Halo 4 isnt that dated and still looks freaking good on 360

after going back it looks extremely ugly, textures are so low res its unbelievable. unfortunately the only good thing in halo 4 was the campaign.

For me Halo 1 was totaly beatyfull and i was 9 as well back than... in some aspects it looked better than any other halo game (particel effects which bounce of the ground and other surfaces unlike in other halos where it just fly tough the ground).

So, Xbox 360 only had like 1Gb RAM available for games and a 2007 processor (probably conceived 1 or 2 years before). How on Earth did they make Halo 4 look like that? pure optimization magic.

If the PS3/360 were still next-gen and they decided to re-release for PS2 and original Xbox for the hell of it, they would make damn sure it looked like some low-grade PS1 game instead.
Halo 4 I think had some of the finest graphics that the 360 had ever seen. I sometimes forget it was originally released on 7th Gen.
Halo 4 is still so beautiful. It was crazy to think that 343i could produce these graphics with hardware that was 8 years old! It still blows my mind. Halo 4 looks almost as good as current gen games.

Halo 4 is so good because it brings out chiefs emotional side while the other games he's been just a soldier Actually we did not know what he really is and halo 4 is Amazing because it is emotional and told better chiefs personality

Even to this day, these graphics still blow me away.. It's truly an incredibly good looking game !!

It mainly depends on which difficulty you play. If you're playing legendary, expect the length to be drastically longer :p

Halo 4 was the shortest for me :( and Halo 2 the longest... well it has the most levels.

I understand that it is just a remaster but..
I think that the game on the old Xbox 360, while the Xbox 360 is 10 years old, still looks quite good, even by the standards of today.
It shows how creative lightning and shader solutions combined with efficient geometry design can make great looking games. I can't wait to see what they'll be able to do with halo 5.

Its not a remaster. Only Halo 1 and 2 were remastered. But I agree with what else you said.

Halo 4 wasnt remastered, halo 1 was 3 years ago, and halo 2 this year... Halo 3 and 4 isnt touched other than higher framerate and ress..
That's what I thought
it wasn't remade, but it was remastered. It runs in native 1080p on Xbox One as opposed to 720p on Xbox 360, and runs at 60 FPS instead of 30 FPS. Noticeable changes when you're actually playing it. Resolution increase makes it much sharper, but bigger thing in my opinion is the 60 FPS, everything is incredibly smooth now.
Jon Dunn Remastering is remaking it, updating it, is simply doing what they did with Halo 4... get your facts straight
Narvikboy "Remaster refers to quality enhancement of sound and/or picture to a previously existing recording" off wiki. They enhanced the picture quality to Halo 4, cleaned up textures, improved frame rate, its remastered. A remake is when they completely overhaul aspects of the game. Updating is taking the previous game and adding features to that previous game, not releasing a completely new version that is improved. Its why we see blue-rays of old movies are "digitally remastered". Now before you go all condescending on people at least know what you are talking about.

Halo 4 blew me away when I got it on launch visually, and honestly it wasn’t near as bad as people say. It’s honestly a really good game and it holds up insanely well

@@grobestadtwurst2041 Same, just played 5 for the first time today on PC by the Forge app, I was really excited. I think it looks worse is because they tried going for a really futuristic look and probably changed the lighting engine into a dynamic one
I think Halo 4’s aesthetic was much better than 5’s. Everything looks too clean and plastic-y in Halo 5. That being said, Halo 5 did run at a consistent 1080p/60 FPS, while Halo 4 ran at 720p/30 FPS
This+High resolution textures(And tessellation)+real dynamic lighting+Higher draw distance= 8 generation game graphics.
Imagine that in the pc port OH YEAH.
I know this is a 2 year old comment, but it won't need real dynamic lighting if it already has great pre-compute ones, and for the rest of it, I think Halo Master Chief collection which now has Halo 4 is already doing that, if I'm not wrong, the Xbox One generation consoles and ahead are doing that too.

Quick piece of advice. If you want to comare 2 screens, don't flash them after each other, put them next to each other instead.
Humans have something caleld change blindness. The inability to see changes when images are rapidly swapped. Especially small changes, but in some cases this can cover even a person missing in a group foto. xd

These were really decent graphics for the 360, graphics that still look amazing to this day. 343 did a great job with their first Halo game.

Halo 4 was already beautiful as it is. I still boot it from time to time just to admire the atmosphere, level design and cutscenes.

@Ricardo Milos the art style isn't terrible, in fact it's great, but what's bad about it is that it's a drastic change over the old halo games. When i first started playing halo i started with halo 4, and i thought it was great. but since the master chief collection came out on pc i played through reach, 1, 2, and 3. and now i can see why a lot of people disliked halo 4. going back to 4 after playing the earlier games, it just feels way too different.

