Hell, the Puente Hills Mall today doesn't even have that many cars in the parking lot around Christmas time! 😞

Grew up in La Verne-San Dina’s area and would occasionally come to Puente Hills Mall, which in the 70’s and 80’s was the “in” place to go. All the great stores, restaurants, cinemas and misc. entertainment. Pretty much anything and everything could be found there. Fun times and great memories.

Good old days...I remember when Puente Hills Mall was the best place to hang out during the high school days. Malibu Showboat and Malibu Grand Prix....the old Fuddruckers before it turned into Barnes & Noble. Now it's a strip mall with new restaurants. Music Plus video store where we'd rent VHS's. Then there was Fullerton and Colima when there was that Texaco and Exxon gas station. Pathfinder was completely dirt where equestrians would ride. My dad used to take me to the Thrifty's on Hacienda Blvd. for ice cream every Sunday. Can't forget how there used to be two AMC 6 theaters next to the mall, and then another AMC 10 across the 60 freeway on Gale...and then that Mann 6 theaters where Velvet Turtle and Black Angus was on Castleton.
    Today, it's so much different.

@@peegeebeedee7563 - Yes, that's true, and the owner/cook (whom my friends and I used to call "Mr. Baseball Cap" because he always wore a baseball cap) must have made some serous money from that restaurant. When my parent moved from Dawn Haven Road to the High Tor gated community, the 5 bedroom 4 bath 3,600 s.f. house they purchased there belonged to him.

Off the 60 FWY Yes. I was born in MPK at the end of 1978 and yes I clearly recall in the 90s... the Golf Land and Arcade in South El Monte but also just the drive east of Montebello on 60 FWy,

Lived in Hacienda Heights from 1978 to 2003 and my parents still lives there in the High Tor gated community. Scene 1:31 - Going downhill (east bound) on Colima Road. I can see the spire point of the Mormon temple at the corner of Colima Road and Dawn Haven Road, which is the next intersection after passing Country Canyon Road. Thank you for sharing : -)

2:08 J.W. Robinson's at Puente Hills Mall before it became Robinsons-May in 1993 and Macy's in 2006. 2:26 Alongside, Sears existed at its golden age before it closed in 2018. And also off camera two other anchor stores JCPenney and The Broadway also existed at the mall. They both closed in 1996, which brought Burlington Coat Factory and 24 Hour Fitness on JCPenney building and AMC Theaters on Broadway site. The mall footages before Back To The Future was filmed in 1985.
