Excellent video! One thing about advanced scoring is you still get the first place bonus. So you're still always incentivized to be in first place on the population track.

Hi Stephen! Glad you enjoyed the video. Indeed, the bonus would still apply, but the advanced scoring would take some of the pressure off of trying to keep up. In fact, could make fights for second more relevant if the person in first had a big enough population lead. :)

The way you scored population for turns 2 and 3 didn't seem right. It looks like you are adding your current population to your previous total population. Shouldn't it just be current total? Because it is not actually people that you are counting but housing.
