Comedian Rob Schneider Discovers Jesus, Forgiveness: "I Needed...to Be Home'

- Comedian Rob Schneider is increasingly speaking about his faith, heralding the importance of forming a foundation in God and forgiving others. "Jesus only lets you stray so much," Schneider recently told CBN News of his decision to re-embrace the faith he once found as a teenager. "I think, at a certain point, He grabbed me again and hugged me."
The "Saturday Night Live" alum, who stars in a new Bentkey cartoon called "Chip Chilla," went on to describe what he sees as an inherent beauty in Christianity - a faith he believes is predicated upon true goodness. "There are other religions out there that say, 'Well, kill your enemy; hate your enemy,'" Schneider said. "And we have a religion that says, 'Love your enemy, love thy neighbor as thyself ... love others.' What a beautiful way to go through life."
The actor also reflected on the need to forgive. "If I am going to lead my life and be an example, as Christ compels us to do, then I have to do it," Schneider continued. "Even if it hurts, even if it stretches how I used to feel ... and, once you forgive, the beautiful thing about forgiveness is ... you end up feeling better."
"The Animal" star's return to faith is notable, as he recalled being so devoted to Christianity as a teenager that he "would have dreams of Jesus Christ." Over time, though, he drifted. "I did - like many Christians do - stray," Schneider said. "But there was a continuing pull back, knowing where I needed to be and to be home."
He continued, "And then [a] very, very strange confluence of things. I married a Catholic, and she was very patient with me, and she's been the greatest thing that's ever happened to me." This factor mixed with a project about the Shroud of Turin, among other happenings, started pushing Schneider to think deeper about his faith roots. In the end, he said he could no longer ignore it. No one ever regrets finding Jesus ✝️
Truth! I have never known anybody who regretted finding Jesus. There are some who get caught back up in sin, but they never regret finding Jesus. The most important decision of our lives is to accept Jesus. There is an eternity, and we need to know we will be with God.

I met him once in Kuwait and he was genuinely selfless with his time acknowledging his fans. He was wonderful and uplifting; a fresh of breath air! God bless this man. I still have the picture of us on my refrigerator. A light in a dark place ❤

It’s not the name that matters or even the idea. It’s choosing to live in service and love to others, no matter their flaws…as we are all flawed. Leading with a loving heart, not the judging conscience that marks the boundaries of our personal responsibilities. I challenge myself daily to open my heart and witness the embrace he’s speaking to.
Comparing the easily angered and unfaithful Zeus to our loving and forgiving Savior is absolute blasphemy. Even if you can’t believe in Jesus there is no denying that the world would be a better place if we all followed his lead and loved those around us, even our enemies.

Rob is speaking a lot of truth. I denied God because I did not want to look at my own lies/sin/wicked thoughts/greed I did not want to live my life serving a master. Instead I was my own master. Well that did not work out well at least not for me. Serving Jesus is the best thing I know to do. It has given me a purpose that I WANT!

I am glad he has returned home. I am, however, troubled by some of us believers who believe God needs famous people to spread the Gospel. He does not! Salvation is the work of God, not human effort, as only the Holy Spirit can by God's power make the spiritually dead alive. Nevertheless, it is great to see all kinds of people being saved. I used to be so angry at God and other Christians but over time I was worked on by Jesus to heal my heart after 20 years of going back and forth from paganism to monotheist and finally to following Jesus. Me too. People in the church hurt me over the years and I was angry for a very long time until God reminded me that when I stand before him those people that hurt me won’t be there. It will be just God and I. We have to let go and move forward with Jesus.

The shroud of Turin isn't realistic because men would've had a trimmed beard at that time.. and a short haircut, because it was considered a shame.. Which the Gospel confirms this. Jesus is also not European with blonde hair and blue eyes.. He's more Middle Eastern with a darker skin tone.. which again.. the gospel confirms this..

How do you know he's saved? He said he's Catholic. It's hard to learn anything in a Catholic church that consists of rituals, they rarely teach the gospel, and they teach it wrong when they do, they pray to Mary and the Saints, they repent to a preacher. I was extremely happy until he said he's Catholic.

You are only a child of God if you make Him Lord of your life. You must accept Him as your personal Savior and follow Him. Not everyone is a child of God, although He desires that all would become His child.
