"The most delicious thing I found, these rubber noodles" (mac'n cheese) -Tahir
😂😂😂
Tahir always has a sense of humor. I wonder if he said it on purpose as a joke.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
LMAO!!!!!! 😂
Haha!!!!
Bruuuuvvvvv this definitely had me rolling 😂🤣😂
I’m crying laughing 😂 😂😂 Tahir Nawab “it looks like torn piece of Egyptian pyramid” once again I enjoyed this episode. Their opinions about soul food had me laughing!
yea his comedy is poetic
Torn piece of Egyptian pyramids 😂😂 I love Tahir's humor.
We need to bring these guys to tour the US trying the authentic versions of all the American foods they've tried.
Literally.. because this is not soul food 😭😭
A tour ? They would weigh 300lbs.by the time they get home .Have they gained weight since the show started ?
Right starting at my house😁
They still wont get to eat it because most of it has pork in it. Their 9th century belief system won't allow it.
Someone should organize with all the popular tribal reaction channels and us fans can fundraise a trip for them.
The battle we humans have with constipation crosses cultures, time, space, gender, color and ethnicity. Truly a fearsome enemy.
Eat your veggies and drink plenty of water / juice. Problem mostly solved. The fiber / roughage generally helps keep things moving. Too much bread (gluten), cheese / meat [protein] kinda' tends to make things harder to pass. In my experience, anyway...
Magnesium, a necessary mineral, not only helps if you get constipated, it helps with sleep too.
The spinach wont block him but the "rubbery noodles" definitely will.
@@tamedshrew235 Everyone is 'blocked' by different things. I find that hydrated pasta passes better for me than dry bread. But in general my body does good with wheat while others say it's hard on them. Maybe it's because my people have eaten bread since the Roman Empire. If you think about it, cow's milk is the most foreign to their diet as Cow's milk is originally a European industry that isn't even that old. Even I get constipated from Dairy even though I am Italian. Dairy is very constipating when not balanced with fiber/minerals.
@@tamedshrew235 Oh and deep fried foods. Those are the WORST. Processed meats too.
I have to say, it always warms my heart when they unfailingly discuss the possibility of serving these foods to guests. Such generosity of spirit!
Such generous hospitality, yes. We westerners can take a valuable lesson from these gentle men. Blessings.
Always liked my corn bread hot with a little melted butter and some honey.
Yes!
I remember when I was little my mom would mash real butter with honey on my plate for me because I bent forks trying to for myself! We had cold butter to make a spread for the cornbread.
Or molasses
@@lesliegould29 We live in the south where we can still get pure sorghum syrup and it is so good with butter on cornbread! Yum! Yum!

I loved the one guys analogy about lions being weak because they only eat meat, and cows being plump and healthy because they don't 😂
We’re laughing then half of us are on keto walking the talk as tho it’s true. It’s cute tho.
Solid point to be made honestly.
He forgot to mention that we don’t have four stomachs. And that we have completely different everything. The only thing in common is that we breathe sleep excrete and reproduce
the analogy doesn't even make sense lmao
Lions are not weak.
Who else wants to make a home cooked meal for them??!!
If I was a better cook I would love to, lol
I do, a whole Thanksgiving meal with dressing and all
Me ! ❤
I would like to make them our carne guisada with Spanish rice refried beans and tortillas .
I want them to make a home cooked meal for me ;-) Dal chawal!
As a Black American Woman it warms my ancestors and my soul to see the joy they have eating soul food❤️ God Smiles Upon Them🥰🫶🏽
I'm glad that you fed them real mac and cheese instead of the box kind.
But they were served spinach instead of collard, turnip or mustard greens.
Not a worthy substitute.
or instead of that mexican one with olives
@@warrenhfrye5218 well. They are in Pakistan after all loll
@@TheAdelaideWoman The subject was Soul Food an American Southeastern fare.In which case traditionally it would have turnip, mustard or collard greens and not spinach.

Fun hearing Tahir talk about his love of Popeye!
The cartoons in Pakistan were Popeye, Woody Woodpecker, Tom and Jerry... Not sure about anything else.

