Thanks for this, I’m getting into mma and have a lot of equipment for a start, I’m still practicing in my garage with my dad because I can’t go to an actual mma gym until after Christmas, this really did help though so thanks!
Wish I could compete, my local gyms don’t have morning MMA classes and they’re all held in the evening while I’m at work 😞 only thing they have is BJJ gi in the mornings
That really sucks and I have met a ton of people in the same situation as you. Really the only places that are able to do morning sessions are like mega gyms like your AKAS and ATTS. I really hope it works for you man. Maybe your job will change shifts one day! I would recommend doing anything you can though!
I am 40 yrs old man with painful knees.. I ve 20yrs of boxing Practice experience and I am a yellow belt karate.. 19 Oct 2024 will be my 1st ever amateur MMA cage fight.. I never gt a chance till now to go for a fight as most of my time I was in Dubai and it was too costly there. I win or loose I will fight as I was waiting for this opportunity since 20 years.. For bad knees I am doing regular physio.. I hope to use all I know in the ring.. Even if I lose its a Win Win for me as I will gain experience of a cage fight. For training I do Shadow boxing.. punching bag.. Karate.. Bjj.. Weight training.. And Psychological Exercises to overcome any situation in the Cage... Allah Kareem.. and he is the best of planners.
my team mate just had a first amateur fight and he went against bjj blue belt that had more than a 1000 fights in kyokushin mma and was multiple times worôld champin it XD
I TOLD YA lol. The worst experience gap I've seen was a guy that basically said he wanted to fight and trained for maybe 3 months. Tough dude, but we know toughness cannot always bail you out. Well he fought a guy in his debut too...however this guy was a literal Greco Roman Olympian for the 2016 Rio games. It could have been a lot worse, but what a tough break lol. One other promotion had a debut guy that was pretty good and super excited to make his debut after a few years of MMA training. D1 all american wrestler who was also a BJJ fiend dismantled him within a minute lol
This video was fated to me, I love mma and I’m also a boxer who’s transitioning to mma, I’m doing kickboxing wrestling and Bjj, I’m 27 yrs old. Obviously just want to test myself in the amateur scence not looking to go pro. I’ve been boxing since I was 12 also . Do you have any tips for boxers doing kickboxing and mma? Thanks bro great tips and you’re a beast with all those amateur fights boxing wrestling ect hope to see more videos of you talking about fighting and boxing/ufc match ups
Love the vids, brother! Waiting for the Yokkao Hybrid Gloves review video to drop. I’m debating if I should spend a little more to getting a pair or go for the Fairtex FGV18 Hybrids instead.
Absoulutely! I guess the only thing I'd say is MAAAYBE the yokkaos are better for bags/pads along with sparring but otherwise Fairtex is just more comfortable, easier to clean, and overall better@@PathFinder1490
@@combat_corpbeen looking forward to this review too and funny enough these are the two gloves i was debating on. would love to see you compare the gloves on the video.
Hey man! I would love if you could do a video on Boxeo TM Torres Medina gloves. CSquare has done a few videos on them, but I’d love to hear from you on them. Thanks!
Please do a video on Cleto Lace up training gloves!! Shocked you havnt done one yet. Currently have 2 pairs of the Velcro but was thinking about dipping my toes in the water with the Fly Superlace X. How do you like them?
I can do that for sure. They are the "newer" versions too. Thanks for the comment dude. I have the superloop x but not the laces. I like Fly's gloves, a touch overrated for me but they are good!
This is a great video. Just what I needed. Now, I think you mentioned that you have a job. May I ask what you do to make a living? I ask because I want to know what it’s like to balance a job and mma at the same time. How do you make time for mma while having a day job? Maybe you could make a video on that cause I think a lot of people have this same question.
I am a care manager so I basically help at risk youth and prevent them from going into probation/juvenile detention or worse. For me if you are an aspiring fighter and want to make it work, find out your gyms schedule and get a job that is tailor made for it. No mandatory overtime unless its just seasonal, no on call, no overbearing shifts. For me, my work day is flexible due to the nature of the job. So on average I work from 8-4 or 9-5 sometimes I might work 12-6 and then go right into training. A Monday for me as an example is going to the regular gym to do my strength training anywhere from 5-6 AM and I do that for about an hour/half. Then I work from 9-4:30. After that I go to the gym for 45 minutes of bag work/drilling/shadow boxing. Coach 5:30-7:30 then train 7:30-9:30/10 depending on the nights. About a 25 min drive home so I am usually walking in the door around 10/10:30 then I shower, eat, hang out with my wife, play a round of league of legends or two then go to bed around 12-2 am because I just don't operate on a lot of sleep. If you want to enjoy yourself. Even at a young pro level, it is completely time consuming and exhausting. To say you feel burnt out somedays can be an understatement sometimes but...I want to be really good at it. I want to be "that guy" and I truly believe I can make good money at it one day. That's the dream of being a fighter for me. Being the best and suffering NOW so you can live comfortably later
Awesome Video! what are your thoughts on starting to compete in cage at 35? For context, we’ll say already “in shape” as far as conditioning, with 1-2months total training (so far). From your experience, and with all the info in the video of course. Is it realistic to aim for a PRO title shot on a smaller local promotion? NOT a full time “career” purely as a hobbyist. I understand a lot of factors play into this. Any input, advice or recommendations is welcome. Just trying to setup some realistic goals/expectations. Thanks a lot! Keep up the good content!
I would say GO FOR IT! In our local circuit, we have a couple guys in their mid 30s and even early 40s still keeping it competitive against the younger guys! It all depends on the work you put in and want out of it! If George Foreman can come back and win the world heavyweight championship at 40 years old, no reason why you can't have amateur fights!
Sleep. Keep training. Eat lots to keep your body fueled for mma and sleep a lot ( again sleep is important for mind and body) Otherwise have fun and just enjoy the sport until you're a bit older
Aye thats me, thanks so much for answering the question Al

I have win my amature mma debut 2 week ago. In your opinion how many amateurs fight i should take before turn Pro.
Congratulations!!!! It all depends on how you and your coaches feel. In NYS it is recommended most have 7-12
Leeeeeets gooooooooi
Hey bro, please can you make a video on the timescales you believe it will take to get on a local pro card. From 0 experience, to fight night. Thanks!
That is a suuuuuper tough question! I'd be happy to make video. Kinda like a "how long until I go pro" type of a video?
@combat_corp Sounds good bro. Thanks for being responsive!
@@JAYJAI77 I try!
What can help me to stop having nervous feeling to find a good mma gym to start your training as a beginer
Just do it
Hi im11 and I’ve been doing MMA for two years. Do you guys have any tips?
Sleep. Keep training. Eat lots to keep your body fueled for mma and sleep a lot ( again sleep is important for mind and body)
Otherwise have fun and just enjoy the sport until you're a bit older
