, Buddies, Buzz, Busta, Latino, Toxic, Trilogy, Anthrax, Diwali, Liquid not forgetting the Upclose riddim...Thank you Jamaica for the beautiful musical genres...Wish the community could grow bigger so that we can have a full appreciation of the Jamican culture...
