    No raisins in Cinnamon buns! Try to use room tempered butter, instead of melted, and spread it on to the dough lika on a sandwich. It will make the Cinnamon buns more "juicy". That's how we do it in Sweden 😊

      @sleepygirll 4 роки тому +1

      Renee Thengelin AND you can microwave water or boil water pour it in the glass, then dump it out and place a stick of butter on a counter and place the glass on top to make it room temp :)

    You've saved me for Christmas this year! We exchange 'family' gifts instead of one for each individual. They all love to cook together, so this year each family is getting a basket (I found some gorgeous ones at a thrift store!) lined with a cute kitchen towel (found new at the same thrift store!) and then filled with a jar of HOMEMADE lemon curd, a jar of the dry ingredients for your scone recipe AND your cinnamon bun recipe to be made up later and a bottle of vanilla! To fill in the holes I'll add some of my homemade candies/cookies. Everyone tends to go overboard, so I will also throw in a couple small kitchen tools and a Christmas ornament. Cover, wrap with a pretty bow and done! So they will have sweets galore and maybe they will all be in a better mood for 2020.

    You can do lemon curd in up too. No need to proof the eggs. After you mix it with sugar they won't curdle. So mix everything with mixer and put in a glass jars the same as you did vanilla, 9 min on high and 10 minutes npr.

    I like to leave a good solid border of bare dough 1/2” right in the middle of the sheet it adheres in the middle of the roll and prevents the dough from “towering” and unraveling while you eat it.

    No raisins in the cinnamon buns!!
    I mix softened butter with the sugar and cinnamon (or vanilla powder 🤤) to a paste and spread it on the dough.
    On Swedish cinnamon buns we brush whipped egg on the buns and then put nib sugar on them.
    (Tip, spread Nutella instead, sooooo good)

    Thanks so much! I'm visiting from "She's in Her Apron" and had wonderful time :) I'm all for raisins, but totally get that they're not for everyone. There's also a really good Lemon Curd recipe for the Instant Pot. I made it once but then had no clue how to serve/use it lol! Oh well, thanks for reminding be about the vanilla extract. I did find some grade B vanilla beans awhile ago when I first ran across the IP method. They were much cheaper and good enough for extract.

    Cinna-buns/-rolls:
    The danish tradition is to mix softened butter with the (demerara-style) sugar and cinnamon-powder.
    Personally, I also add vanilla-POWDER to the mix...
    Alternatively: Mix vanilla-extract into the softened butter.
    It makes the "filling" fairly easy to spread on the dough.
    The sugar and butter will melt together in a caramel'y deliciosness, on the bottom of the pinwheel rolls.

    For home use we just put the beans into the vodka bottle. Had to go back to split them open and that sped it up. I feel like the clearer(cleaner tasting? not sure I don't drink alcohol) or better alcohol was partly what made it excellent vanilla. The flavors don't compete.

    I add raisins and chopped nuts to some then we have a nice selection. A fork gets a lot of juice out of citrus better than a juicer. I just put vanilla beans in the vodka bottle and stick it in a closet, then it's ready it year round.

    I actually have that same box of the same bottles sitting in the next room! I’ve wanted to make homemade vanilla for a couple years now and this year I finally did it! I prepared them mid October so my recipients will have to wait a couple more months after receiving them for Christmas, but it’s DONE! Although I do plan on printing out labels and attaching a recipe for vanilla cupcakes or ice cream or something. But super simple and I can’t wait to try it myself! I say do not own an instant pot. Also sadly, I ran out of my store bought vanilla extract so I actually had to purchase another bottle to last me through the holidays until I can use my homemade stuff. That purchase, though small. was painful!
