@@dolorescompean1507 Thank you, its like it was yesterday when it happened. That helmet is priceless for your daughter but I to wish our brothers could have experienced that as well. 1975-2022 he was young.
Too bad that wasn't done in '84, would loved to have seen Ted Hendricks singing, lol! Joking aside, my RAIDERS were MONSTERS in the 80's, damn it was good growing up in that decade. ;}
This was made in 1986, I would argue the beginning of the end of the old Raiders. The Davis/Allen feud started shortly after, and it’s really never been the same since then.
Ah yes, the ‘86 team that went 8-8. Six of those 8 losses were more from them beating themselves than the other team beating them. I guess that’s what happens when they insisted on having Marc Wilson as their QB. Well that cost them immensely as they were loaded with talent everywhere. To this day as a lifelong Raider fan, I can’t believe they never got to the SB again in the 80’s after that 83 team. The rest of the NFL was changing with the times while Al stayed stubborn with the way he wanted to run their offense. It wasn’t until Gruden arrived in the late 90’s that they had a more modern offense. Just a shame on what could’ve been. Letting Ron Wolf go didn’t help matters either as he went on to build the Packers to the force they became.
That team started 0-3, then rebounded to 8-4, then lost their last 4 games. 49 turnovers in 16 games, unbelievable! As I recall, Marcus Allen had a key fumble late against Philadelphia that cost the Raiders the game and started the 4 game collapse. This is believed to be where the Allen/Al Davis feud started.
@@oakraid76 I remember watching that Eagle game and how it was blown by them. Very frustrating time to be a Raider fan. Al was great when it came to most things about football. But it was his stubbornness with things that cost his team. The NFL changed a lot in the 80’s, but the Raiders didn’t. Al had a knack for getting talent, but the Raider way of 7 step drops with the QB got old. Shanahan tried changing it, but Al didn’t give him a chance. If Al was less stubborn to change and being less hands off with what was going on in the field and giving a coach with modem offensive views a chance back then he would’ve easily had a couple more Super Bowls. If Joe Nedney missed the FG against the Chiefs in ‘98, Gruden would’ve been gone and those 3 very competitive years that followed wouldn’t have happened. After that he became real impatient because he knew he was running out of time and made a lot of bad decisions. He really set the franchise back a lot in those later years.
The more of these songs I listen to, the more I appreciate the majesty of "Get Metsmerized." I do love that this song happened when the Raiders were waning, though. (8-8 in 1986, and it only got worse.)

This so awful and un-original. Al Davis must have ordered it be put together under penalty of death. It's so bad that the Superbowl Shuffle didn't bother to sue for copyright infringement. But what's interesting is that Both the Bears and Raiders have the same players singing similar parts. For example Todd Christiansen=Gary Fencik, Matt Millen=Singletary, Allen=Payton, Howie Long is a combination of Otis Wilson and McMahon. The only thing missing here is the hick demographic from Steve Fuller, maybe that was supposed to be captured by semi-literate Lester Hayes?
