About Elevated Dread-- The fact that they gave you the OPTION to hide, despite you NEVER ACTUALLY NEEDING TO. Is genius! It guarantees that the player will have one clean playthrough of the game, but still instills that sense of fear of being caught even if that danger is not truly there. Utter genius!
THANK YOU, I played on stream, and there were moments where I felt so unsafe, and I wouldn't move for awhile, listening for an incoming threat. That room Jack went into with the guy in the corner? I did NOT go inside, I just wanted out lmaoo. Such a well thought out game :D

One thing I love about the last game is that it gives you game mechanics you don't actually need just to freak you out. "Shift to run" when there's nothing to run from. A closet to hide in on an empty floor, turns out you don't need to hide. Really makes you freak yourself out.

There used to be bras back in the 50's called bu**et bras, and my Mom who grew up during the time always called them 'Torpedoes' or 'Ballistic missles' so this made me giggle something awful
If it wasn't already scary enough, when a game tells you "press SHIFT to run" you know shits about to get even more real

I Can See You is another one of those indie horror games where the horror premise is basically just “being a lady after dark.”
The dialogue of the first one is set up SOOO well. It's such a good way to help progress the story
Ive heard of that before: Don't follow footsteps in dreams. Much like don't listen if you hear voices when walking the tundra. The brain is a weird thing, I wouldn't be surprised if getting trapped in dreams is a real deal coping mechanism
I've never heard of the tundra one! Is it a superstition/legend? Or is hearing voices in the tundra a real phenomenon?
@@smogglebog I imagine it must be real because so many have walked off to save someone that turned out to be a misleading voice/sound, or maybe an auditory mirage? It's got its own mythology on what could be out there making these sounds or coaxing people into the wildness, but who knows for sure

@Loamy Tenebrous There is a story of a man getting out of his car to follow screams of a woman for help in a forest. The distance of the screams stayed consistent and he eventually gave up. The next morning, police found a nody of a dead woman there.
If you hear screams and cries or voices, do not follow it. It’s either a spirit or likely a skinwalker, if you believe in this. Either way, it’s not probably not wise to stick around and find out.
About the last game (elevated dread), it is absolutely genius that they trained you to not want to go into the apartments (after you do it once and get jumpscared by scary shadow man) and then FORCE you to do it right after. That part was so unsettling and in a way got me more than any of the jumpscares
(And the added touch of making you think for a moment that you might be able to choose not to go in.. Well done)

To me the first game felt like someone explaining their dreams to a therapist, like, ohh i saw some foot prints "did you follow them" yeah, then there was a house "did you go in" it was locked.

I think Jack chose the "correct" order of paths to follow; I would've gone down the empty pathway and unless the game sent me back to follow the footsteps I'd have heard her say not to follow the footsteps in a dream and that would not exactly fill me with joy to think on taking the footstepped path.

Foot prints in the snow - I love how at the beginning of the game it said it was a dream but Jack kept trying to make sense of it. "Is this a fever dream" YES!
God that first game is incredible, its so funky and trippy style wise, that shop sections reminds me a lot of my dreams
Its one of them games that sticks with you for a while after you played it, which are always the best and most underrated

I feel like the footprints ending is a metaphor for following what other people do or want you to do instead of making your own choices. When you make your own choices, like in the second ending, it leads you right where you need to be. Home.

It's just that people like to convince themselves they made the correct choice and changed their life forever but that's way too simple
The choices of other people and the circumstances you're in (that you often have no control over) often make a bigger difference than whatever choice you made
To work with the poems analogy, it's possible (even likely) that both roads led to the same place
I don’t know if anybody noticed but at 51:50 the scream/noise made from the massive baby face is a similar one to that made by the “womb ripper” in the game bloodwash when your near the end of the game when you get the hand gun and have shoot the killer.
I love in the second game how the killer’s chasing the girl and she’s still just about about washing dishes tomorrow. A woman’s work is truly never done. 😂
I love point-and-click type horror games like the first game, I feel like the limited perspective kind of makes it feel like there's always something just out of your sight. That plus your general lack of options feels like the perfect format for horror to me.

For Feet In The Snow, I found the art style really good. I liked how the game looked and how it was about dreams. But Elevated Dread really was top-notch; it genuinely scared me. I Can See You has potential.

I think it’s better, because he’s no longer uploading twice daily or even daily.
As much as I’ve loved his content for nearly six years now, there were times when you could tell he was uploading whatever he could find- regardless of whether he was enjoying himself or not- because he was so afraid people would leave his Channel if he didn’t upload two videos a day, seven days a week.
Seán has reached a point in his career where he knows he no longer has to prep himself into oblivion and the majority of his audience understands that he has a life outside of UA-cam.
That knowledge can, and often does, lead to more creativity.
During Thankmas 2022, Seán let the cat out of the bag regarding his next I.R.I.S. Project with Security Booth creator Kyle Harwood and I’m super excited to see what they come up with!

I love that I IMMEDIATELY recognized the singing as he entered floor 6. it's a popular creepypasta based on some tissue commercial or something, I remember seeing it in videos years ago. basically a lot of people thought the singing was a bit creepy so they turned it into a creepypasta haha. I see why they chose it for a horror game!

Seen Elevator Dread played by others and seeing it once again after other times has not made me any braver. Even knowing what's coming, it's so good with suspense and I can't help but feel tense watching it.

I'm gonna be honest, i hate horror, like legit despise it, however, watching his videos helps me to still experience the plots and adventures all while helping me remain calm cause of the commentary. I honestly just discovered this channel a couple weeks ago, but i think this has easily become one of my favorite channels on which to learn about video games. I truly appreciate these videos!

49:04 I don’t think anyone mentioned this but that weird thing playing on the TV in the third game is actually a real commercial. It was for Kleenex. And people say it’s cursed! Like if you watch it you’ll die. And everyone in that cast/crew of that commercial died a couple of days later. So if you know that there’s just an extra layer of creep to it.

There's something about point and click horror that hits different. Even though it's not as intricate, the story telling, visuals and sounds really make it spooky. The endings really tied the story together. Nice game!
Like how the character got such a good work ethic, that he wants to finish the job even while being chased by a monster.

Man that last game was great! Towards the end where it had a hiding place that you don’t even end up using, such a good idea to keep the tension held super high. Awesome concept for a game and super well done.
It's so cool that Jack is still making such awesome funny content even to this day
The first had me going with the first part. It's extraordinarily elaborate while remaining simple; the first tells a story as you progress and try dissecting the environment. It rewards those that take apart the world they're in and provide a surprise for those patient enough. The third chooses to take you on a singular rollercoaster which is genuinely great, and still provides a thrilling experience to those wanting a more on-rails experience. Congratulations to both of those developers for putting out such great ideas. This is what's needed in the individual developer scene -- whether it’s horror or not
Sean should really get in the habit of wearing a heart-rate monitor when he plays horror games. I can't imagine it was lower than 100 BPM after that last scare.

that 3rd game freaked me the HELL out. right off the bat that shit got me unnerved and the whole going up the floors was pure terror and anxiety. that one's gotta be my favorite. whew.

This was SUCH a good 3SG. The first was really captured the surreal unnerving feeling that makes your brain work overtime to fill in the environment. That last one though freaked me the HELL out. The hallways changing with nothing in them sent everything in my body to flight mode. Just a whole 'nope get out get out get out'.
