It’s kind of funny though, the covenant can afford to have every single elite outfitted with regenerating armor but the chiefs costs as much as a space ship to make so only the Spartan gets it. The covenant have some serious resources, too bad they don’t train their elites and capture them as kids and genetically modify them to be like Spartans, then there would be no fucking chance
I like the mod, I've already played it, but it will never be the same as being able to truly experience those features in the real Halo Ce. And that's a horrible feeling, there were so many great concepts that for technical reasons, ended up removing them. The elite's shields, the ability to use swords, the red vehicle from this trailer (which comes out in halo 2 but is very different) the deployable turret of some magazine images from those times and even the engineers who were planed for this game. Most of the greatest original ideas of the franchise come from this game, which is actually the best in the franchise for having the most dynamic and innovative levels and original and fun to play weapons. It's a shame that with each installment the game looks and feels more like a CoD. The decadence began in Reach that although it is a good game its style of art and the decision to make the weapons have their counterpart from the other faction, were the first steps to the current decline of the franchise. Halo 6 gives me hope, but I don't want to make me illusions.

well everyone was definitely hyped for Halo back then, thats for sure....I still vaguely remember being bit pissed off (as PC gamer only back then) when Microsoft bought Bungie and made Halo Xbox exclusive....some years later I bought Xbox myself and thats how I began my journey more and more towards console gamer :D Anyhow open-world games were rather new thing back then......for example one of the earlierst proper open-world games (and Im not talking about some huge empty landscapes that the first two Elder Scrolls games had) was Outcast, released for PC in 1999.....and I can tell that my mind was blown by it, it still is one of my favorite games of all time and I think the most overlooked/underrated gem of all time as well. Im glad though that it got remastered/remade short time ago, but sadly what was revolutionary and amazing some 20 years ago, isnt so today, so ofc that remastered version that was basicly just graphical upgrade with few tweaks to gameplay and interface didnt really sell all that well, just like the original game flopped commercially due to high system requirements and somehow slipping under the radar for most gamers. Then you could explore a huge sand box, kill animals explore forerunner temples and destroy covenant bases and every now and again covenant patrols will attack. Basically skyrim but halo engine! Look at all that wildlife and then go watch Halo Infinite trailer... I think its pretty clear that what 343 decided to do with Infinite was to to make it more like what Bungie's original vision of more openworld Halo was back in 1999-2000.

bungie dumbed down the marine ai for some reason. When the ai is fully working they are literally unstoppable.
Marines in halo 1 were just walking ammo/weapon boxes. Hence why bungie made you able to swap weapons with them in halo 2 without killing them!
They do 3 round bursts with their 60 mag assault rifles
Bungie shows wild animals in Halo CE, but it takes them until Reach to get them in the game.

thank you! you are the one other person ive met who understands the concept that halo's graphics were groundbreaking and brilliant at the time. Back then I remember seeing this and nearly crapping myself at E3 (yes I was there and yes I was five). and the same people who say this looks like crap are the same people who say every new halo game looks like the last one. its the same franchise so yes they probably want to keep the same look, but look as halo and halo 2, day and night comparison.