Pink Panther, Ninja Turtles as well.
@@themantheycallsting480 Forgot about Pink Panther and surprised about Ninja Turtles!
Thanks! This was the very first TBT video I saw, and I fell in love. I wish I could send them some candied yams, a fried Turkey leg, some cornbread dressing, cranberry sauce, and a pecan pie for dessert!
I love these guys so much. Tahir, Gul Sher Khan, Chaudhary, and Rana are the perfect 4. When Rana put the cornbread and greens together and ate with his hand it warmed my heart. We are more alike than I first realized. I would like to wish them all a Ramadan Mubarak (blessed Ramadan.)💙
I 💯 agree with this statement
Also, I found it interesting 🤔 that Gul Sher Kahn said that the food reminded him of greens and cornbread he eats at his village.
Yes Lord, I grew up eating greens and cornbread with just my finger tips. PRICELESS!
They're all so wonderful ☺ So much fun to watch!
Oh, yes! Just need some pepper vinegar on the greens! I love black-eyed peas with my corn bread with enough of the peas' broth to soak that cornbread! That's the way my grandmother cooked it and still the way I love it... true comfort food. That looked like some legit mac & cheese, too! Made me hungry!
Savory cornbread with brothy black-eyed peas is one of my favorite comfort food dishes! Greens are even better with some pepper vinegar! So good. Everyone loves good mac & cheese! Excellent choices!
your chef always does a really good job! can you do a short feature on the person who prepares the food?
That is actually a great question I actually wanted to know who the hell is cooking all the food because for the most part it looks pretty traditional so the chef must very resourceful, as well as imaginative
It is all microwaved. No need for a video.
They don't always do great food. Please don't encourage the half-assed meals and wrong interpretations they give these men.
@@addkeifspsdcvl You must understand that they have limited resources to perfectly replicate dishes from other countries so they make due with the ingredients they can find locally that are somewhat comparable. I'm sure they don't have the funds to ship 1 or 2 things from foreign countries to make the food 100% authentic.
@@ellavarnes2392 exactly.
Sometimes Mac and Cheese IS made with condensed milk! These guys are so smart and with such sophisticated palettes! I was excited to see them scoop up the greens with the cornbread! That's how we do it cornbread is EXTRA good all by itself with a bit of butter and honey, OH MY!! I also love to use cornbread to soak up coleslaw juices. 😋 I prefer saag with cheese but made with meat flavoring is the next best! Love these videos!
I think you mean evaporated milk? Condensed milk is loaded with sugar and tastes like caramel o_O
Just need some "pot likker" (the liquid left over from stewing the greens) to dip that cornbread into!
Being raised on SOUL FOOD, I'm familiar and know how to cook all these dishes! One of the things I remember from my childhood is my Grandma, Great Aunts and their friends sipping pot liquor from the collard/mustard/turnip greens. They'd pour it in a tea cups and enjoy all the essence from the juices along with dipping some of the cornbread or hoecakes/hot water cornbread in the juice to help it go down easy and bring more flavor to each bite.....I don't know if you used any smoked meats in the spinach, but that's always a must! I sometime used smoked turkey butts/necks to bring more flavor. Man, I think I need to make a pot of greens this weekend!!!
As someone who is from the black community and who loves her soul food I am glad to see them trying dishes from my community and enjoying it I love watching them they are all my favorite!❤️
could have used a bit of honey on that corn bread as a white man from the south
It is the best food in the world
@@suckit758 Not really. You’d have to taste all food from everywhere in the world to make such claims. There’s tasty food you’ve never tasted.
I feel that way about American/ Italian not to be mistaken for authentic Italian big difference. I feel every region has something great to offer like Mexican German Asian so on, been a while since I've had some good fried okra or greens most white folks don't know how to cook them😅 and yes I'm white
Never had soul food but it sure looks delicious 😋
Around where I live Cornbread is traditional with Soup Beans, dried brown beans simmered with smoked meat, onion and seasoning until tender. It is good to dunk in the soup and helps fill you up.
Fried catfish, red beans and rice they need to try.
They’ve tried catfish. Good video. They liked it.
