      I'm slow-planning a home gym in my third stall, and I have a mild but in-need-of-correcting slope. I've run through a number of ideas in my head, but this is better than all of them. Really appreciate the design!

      This is awesome! Had a question though, how well would this work with 11mm sheets? I have a 2 1/2 inch slope so I'm thinking thicker wood will work better.

      @@samaga518 That should work fine -- you won't have to buy as many sheets of thin plywood that way.

    I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews. I was so impressed with the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

    Alan, thank you so much for this and all of your very informative videos. Your videos have been such an influence to me to get off my ass and get under a barbell. I recently built an 8x8 platform in my garage, but the slant on the floor isn't consistent (larger degree of slant on side). My main issue, other than dealing with this slant, is my decision to use MDF/particle board instead of plywood or OSB. MDF is brittle, doesn't hold screws well and it's heavy as sh*t. With the slant on my garage floor, the screws and glue have popped out one corner of my platform (deadlifts didn't help). I am about to scrap my whole build and start fresh using this technique.

    A problem with this, specifically with attaching the new wedge to the base of the platform with Glue is that you're probably unable to reuse that old platform if you ever go to a non or differently slanted place. If it's the piece under the main platform, just use screws, Gravity will hold it down (along with the weight on top) and the screws will stop it sliding around.

  • @AndyTargaryen
    @AndyTargaryen 4 роки тому +3

    I may be missing something but, if 1.5" was needed to level out and each wedge sheet was ~0.4" (2/5ths) thick then wouldn't that require 1.5/0.4 = 3.75 wedge sheet pieces under the far end? Dunno where 8 came from. Wouldn't 8 pieces x 0.4 inches = 3.2" of elevation?

    • @CamKidman

    I'm wondering if this will still work on a more minor slope. I'm pretty limited on space in my garage, so I would have to just stick with a platform that fits inside the squat rack, about 40" x 40" The floor is slanted only about 1/4" over that 40" but it's enough that i really feel it in my quadricep tendons (because I'm old AF, probably). That means only one sheet of 5mm would be used underneath a 3/4" sheet of plywood. Wondering if that would rock with me on it?

    Good morning, I am a 13 year old who has been weight training for about 1 and a half years. From Februarg up till May I stopped simply weight training and started powerlifting. I wanted to gain maximal strenght as well as loose weight and since my trainer was a professional strongman he new powerlifting well. I gained a lot of strenght as well as lost 6 or a bit more pounds of fat. For meal 1 I ate 3 eggs and a tomato, for meal 2 I ate quaker oats with plain yoghurt and sometimes a fruit, for meal 3 I ate a banana, for meal 4 I ate around 180-200g (sometimes more) chicken breast with rice, for meal 5 I ate an apple and a kiwi, for meal 6 I ate around 200g chicken breast with rice and fried onions, lastly for meal 7 I ate an orange.
    This was I think about 1700-1900 cal per day. I did 30 minutes fasted cardio with 5 minutes abs training 4 times per week and did heavy weights powerlifting for an hour to a hour and 15 minutes 3 times per week, the sessions were legs, chest, and back. My squat max was 220 pounds. After I almost broke my back and injured it in the squat I stopped weight training entirely. For about 1 to 2 months I did 10 minutes abs workout in the morning and as I ate a few calories I became sleapy all the time with a low blood pressure sometimes 51 and a pulse of 48 today. I also lost 17 pounds of fat in the last 31 days. I will not be getting into weight training for a while. Can you please advice how much calories I should eat per day until I am only doing the 10 minutes abs workout entirely without weight training since if I eat 1700 cal per day right now I will have a weight gain, thank you.