Anscheinend verstehen hier viele Leute nicht, das das Hauptaugenmerk von der Halo Master Chief Collection auf Halo 2 liegt, da dieser Teil ja auch das "Anniversary-treatment" bekommen hat. Deshalb fallen die Verbesserungen bei den anderen Teilen natürlich verhältnismäßig geringer aus...
Meiner Meinung nach aber trotzdem deutlich sichtbar!

If you're going to do a comparison video, then put them side by side (split in half). Otherwise it gets very difficult to see the changes. Once just seems to have more fog then the other.

Its not remastered,just ported,the mcc only make the games run at a higger framerate and some ilumination details,but only halo ce and halo 2 were remastered
The ignorance is painful.. Improving the quality of the game is remastering it, pure and simple.
I must say the original holds up really well :)
So basically: An uplift in resolution, jaggies went missing
Some if rare texture/level of detail uplifts.
Dynamic Shadow render distance is the same on both (Why? Take note to the shadow of the dead grunt)
Post processing/lighting/shader uplift
Shadow resolution/quality still the same.
Can't wait to download some graphical mods for H4 when it comes to PC sometime in the future.
God I want to play Halo 4 again. My roommate and I are currently marathoning Halo, we just started Halo 2.

Only small differences....
While remastering does cover even the tiniest little changes, most people usually associate it with rather major overhauls like what happened with Homeworld. While Halo 4 was remastered, it seems a little too soon since the only real difference was slightly better resolution, smoother framerate, and some slight lighting improvements.
2024 and those graphics are still looking really impresive
The only big difference is it's 60 frames per second on the Master Chief collection
And the original is like 45 or 30 frames per second.
Technically not remastered halo 4... Just improved to 60fps

Gamers that are not "polygon counters" or obsessed with resolution can tell almost no defference between the Xbox360 version and the XboxOne.

According to Wikipedia, the term remaster "... refers to enhancing the quality of the sound or of the image, or both, of previously created recordings, either audiophonic, cinematic, or videographic."
Every game in the MCC is a remastering because the image quality (frame rate, resolution, lighting) has been improved. "Remade" is a better term for the graphical changes to Halo CE and 2.
just a question for anyone that owns the MCC is split screen multiplayer not a slide show anymore? becuase halo is the game i usually go to for split screen multiplayer and I found halo 4 on the 360 to be nearly unplayable with more then two players on the same console
Halo 4 and Halo CE Anniversary were left practically untouched in MCC, but Halo 2 was completely remastered and Halo 3 received a slight upgrade.
I love how many kids are crying over the fact that a remaster isn't a game that is graphically rebuilt from the ground up. Yes lately a lot of remastered titles have been, but that is not always the case. In general a remaster is just polished, ported, or a polished port. The term remaster does not mean that there has to be a huge graphics overhaul. Remaster simply means that improvements were made.
You can easily tell the difference! Even then though halo 4 really pushed the Xbox 360, and looked stunning. But Halo 4 on XB1 just brings it to a whole new level!
The difference is much more noticeable on the console IMO. Also the X1 version appears to have a slightly different HUD to me.

The only difference I can see is there is some better texture quality and a more up to date rendering system when it comes to lighting/fx quality. I work with graphics and I have to really look to figure out the difference here.
This isn't a "Remaster" of Halo 4, but a simple upgrade. The whole point of buying the collection is mainly for Halo 2 Anniversary, and all the multiplayer content. In this video it's fairly obvious that they kept the original textures from the 360 version, but the full resolution, and slightly increased shadowing detail on the XBOne version makes everything a little crisper and more realistic-looking.

Only a slight upgrade, yet Halo 4 was native 720p and the Halo 4 from HMCC is supposed to be 1080p, but I don't see much difference. Hopefully the frame rate is 60fps like it says and not 30fps.

Halo 4 may just get my nod as the most technically impressive game of the last gen: large play areas, superb AI, loads of particle effects, smooth/consistent frame-rate, gorgeous lighting, fantastic real-time cutscenes. The game just looked stunning! The only negative was the intrusive jaggies on some of the interior levels.

I wouldn’t call the mcc version a “remaster”, it’s more of a port to pc/newer consoles with slightly higher quality graphics.
I just installed a 13.45Gb update on my Xbox One X from a Xbox 360 Halo 4 disc, will see how it looks and plays, got a 4K TV, will be interesting

It is definitely more playable now. Campaign is much less Lachy, the matchmaking is now playable but there is a very low player population
