That intro was a masterpiece. Sean's "reaction" to his light flickering in the intro is some of the most convincing acting I've ever seen.

@suilxrd Bruv, listen, light travels faster than sound

@suilxrd ew don't call me dear
@suilxrd what was the point of saying that?
@suilxrd I understand you were trying to be nice about it, but it came off a bit.. uh.. passive aggressive! But, there was also no reason to say that. You have all the right to state your opinion about what's funny and what's not, but at the same time you didn't have to be rude to someone over a joke that was silly and did no harm.
Randy: it’d probably be best if neither of us go out again.
Also Randy: Go turn the generator on
To be fair, at that point, it was go out or freeze to death.
Why you'd go to Randy's bunker, though? No clue on that.
Jack yelling "The dish is out!" Is way scarier than any jumpscare be could've put in

I'm shocked at how well you voice act. I thought Randy's voice was in the game.
I thought so too! I thought "man this guy sounds a lot like jack doing a shitty accent!"

Jack learned two impressive skills just for this intro.
1. Levitation
2. Channeling the infernal soul of Larry the Cable Guy
Consumed one prilosec and unlocked only a fraction of his power

The scariest part of the maple county/mandela catalogue lore is that it harnesses the fear that humans get from the Uncanny Valley Principle. It's genuinely so offputting and honestly so well made.
The fact that the creator is 18 also is mind blowing to me. Alex is such a talented individual.

Proof that you can make a horror film out of anything. The only thing alex ever used making this film was his phone.
You know, I never noticed until I said it out loud, but, "I think there's someone in my kitchen" is a chilling sentence in the literal sense. Goosebumps up and down the arms.
Here are a couple others of the sort:
I think there's someone in my bedroom.
I think there's someone in my attic.
I think there's someone in my bathtub.
Someone's knocking on my window. I live on 20th floor.
*someone's watching.*
My door got unlocked
*he's here.*
I want you to imagine waking up one morning while it’s dark out, hearing your kitchen sink running, and walking by it while it’s pitch black, water flowing.

I was about to say, HOW IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THAT. For reference, your comment was the first i saw about the intro.
It was incredible
I am not ashamed to admit I had to use the bathroom after that opening. 😂

The second game is an insanely accurate representation of my biggest fear. Something about uncanny, slightly off humans that are "imitating" what an actual human acts like *really* bothers me. It captured my biggest phobia flawlessly and it's so unsettling I love it.

Creatures mimicking is the scariest thing ever. I think I’ve discovered a hidden fear, I think it’s terrifying when you obviously know that the creature mimicking isn’t someone you know and is very obviously distorted and weird but it’s still it’s trying it’s hardest to lure you. In the Mandela catalogue (which is what the game is based off of) a character is locked in his room for days because a creature keeps trying to lure him out of his door, the creature laughs and tells him that there’s a surprise and that he should open the door, what a terrifyingly impossible situation that gives me the creeps whenever I think about it.

masochist??
@@wiman3332 hmmmm maybe
Masochism is deriving pleasure from pain being inflicted on *you* (physically or emotionally) with the counter being sadism (deriving pleasure from inflicting pain onto others -
morbid curiosity or fascination is the term maybe? Common slang for it Is "rubbernecking" which you might have heard before - the whole thing is like when you pass by a car accident and without thinking your head will turn to look at what happened, whether to see how many people were involved, how much damage there was, etc.
For some it's a sense of "looking at this makes me glad it wasn't me" for others it's just unexplained curiosity, like intrusive thoughts but it's with something directly in front of you -
some people say it's linked to human survival, you want to be aware of the dangers around you and view how others are surviving those things, but who knows really 🤷
@@anunithemuss5471 interesting, thanks for the response. So do you think all pleasure that we get from watching, playing, reading scary things is stemming from masochism?
What about haunted house mazes and attractions? We only get enjoyment from going through messed up scenes of gore, violence, nasty stuff because we know it isn't real. If it was real, that "fun scary" would turn into absolute truly fearing-for-your-life terror, which of course isn't something that we like, or are even morbidly curious about (for the vast majority of people, at least). So what sort of "switch" takes place in the brain that separates "fun scary" that we enjoy from true terror that we actively avoid?
@@STSGuitar16 I feel weird responding quickly but youtube was open when you replied 😫
I dont think that it stems from masochism exactly, but just from adrenaline rush! We live really slow lives with all the advances we've made in society and even people who aren't adrenaline junkies like to get some thrills now and then! :)
Its the same both ways with consuming horror media and going to a scary attraction, its just the thrill of it at the time
Personally I enjoy horror content, especially psychological horror, because even if it is a terrifying reality it's an interesting take on what's happening - I and a lot of others have to moderate the intake though due to anxiety disorders or otherwise issues with the content, but keep coming back just because it's interesting and something different than what we see day to day! It's not wanting to be placed in that situation, which is what a masochistic personality might want, but more just wanting to see where it goes and what happens to those involved
And then feeling true terror is just regular human psyche and almost entirely unrelated - fear is a huge factor in adrenaline, but if you're genuinely scared of dying or being harmed it's almost like a different kind of adrenaline. If your friend wants to scare you as a prank for example - if you come home and they're wearing a silly mask and go "boo!" When you walk in the door it makes your heart race because it could have been danger, but now you're laughing at the silly mask and the energy is being transferred elsewhere - if your friend sneaks up on you say while you're in the kitchen with headphones on and either grabs you or stands there in the corner of your vision waiting for you to look over, your heart races and then the energy is transferred over to more angry emotions and genuine fear now just becomes annoyance
Genuine fear is someone who isn't your friend approaching and grabbing you when you least expect it - if you manage to get away, the adrenaline isn't transferred to any other emotions and it stays in the fear and heart racing part, you're scared and you could die
That can be connected to everything else! If you go to a haunted maze and one of the chainsaw killer actors starts chasing you, it's a fun scare because as far as you know it's just an actor, a person like you performing a job and at any time you could stop and start laughing and they could break character and laugh as well, fear transferred over to enjoyment
Or you're walking across the street and a car screeches to a stop when it was your turn to cross, the initial fear of almost being hit is transferred over to annoyance that this person wasn't looking where they were going and could have hit you
This isn't true for everyone, like as an overly anxious person it takes me a long time to move past the initial fear to put the energy into another emotion, and some people might not even feel the fear to begin with and jump straight to enjoyment, like adrenaline junkies who get enjoyment out of things others would be scared of like skydiving or stormchasing
I dont think any of this is scientifically accurate but it's what I've observed and made sense of! :) humans are very very interesting
I love maple county cuz the concept is just creepy, it doesnt rely on jumpscares for the fear factor but relies on instinct and activates the fight or flight thing.

i think he also has openback headphones so it sounded much realistic
Jack's intro's are on point lately it's like watching an intro to a movie.
Maybe his/some one gonna make a compilation out of it
His videos are the best❤️❤️
1:49 Vecna got him, guys ✋😭
Fun fact, the sound used when the character enters the bunker in the first game is the same sound as the one used when closing the garage door in "Mandela Invasion". Might just be a default/free sound in unity or something
Ahh, yes. Just another totally not scary video from Jack! Nothing to see here, completely normal!
Ayo what the green Mohawk doing here?