OK, everyone's bringing up more and more southern traditional favorite foods. I can't move back to Memphis darn it.
Yummmmm 😋
To our friends on TPT: Thank you for always making us smile with your honest reviews, good humour, and gentle spirits. It is always a pleasure visiting this channel. I look forward to it daily! Ramadan Mubarak to you, your family, and fellow villagers. May God bless you, as you have been a blessing to us. Love from Canada!
I 100% agree! Corn bread and tea is a perfect meal on it's own. I have and do this on occasion myself.
I love this channel and learn so much from everyone here. Thank you. 😊💜✌
I want to eat everything that you're eating. It looks delicious! When I was young my mother cooked soul food a lot. I didn't care for it then, now I wished that I had her cooking again. She passed away over 40 years ago and she had a special touch when it came to food. She cooked with a lot of love!
What a cool way to look at revisiting something you had before, like a 2nd marriage. Never thought of it that way.
Tahir is very wise 😉
Mr. Rana's English is so good. He pronounces the words so well! I love this entire wholesome group.
I'm so glad they liked it. I thought for sure Raffique wouldn't care for it. I love Soul Food. It is what we ate in our household when I was growing up. I loved to eat collard greens and buttery corn bread together exactly the way they ate the spinach and corn bread. Delicious! We would have fried chicken and/or barbecue ribs with a side of sweet potatoes (or candied yams), potato salad, and white rice with black-eyed peas. But the best side we ever had (and still my favorite to this day) is macaroni and cheese.😋😋😋
Preach cobbler!!!
I was hoping they would like soul food. They should've served them candied yams though, Chaudhry would've loved it bc he has a sweet tooth.
@@krimmie1111 We had peach cobbler (and banana pudding) only on holidays.😋
@@krimmie1111 I love peach cobbler! Maybe in the next episode.
I know a lot of people like to call it soul food but it's really southern comfort food
What I wouldn’t give to hang out with these guys for a while just to learn and share life experiences.
Tahir had me laughing the whole time. These guys are such a breath of fresh air.
He is the best!
Yeah his story about corn bread won't make you constipated and flour will stick on your stomach and make it harder to past stool. Lol
SOUL FOOD is exclusive to the African American community. It was created and perfected by our ancestors (former slaves). While a lot of things eaten are similar to Southern cousine, our herbs/spices and techniques are very different. For example white people and Black people tend to make Mac & Cheese very differently. We also tend to prepare our sweet potatoes, fry our chicken, etc very differently.
He should have quickly explained to them where the food comes from and stuff.
They never do.
Maybe they do, off camera.
Two important missing items:
1. Hot sauce (Louisiana)
2. Kool-Aid (red)
It is Sunday and this is our Sunday dinner here in South Carolina! Only we would have collard greens or cabbage rather than spinach. BLESSINGS!
Those greens look like MUSTARD GREENS. They have the same consistency as spinach.
My grandma would mix collards, mustards, turnips, Polk salad… whatever was around, a combination of things in the freezer plus greens somebody dropped off from their garden. The mixture looked a lot like this so maybe it’s not spinach
"It looks like a torn piece of Egyptian pyramids.." ⚰️. I'm done 😂😂😂
I started making naan at home and my family loves it
We buy can naan at our Costco here, it is so good! I love to toast it.
I just tried sesame naan from a new Pakistani restaurant and I'm addicted. Usually I am not big on naan, prefer rice, but it's fantastic. Try it if you like sesame! Plus you get to say, "kul ja simsim" (open sesame)
@@andrewludwig9251 We go to an Indo/Pak/Bangla grocer 45 minutes away and guess what? The naan at the local supermarket chain is as good or better. Maybe because there's a large South Asian population in my town who also don't want to drive to 3-4 towns over.
I love these guys. I love how they are always thankful and how they always bless the cooks. It seems like they truly eat the food with love. I wish I got compliments like they give for my cooking. We just snarf it up around here!
😂
Sometimes when you eat cornbread we like to spread it with a little bit of butter or smear it with some honey to make it sweeter.
As a frequent visitor to the USA from the UK I absolutely love corn bread . It’s just completely un heard of and not available here in UK
@@AftabKhan-yq5sk really?!?!? 😟

"It is a new experience like a second marriage is a new experience." HILARIOUS. And true!
This has become my favorite UA-cam channel. I was describing to my 86 year old father about this episode of our friends eating soul food. He found it interesting that our friends in Pakistan enjoy cornbread and greens. I think my dad has learned to like these videos as much as I do. He asks what else have they tried from the southern United States. It was of great interest to him that our Pakistani friend Gul Sher Khan has enjoyed our traditional foods in his village. Dad says the person preparing these meals is very talented to cook such a broad menu.
I adore them all but the guy with the black head wrap is a whole vibe. The mustache, the rings, the dimple… I like him❤.
Someday I will also send a package. My life is too expensive right now but soon this will change for me
I love these guys but if you going to give them soul food they need collards, turnips, or mustard greens not spinach.
These guys are so endearing. I love watching their reactions and analogies on why it must be good for you 🙂
Drop Nawab from this league. He is always always annoying.
Soul food originated in the south east of America, in the African American community. It's truly a delicious gift to the American recipe book. I would only add that there should be a little butter on the corn bread, to lubricate it.
Ghee

What I enjoy about watching these guys is how they compare the food to what THEY'RE used to, and it always seems to involve spice and other ingredients of which I've heard about half; the other half? No idea but would love to try. So much more spice in different parts of the world: Middle East, India, China, Indonesia, etc.
I was raised on soul food. This looks like supper any day of the week except for the spinach. We'd have collard or turnip greens. I'm glad they liked it. Its just good food!
I wonder if the “spinach” is really greens, and they just don’t know what else to call it.
I wondered that too.
They probably don't have collards where they live. It might be easier for the chef to just have used spinach.
@@Maki-00 Collared greens are not found in Pakistan, unless someone has imported seeds and is growing them in their private garden. Some of them call it 'palak' in the video and that is the specific name for spinach in Urdu/Hindi. A very common pairing in villages is mustard green/spinach stew/curry paired with griddle cooked flat bread of maize flour (makai ki roti) served with butter or ghee on top, so the flavour combination of maize and spinach is known to these men.
Collard greens, Turnip greens, spinach, and Dandies were interchangeable for me growing up. I just about can't eat greens if they're not hot, boiled and salty.
Please replace the spinich with collards. Now that's soul food
I grew up with this food on every Sunday. Glad they like it. Add some fried fish and we’re good.
And sweet tea!
Some black-eyed peas would be good too!

Kayfabe - the first time I heard this name was on a podcast by Eric Weinstein.
@@rahusphere Kayfabe is a wrestling term that was used to mean to stay in character for your fans. It’s not really a thing today because wrestlers go online as their real selves and we know about who they are etc. I like the idea because most people have a little bit of kayfabe in life, whether it be at work, or not being their complete selves in public, and to me it means no one knows your complete self no matter how much of it you show the world.

Ya'll need to try real fried chicken like Popeye's or Lucille's Flying Pig or Roscoes Chicken & Waffles. You'll never want to go home lol
Corn bread should be eaten with greens. Use it as you do roti: tear off a piece of cornbread with your fingers and use it to pick up some of the greens. And if it's soul food, the greens are not spinach but one of these: collard, mustard, or turnip greens. These greens are cooked with some kind of smoked meat.
Might be mustard greens because they are commonly eaten in Pak
..Good effort ya'll, just gotta use some Seasoned (Southern style) collard greens, moisT cornbread (not overcooked), and the coating for the chicken looks great (a side of Louisiana hot sauce would be helpful too)-the mac n' cheese looks pretty tasty thO!!! ☺
I’ve got to try some roti, in almost every video they mention it! It must be delicious! 💗💗💗💗💗
Roti is bread, usually flatbread, any flatbread is roti, the recipe may vary. It must not be eaten on its own, then at least put a royal amount of butter on in.
Very easy to make at home.
It tastes exactly like a soft taco shell. It is unleavened flour and water and cooked on a flat or domed surface.
if you like Naan you will probably enjoy Roti. At least that’s my experience
they are flatbreads that are used to dip into meals and eat with the bread. Like with Indian foods that have much sauce and you scoop it onto the Naan, or use Naan to make the meal more hearty. Roti is like that too except it’s flatter than naan and looks more like a tortilla but it isn’t corn.
I am from Pakistan we eat 2 time roti breads, in lunch and dinner in breakfast we eat paratha it's oily bread.
Don't ever eat hen, rather try to eat..🐓

Man, I hope y'all made that cornbread correctly and didn't ruin it by putting sugar in it. No self respecting southerner would defile cornbread with sugar, lol. I also don't see any butter dripping out of it. Only thing I see missing is a cold glass of milk to wash it down with. Thanks for sharing
These videos have made me realize how much we have in common with these men. Good content
Oooooooh! I just ran across this video and got tickled watching these guys eat soul food! It would have been nice to have seen them wrap it all up with some lemon pound cake or peach cobbler or sweet potato pie. Both Rana and Gull Sher would have been at home, eating at my mama's table, eating greens and cornbread the way they did just as she did. Betcha she would have looked at them with a grin and asked, "Want some more, sugar?"
I think they would love collard greens. (But maybe spinach was more accessible. Someone send a big can of seasoned collards to them! I'm in the UK or I'd do it. Lol) There something special about fresh corn bread, still warm, with real butter. I'm really surprised at how much they liked the mac & cheese! (Rubber noodles! 😂)
I just know that “soul food” is making ancestors roll in their graves. It looks bland and whoever made the Mac and cheese should be imprisoned.
I love that Mr. Tahir always offers the viewers to “try” as well. ☺️

The Americans of African descent, who essentially created soul food, were fundamentally village people when they derived the soul food menu. This is why these people can relate; it logical.
These guys always bring a smile to my face! I'm happy to know they enjoy soul food but why do they call the greens spinach? Were the greens replaced with spinach for collard or mustard greens?
They probably don't have collards where they live. So they had to use spinach instead.
They eat a lot of mustard greens in Pak, but a ton of spinach. Not sure what they were eating but they mistook iceberg lettuce for cabbage. Might just be confused about the word
